  • Observation of e(+)e(-) -> gamma X(3872) at BESIII
  • 2014
  • Ingår i: Physical Review Letters. - 0031-9007 .- 1079-7114. ; 112:9, s. 092001
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • <p>With data samples collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring at center-of-mass energies from 4.009 to 4.420 GeV, the process e(+)e(-) -&gt; gamma X(3872) is observed for the first time with a statistical significance of 6.3 sigma. The measured mass of the X(3872) is (3871.9 +/- 0.7(stat) +/- 0.2(syst)) MeV/c(2), in agreement with previous measurements. Measurements of the product of the cross section sigma[e(+)e(-) -&gt; gamma X(3872)] and the branching fraction B [X(3872) -&gt; pi(+)pi(-)J/psi] at center-of-mass energies 4.009, 4.229, 4.260, and 4.360 GeV are reported. Our measurements are consistent with expectations for the radiative transition process Y(4260) -&gt; gamma X(3872).</p>

  • Observation of Lambda(+)(c) -&gt; nK(S)(0)pi(+)
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: Physical Review Letters. - 0031-9007 .- 1079-7114. ; 118:11
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • <p>We report the first direct measurement of decays of the Lambda(+)(c) baryon involving the neutron. The analysis is performed using 567 pb(-1) of e(+)e(-) collision data collected at root s = 4.599 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. We observe the decay Lambda(+)(c) -&gt; nK(S)(0)pi(+) and measure the absolute branching fraction to be B(Lambda(+)(c) -&gt; nK(S)(0)pi(+)) = [1.82 +/- 0.23(stat) +/- 0.11(syst)]%. A comparison to B[Lambda(+)(c) -&gt; p( (K) over bar pi)(0)] provides an important test of isospin symmetry and final state interactions.</p>

  • Ingår i: Physical Review D. - 1550-7998 .- 1550-2368. ; 88:11, s. 112007
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • <p>Using a sample of 1:06 X 10(8) psi(3686) events collected with the BESIII detector, we present the first observation of the decays of psi(3686) -&gt; Lambda(Sigma) over bar (+) pi(-) + c.c. and psi(3686) -&gt; Lambda(Sigma) over bar (-) pi(+) + c.c. The branching fractions are measured to be B(psi(3686) -&gt; Lambda(Sigma) over bar (+) pi(-) + c.c.) = (1.40 +/- 0.03 +/- 0.13) X 10(-4) and B(psi(3686) -&gt; Lambda (Sigma) over bar (-) pi(+) + c.c.) = (1.54 +/- 0.04 +/- 0.13) X 10(-4) where the first errors are statistical and the second ones systematic.</p>

  • Search for C-parity violation in J/psi -&gt; gamma gamma and gamma phi
  • 2014
  • Ingår i: Physical Review D. - 1550-7998 .- 1550-2368. ; 90:9, s. 092002
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • <p>Using 1.06 x 10(8) psi(3686) events recorded in e(+)e(-) collisions at root s = 3.686 GeV with the BESIII at the BEPCII collider, we present searches for C-parity violation in J/psi -&gt; gamma gamma and gamma phi decays via psi(3686) -&gt; J/psi pi(+)pi(-). No significant signals are observed in either channel. Upper limits on the branching fractions are set to be B(J/psi -&gt; gamma gamma) &lt; 2.7 x 10(-7) and B(J/psi -&gt; gamma phi) &lt; 1.4 x 10(-6) at the 90% confidence level. The former is one order of magnitude more stringent than the previous upper limit, and the latter represents the first limit on this decay channel.</p>

  • Amplitude analysis of D0 -&gt; K -π+π+π-
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: Physical Review D : covering particles, fields, gravitation, and cosmology. - 2470-0010 .- 2470-0029. ; 95:7
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • <p>We present an amplitude analysis of the decay D-0 -&gt; K- pi(+)pi(+)pi(-) based on a data sample of 2.93 fb(-1) acquired by the BESIII detector at the psi(3770) resonance. With a nearly background free sample of about 16000 events, we investigate the substructure of the decay and determine the relative fractions and the phases among the different intermediate processes. Our amplitude model includes the two-body decays D-0 -&gt; (K) over bar*(0)rho(0), D-0 -&gt; K- a(1)(+) (1260) and D-0 -&gt; K-1(-)(1270)pi(+), the three-body decays D-0 -&gt; K-1(-)*(0)pi(+)pi(-) and D-0 -&gt; K- pi(+)rho(0), as well as the four-body nonresonant decay D-0 -&gt; K- pi(+)pi(+)pi(-). The dominant intermediate process is D-0 -&gt; K(-)a(1)(+)(1260)accounting for a fit fraction of 54.6%.</p>

  • An improved limit for Gamma(ee) of X(3872) and Gamma(ee) measurement of psi(3686)
  • 2015
  • Ingår i: Physics Letters B. - 0370-2693 .- 1873-2445. ; 749, s. 414-420
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • <p>Using the data sets taken at center-of-mass energies above 4 GeV by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage ring, we search for the reaction e(+)e(-) -&gt; gamma(ISR) X(3872) -&gt; gamma(ISR)pi(+)pi(-) J/psi via the Initial State Radiation technique. The production of a resonance with quantum numbers J(PC) = 1(++) such as the X(3872) via single photon e(+)e(-) annihilation is forbidden, but is allowed by a next-to-leading order box diagram. We do not observe a significant signal of X(3872), and therefore give an upper limit for the electronic width times the branching fraction Gamma B-X(3872)(ee)(X(3872) -&gt; pi(+)pi(-) J/psi) &lt; 0.13 eVat the 90% confidence level. This measurement improves upon existing limits by a factor of 46. Using the same final state, we also measure the electronic width of the psi(3686) to be Gamma(psi)(ee)(3686) ee = 2213 +/- 18(stat) +/- 99(sys) eV.</p>

