  • The Seventh Visual Object Tracking VOT2019 Challenge Results
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: 2019 IEEE/CVF INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON COMPUTER VISION WORKSHOPS (ICCVW). - : IEEE COMPUTER SOC. - 9781728150239 ; , s. 2206-2241
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The Visual Object Tracking challenge VOT2019 is the seventh annual tracker benchmarking activity organized by the VOT initiative. Results of 81 trackers are presented; many are state-of-the-art trackers published at major computer vision conferences or in journals in the recent years. The evaluation included the standard VOT and other popular methodologies for short-term tracking analysis as well as the standard VOT methodology for long-term tracking analysis. The VOT2019 challenge was composed of five challenges focusing on different tracking domains: (i) VOT-ST2019 challenge focused on short-term tracking in RGB, (ii) VOT-RT2019 challenge focused on "real-time" short-term tracking in RGB, (iii) VOT-LT2019 focused on long-term tracking namely coping with target disappearance and reappearance. Two new challenges have been introduced: (iv) VOT-RGBT2019 challenge focused on short-term tracking in RGB and thermal imagery and (v) VOT-RGBD2019 challenge focused on long-term tracking in RGB and depth imagery. The VOT-ST2019, VOT-RT2019 and VOT-LT2019 datasets were refreshed while new datasets were introduced for VOT-RGBT2019 and VOT-RGBD2019. The VOT toolkit has been updated to support both standard short-term, long-term tracking and tracking with multi-channel imagery. Performance of the tested trackers typically by far exceeds standard baselines. The source code for most of the trackers is publicly available from the VOT page. The dataset, the evaluation kit and the results are publicly available at the challenge website(1).

  • The Visual Object Tracking VOT2016 Challenge Results
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: COMPUTER VISION - ECCV 2016 WORKSHOPS, PT II. - Cham : SPRINGER INT PUBLISHING AG. - 9783319488813 - 9783319488806 ; , s. 777-823
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The Visual Object Tracking challenge VOT2016 aims at comparing short-term single-object visual trackers that do not apply pre-learned models of object appearance. Results of 70 trackers are presented, with a large number of trackers being published at major computer vision conferences and journals in the recent years. The number of tested state-of-the-art trackers makes the VOT 2016 the largest and most challenging benchmark on short-term tracking to date. For each participating tracker, a short description is provided in the Appendix. The VOT2016 goes beyond its predecessors by (i) introducing a new semi-automatic ground truth bounding box annotation methodology and (ii) extending the evaluation system with the no-reset experiment.

  • A ship safe speed identifying method from risk perspectives in arctic waters
  • 2020
  • Ingår i: Proceedings of the 29th European Safety and Reliability Conference, ESREL 2019. - Singapore : Research Publishing Services. ; , s. 1874-1880
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Increasingly melting of sea ice in the Arctic makes it possible for merchant ships with or without ice class to sail along the North Sea Routes, in particular during the summer seasons. However, ships sailing in the Arctic may still encounter thick (brash or level) ice in certain areas. It can challenge a ship's sailing safety. For safety concern, the ship speed selection is recognized as one of the leading challenges for the operators in the Arctic area. To figure out safe speed selection problem, the two most common accident scenarios- ice stuck and ship-ice collision have been analyzed. Through installing this risk analysis model, the safe speed under various ice conditions can be identified and the relevant results can provide beneficial information on speed selection for Arctic ships.

  • Comparison between Full-scale Measurements and Theoretical Fuel Consumption Model in a Real Arctic Ship Navigation
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: Proceedings of the International Offshore and Polar Engineering Conference. - 1098-6189 .- 1555-1792. - 9781880653852 ; 1, s. 886-892
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Due to the global warming and the continuous decline of Arctic sea ice, maritime transport in the Arctic region has been increased dramatically. While operating in the Arctic area, ships face regular environment loads and ice loads synchronously, the consideration of ice resistance is essential for the fuel consumption estimation in the ice-covered water voyage. In this paper, a theoretical fuel consumption model is proposed based on empirical method for ship sailing through the Arctic route. The results are compared with the full-scale measurements in a real Arctic ship navigation, and discussed with regards to uncertainties and the prediction capacity of the fuel consumption model. The encountered sea states and ice thickness are constructed by hindcast reanalysis data and climate model projections.

  • Review of ship navigation safety in ice-covered waters
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: 6th International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety: New Infrastructure Construction for Better Transportation, ICTIS 2021. ; , s. 613-621
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The development and utilization of Arctic waterways make maritime transportation more convenient, but it also faces significant challenges. To grasp state of the art and the practice of navigation safety in ice-covered waters, we discussed the research contents and methods of navigation in ice-covered waters from four aspects: 1) risk assessment for ice-going ships, 2) ship following strategy under icebreaker assistance, 3) route planning, and 4) emergency rescue in ice-covered waters. Finally, future research trends are proposed for the development of navigation safety in ice-covered waters.

  • Can Solar Energy be an Alternative Choice of Milk Production in Dairy Farms? : -A Case study of Integrated PVWP System with Alfalfa and Milk Production in Dairy Farms in China
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: 8th International Conference on Applied Energy, ICAE 2016; Beijing; China; 8 October 2016 through 11 October 2016. - : Elsevier. ; 105, s. 3953-3959
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • As China's dairy consumption grows, both the domestic milk production and the importation of dairy products are increasing to meet market demands. The objective of this study was to quantify electricity usage and cost of milk production with data analysis of dairy farms and evaluate the potential alternative energy supply-solar energy generated by PV water pumping system (PVWP). We collected data in milk production processes from 11 dairy farms in China. By selecting the optimal dairy farm, we simulate the scenario of solar power generation with PVWP system to provide power both for milk and alfalfa production. With estimations of electricity saving, economic cost saving and CO2 saving on every kg milk produced under PVWP system, we conclude that scenario PVWP with alfalfa and milk production can results in value add-ins, new sources of revenue, energy supply and emission reductions.
