  • The Visual Object Tracking VOT2015 challenge results
  • 2015
  • Ingår i: Proceedings 2015 IEEE International Conference on Computer Vision Workshops ICCVW 2015. - : IEEE. - 9780769557205 ; , s. 564-586
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The Visual Object Tracking challenge 2015, VOT2015, aims at comparing short-term single-object visual trackers that do not apply pre-learned models of object appearance. Results of 62 trackers are presented. The number of tested trackers makes VOT 2015 the largest benchmark on short-term tracking to date. For each participating tracker, a short description is provided in the appendix. Features of the VOT2015 challenge that go beyond its VOT2014 predecessor are: (i) a new VOT2015 dataset twice as large as in VOT2014 with full annotation of targets by rotated bounding boxes and per-frame attribute, (ii) extensions of the VOT2014 evaluation methodology by introduction of a new performance measure. The dataset, the evaluation kit as well as the results are publicly available at the challenge website(1).

  • A generalized method for the inherent energy performance modeling of machine tools
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: Journal of manufacturing systems. - : Elsevier BV. - 0278-6125 .- 1878-6642. ; 61, s. 406-422
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Machine tools (MTs), as the key equipment of manufacturing systems, have enormous quantities and consume a great amount of energy. However, the diversity of both machines and their energy consumption properties make it difficult to transfer the energy-saving knowledge and services among different MT. To facilitate the initialization configuration of energy-saving services, the inherent energy performance (IEP) is investigated to describe the differences in energy consumption among MTs, and a generalized method for modeling the IEP of MT and its electrical subsystems is proposed. Three key enablers, including generalized experimental design rules, automatic coding, and data processing algorithms, are presented and integrated into a supporting system to reduce the modeling efforts and knowledge requirements. Case studies of an offline manufacturing scenario and an Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled manufacturing scenario were carried out to verify the effectiveness and convenience of the proposed method. The results show that the proposed method can provide essential modeling support for large-scale energy-saving service configurations and energy-efficient MT development.

  • All-Poly(ionic liquid) Membrane-Derived Porous Carbon Membranes : Scalable Synthesis and Application for Photothermal Conversion in Seawater Desalination
  • 2018
  • Ingår i: ACS Nano. - : American Chemical Society (ACS). - 1936-0851 .- 1936-086X. ; 12:11, s. 11704-11710
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Herein, we introduce a straightforward, scalable, and technologically relevant strategy to manufacture charged porous polymer membranes (CPMs) in a controllable manner. The pore sizes and porous architectures of CPMs are well-controlled by rational choice of anions in poly(ionic liquid)s (PILs). Continuously, heteroatom-doped hierarchically porous carbon membrane (HCMs) can be readily fabricated via morphology-maintaining carbonization of as-prepared CPMs. These HCMs, as photothermal membranes, exhibited excellent performance for solar seawater desalination, representing a promising strategy to construct advanced functional nanomaterials for portable water production technologies.

  • Long-Lived Trifluoromethanide Anion: A Key Intermediate in Nucleophilic Trifluoromethylations.
  • 2014
  • Ingår i: Angewandte Chemie - International Edition. - : Wiley. - 1433-7851 .- 1521-3773. ; 53:43, s. 11575-11578
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The trifluoromethanide anion is the postulated key intermediate in nucleophilic trifluoromethylation reactions. However, for more than six decades, the trifluoromethanide anion was widely believed to exist only as a short-lived transient species in the condensed phase. It has now been prepd. in bulk for the first time in THF soln. The trifluoromethanide anion with the [K(18-crown-6)]+ cation was unequivocally characterized by low-temp. 19F and 13C NMR spectroscopy. Its intermediacy in nucleophilic trifluoromethylation reactions was directly evident by its reaction chem. with various electrophilic substrates. Variable-temp. NMR spectroscopy, along with quantum mech. calcns., support the persistence of the trifluoromethanide anion. [on SciFinder(R)]

  • The Trifluoromethyl Group as a Conformational Stabilizer and Probe: Conformational Analysis of Cinchona Alkaloid Scaffolds.
  • 2014
  • Ingår i: Journal of the American Chemical Society. - : American Chemical Society (ACS). - 1520-5126 .- 0002-7863. ; 136:29, s. 10418-10431
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The introduction of the CF3 group on the C9 atom in quinidine can significantly increase the conformational interconversion barrier of the cinchona alkaloid scaffold. With this modification the conformational behavior of cinchona alkaloids in various solvents can be conveniently studied via 19F NMR spectroscopy. Based on the reliable conformational distribution information obtained, the accuracy of both theor. (PCM) and empirical (Kamlet-Taft) solvation models was assessed using linear free energy relation methods. The empirical solvation model provides accurate prediction of solvent effects, while PCM demonstrated a relatively low reliability. Using similar empirical solvation models along with Karplus-type equations, the conformational behavior of quinidine and 9-epi-quinidine also was studied. A model SN2 reaction was presented to reveal the important role of solvent-induced conformational behavior of cinchona alkaloids in their reactivity. [on SciFinder(R)]

  • The Nucleophilicity of Persistent α-Monofluoromethide Anions.
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: Angewandte Chemie - International Edition. - : Wiley. - 1433-7851 .- 1521-3773. ; 55, s. 12845-12849
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • α-Fluorocarbanions are key intermediates in nucleophilic fluoroalkylation reactions. Although frequently discussed, the origin of the fluorine effect on the reactivity of α-fluorinated CH acids has remained largely unexplored. We have now investigated the kinetics of a series of reactions of α-substituted carbanions with ref. electrophiles to elucidate the effects of α-F, α-Cl, and α-OMe substituents on the nucleophilic reactivities of carbanions. • MTSS1 is downregulated in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) which disrupts adherens junctions leading to enhanced cell migration and invasion
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology. - : Frontiers Media S.A.. - 2296-634X. ; 11
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Loss of cell-cell adhesions is the indispensable first step for cancer cells to depart from the primary tumor mass to metastasize. Metastasis suppressor 1 (MTSS1) is frequently lost in metastatic tissues, correlating to advanced tumor stages and poor prognosis across a variety of cancers. Here we explore the anti-metastatic mechanisms of MTSS1, which have not been well understood. We found that MTSS1 is downregulated in NPC tissues. Lower levels of MTSS1 expression correlate to worse prognosis. We show that MTSS1 suppresses NPC cell migration and invasion in vitro through cytoskeletal remodeling at cell-cell borders and assembly of E-cadherin/beta-catenin/F-actin in adherens junctions. The I-BAR domain of MTSS1 was both necessary and sufficient to restore this formation of E-cadherin/beta-catenin/F-actin-mediated cell adherens junctions.