  • Measurement of B(psi(3770) -&gt; gamma chi(c1)) and search for psi(3770) -&gt; gamma chi(c2)
  • 2015
  • Ingår i: Physical Review D. - 1550-7998 .- 1550-2368. ; 91:9
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • <p>We report a measurement of the branching fraction for psi(3770) -&gt; gamma chi(c1) and search for the transition psi(3770) -&gt; gamma chi(c2) based on 2.92 fb(-1) of e(+)e(-) data accumulated at root s = 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. We measure B(psi(3770) -&gt; gamma chi(c1)) = (2.48 +/- 0.15 +/- 0.23) x 10(-3), which is the most precise measurement to date. The upper limit on the branching fraction of psi(3770) -&gt; gamma chi(c2) at a 90% confidence level is B(psi(3770) -&gt; gamma chi(c2)) &lt; 0.64 x 10(-3). The corresponding partial widths are Gamma(psi(3770) -&gt; gamma chi(c1)) = (67.5 +/- 4.1 +/- 6.7)keV and Gamma(psi(3770) -&gt; gamma chi(c2)) &lt; 17.4 keV.</p>

  • Measurement of chi(cJ) decaying into eta ' K+K-
  • 2014
  • Ingår i: Physical Review D. - 1550-7998 .- 1550-2368. ; 89:7, s. 074030
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • <p>Using (106.41 +/- 0.86) x 10(6) Psi(3686) events collected with the BESIII detector at BEPCII, we study for the first time the decay chi(cJ) -&gt; eta'K+K- (J = 1, 2), where eta' -&gt; gamma rho(0) and eta' -&gt; eta pi(+)pi(-). A partial wave analysis in the covariant tensor amplitude formalism is performed for the decay chi(c1) -&gt; eta'K+K-. Intermediate processes chi(c1) -&gt; eta'f(2)'(1525) chi(c1) -&gt; K-0*(1430)K-+/-(-/+) (K-0*(1430)(+/-) -&gt; eta'K-+/-) are observed with statistical significances larger than 5 sigma, and their branching fractions are measured.</p>

  • Measurement of cross sections of the interactions e(+)e(-) -&gt; phi phi omega and e(+)e(-) -&gt; phi phi phi at center-of-mass energies from 4.008 to 4.600 GeV
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: Physics Letters B. - 0370-2693 .- 1873-2445. ; 774, s. 78-86
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • <p>Using data samples collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider at six center-of-mass energies between 4.008 and 4.600 GeV, we observe the processes e(+)e(-) -&gt; phi phi omega and e(-)e(-) -&gt; phi phi phi. The Born cross sections are measured and the ratio of the cross sections sigma(e(+)e(-) -&gt; phi phi omega)/sigma(e(-)e(-) -&gt; phi phi phi) is estimated to be 1.75 +/- 0.22 +/- 0.19 averaged over six energy points, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. The results represent first measurements of these interactions.</p>

  • Measurement of e(+)e(-) -&gt; pi(+)pi(-) psi(3686) from 4.008 to 4.600 GeV and observation of a charged structure in the pi(+/-)psi(3686) mass spectrum
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: Physical Review D : covering particles, fields, gravitation, and cosmology. - 2470-0010 .- 2470-0029. ; 96:3
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • <p>We study the process e(+)e(-) -&gt; p(+)p(-)psi(3686) using 5.1 fb(-1) of data collected at 16 center-of-mass energy (root s) points from 4.008 to 4.600 GeV by the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider. The measured Born cross sections for e(+)e(-) -&gt; p(+)p(-)psi(3686) are consistent with previous results, but with much improved precision. A fit to the cross section shows contributions from two structures: the first has M = 4209.5 +/- 7.4 +/- 1.4 MeV/c(2) and Gamma = 80.1 +/- 24.6 +/- 2.9 MeV, and the second has M = 4383.8 +/- 4.2 +/- 0.8 MeV/c(2) and Gamma = 84.2 +/- 12.5 +/- 2.1 MeV, where the first errors are statistical and the second systematic. The lower-mass resonance is observed in the process e(+)e(-) -&gt; p(+)p(-)psi(3686) for the first time with a statistical significance of 5.8 sigma. A charged charmoniumlike structure is observed in the pi(+/-)psi(3686) invariant mass spectrum for data at root s = 4.416 GeV. A fit with an S-wave Breit-Wigner function yields a mass M = 4032.1 +/- 2.4 MeV/c(2), where the errors are statistical only. However, there are still unresolved discrepancies between the fit model and data. The width of the intermediate state varies in a wide range for different kinematic regions within the data set. Therefore, no simple interpretation of the data has been found, and a future data sample with larger statistics and more theoretical input will be required to better understand this issue.</p>
