    • This paper proposes an alternative perspective on service quality management (SQM) based on the ecosystem of complex and dynamic service environments. First, the ways in which systems thinking and core principles of Quality Management evolved are analysed in order to understand the past, present and the future. Then, by analysing the theories, models and applications of SQM systems and business ecosystems, the paper proposes a framework model for a service ecosystem. The proposed service ecosystem is based on value co-creation that can be utilised to manage service quality and to increase innovability. Through two case studies, the differences between the traditional approach to SQM and the application of ecosystem theory to SQM are compared and reflected. The case studies indicate that ecosystem theory can be used to manage service quality and to achieve success in value co-creation through new innovative practices.

  • Electroless Deposition of 4 μm High Ni/Au Bumps for 8 μm Pitch Interconnection

    • We propose that electroless plating is a superb approach to preparing metallic bumps with an ultrafine pitch for the integration of a micro light-emitting diode (micro-LED). Electroless plating does not suffer from lift-off-related issues, which are ubiquitous in thermal evaporation. Besides, it can result in much more uniform bumps than electroplating because the bump height is not affected by the current distribution. This study reports ultrafine pitch Ni/Au bumps fabricated by electroless nickel immersion gold (ENIG) plating. Furthermore, cheap metals iron and nickel are selected to catalyze the electroless nickel process. The results indicate that uniform and consistent Ni/Au bumps can be obtained through the iron sheet and nickel layer method. Besides, no voids and impurities are found inside the bumps, which is beneficial for the following interconnection process. Moreover, the change in Ni bump height values with the electroless plating time is also provided.

  • Social mindfulness and prosociality vary across the globe

    • Humans are social animals, but not everyone will be mindful of others to the same extent. Individual differences have been found, but would social mindfulness also be shaped by one's location in the world? Expecting cross-national differences to exist, we examined if and how social mindfulness differs across countries. At little to no material cost, social mindfulness typically entails small acts of attention or kindness. Even though fairly common, such low-cost cooperation has received little empirical attention. Measuring social mindfulness across 31 samples from industrialized countries and regions (n = 8,354), we found considerable variation. Among selected country-level variables, greater social mindfulness was most strongly associated with countries' better general performance on environmental protection. Together, our findings contribute to the literature on prosociality by targeting the kind of everyday cooperation that is more focused on communicating benevolence than on providing material benefits.

  • Unveiling the Interfacial Effects for Enhanced Hydrogen Evolution Reaction on MoS2/WTe2 Hybrid Structures

    • Using the MoS2-WTe2 heterostructure as a model system combined with electrochemical microreactors and density function theory calculations, it is shown that heterostructured contacts enhance the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) activity of monolayer MoS2. Two possible mechanisms are suggested to explain this enhancement: efficient charge injection through large-area heterojunctions between MoS2 and WTe2 and effective screening of mirror charges due to the semimetallic nature of WTe2. The dielectric screening effect is proven minor, probed by measuring the HER activity of monolayer MoS2 on various support substrates with dielectric constants ranging from 4 to 300. Thus, the enhanced HER is attributed to the increased charge injection into MoS2 through large-area heterojunctions. Based on this understanding, a MoS2/WTe2 hybrid catalyst is fabricated with an HER overpotential of -140 mV at 10 mA cm(-2), a Tafel slope of 40 mV dec(-1), and long stability. These results demonstrate the importance of interfacial design in transition metal dichalcogenide HER catalysts. The microreactor platform presents an unambiguous approach to probe interfacial effects in various electrocatalytic reactions.
