- In 2015, the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) released a new youth series, Skam, which was acclaimed for its accurate portrayal of Norwegian teenagers but, above all, for its distribution as a transmedia narrative spreading content across several platforms. Through focus-group interviews, this article investigates how Swedish Skam viewers took part in the content and perceived the role and relation between the platforms. While the interviewees followed Skam in different ways, they nevertheless accepted and appreciated the transmedia format. While they argued that the core content needed to be video based, other content was also seen as a natural part of the series and essential in building the narrative. Furthermore, the idea of contemporary media consumption as being less constrained by time and space was partly contradicted. Especially real-time content and discussions with peers motivated the participants to abide by a new kind of TV schedule, reminiscent of TV viewing practices of the past.

- © 2017 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group In contemporary democracies, citizens’ political memberships are undergoing significant changes. Particularly young people are described as being less interested in long-term commitments in conventional political collectives, instead preferring to engage in cause-oriented activism in loosely organised groups, often sustained by online media. However, behind these general trends, there is a diversity of collective activities, where people are typically part of several ones. The shifting forms of memberships have rarely been investigated as such from the perspective of young citizens. Using a qualitative multi-method approach, this article investigates how young people with an interest in civic and political issues experience and reflect upon their involvements in various collectives. The analysis focuses on two aspects: the explorations that characterise the participants’ political memberships, and the meanings and motives of joining political collectives. On the whole, the participants’ involvement can be described as shifting and tentative. This can be related to the idea of adolescence as a formative period of life, where explorations of memberships constitute important processes in young people’s development of values, beliefs and identities. As for meanings and motives, three themes were found to be central: perceived efficacy, self-identity and peer relationships. The study suggests that political membership is multidimensional and usefully analysed as a process rather than a dichotomous category. As such, it involves explorations and changes over time. The study highlights the reflexive dimensions of membership, where affiliations to collectives is something that youth try out, work on, account for and reconsider in relation to their self-identities.

- The Internet crosses established boundaries of previously separate fields of communication and research. In its wake, new borderlands are opened up - characterized by mixes of private and public, production and consumption, and play and politics. This book explores those borderlands and overviews key issues in the study of Internet culture. Digital Borderlands investigates four ways in which identities are shaped through interactive uses of the Internet - love relations, gendered bodies, girl webzines, and cosmopolitan sites all exemplify how new media transforms older forms of popular entertainment and political culture.

- Kampen mot sexuella trakasserier och våld mot kvinnor har alltid varit en central fråga för kvinnorörelsen. Denna rapport går djupare in i förutsättningen för denna kamp inom två olika branscher – byggbranschen och de gröna näringarna – och försöker förstå vilka specifika omständigheter och förutsättningar inom varje bransch som utgör sammanhanget till aktivismen mot sexuella trakasserier. Vi ger här en överblick av den svenska #metoo-aktivismen 2017-2018, samt en mer detaljerad skildring av organiseringen av #sistaspikenikistan samt #skiljagnarnafrånvetet, två av de 77 upprop som organiserades av olika grupper.Data har samlats ihop utifrån en tvärvetenskaplig ansats enligt den enkla principen ”vad hände då, oktober-december 2017, och vad har hänt sedan dess?” Vi har samlat detta högst aktuella, unika men flyktiga datamaterial som återfanns på sociala och i traditionella medier och intervjuat initiativtagare, deltagare och andra centrala personer runt uppropen.
