  • Energy Levels, Transition Rates and Electron Impact Excitation Rates for the B-like Isoelectronic Sequence with Z=24-30
  • 2018
  • Ingår i: Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series. - : Bibliopolis, Edizioni di Filosofia e Scienze. - 0067-0049 .- 1538-4365. ; 239:1
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We report calculations of spectroscopic accuracy for 513 states in the B-like ions with Z = 24-30. The energy levels and transition rates are calculated using the second-order many-body perturbation theory, while multiconfiguration Dirac-Hartree-Fock calculations are performed to support the former results. The present two sets of results agree excellently with each other, and can be used as benchmarks in the future. The electron-impact excitation (EIE) collision strengths are calculated based on independent processes and isolated resonances approximation using the distorted wave method. Based on the present atomic data, the spectral lines of these ions are simulated using a collisional radiative model. The amount of energy, transition data, and EIE collision strengths of high accuracy are significantly increased for several B-like ions of astrophysical interest, where experimental data are still very scarce. The results can be used in line identification, plasma modeling, and diagnostics of astrophysical plasmas.

  • Large-scale Multiconfiguration Dirac-Hartree-Fock Calculations for Astrophysics : C-like Ions from O iii to Mg vii
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series. - : IOP Publishing Ltd. - 0067-0049 .- 1538-4365. ; 260:2, s. 1-23
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Large-scale multiconfiguration Dirac-Hartree-Fock calculations are provided for the n <= 5 states in C-like ions from O iii to Mg vii. Electron correlation effects are accounted for by using large configuration state function expansions, built from sets of orbitals with principal quantum numbers n <= 10. An accurate and complete data set of excitation energies, wavelengths, radiative transition parameters, and lifetimes is offered for the 156 (196, 215, 272, 318) lowest states of the 2s (2)2p (2), 2s2p (3), 2p (4), 2s (2)2p3s, 2s (2)2p3p, 2s (2)2p3d, 2s2p (2)3s, 2s2p (2)3p, 2s2p (2)3d, 2p (3)3s, 2p (3)3p, 2p (3)3d, 2s (2)2p4s, 2s (2)2p4p, 2s (2)2p4d, 2s (2)2p4f, 2s2p (2)4s, 2s2p (2)4p, 2s2p (2)4d, 2s2p (2)4f, 2s (2)2p5s, 2s (2)2p5p, 2s (2)2p5d, 2s (2)2p5f, and 2s (2)2p5g configurations in O iii (F iv, Ne v, Na vi, Mg vii). By comparing available experimental wavelengths with the MCDHF results, the previous line identifications for the n = 5, 4, 3 -> n = 2 transitions of Na vi in the X-ray and EUV wavelength range are revised. For several previous identifications discrepancies are found, and tentative new (or revised) identifications are proposed. A consistent atomic data set including both energy and transition data with spectroscopic accuracy is provided for the lowest hundreds of states for C-like ions from O iii to Mg vii.

  • Extended calculations with spectroscopic accuracy : Energy levels and radiative rates for O-like ions between Ar XI and Cr XVII
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: Atomic Data and Nuclear Data Tables. - : Elsevier. - 0092-640X .- 1090-2090. ; 138
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Using the multiconfiguration Dirac-Hartree-Fock and the relativistic configuration interaction methods, a consistent set of transition energies and radiative transition data for the main states of the 2s(2)2p(4), 2s2p(5), 2p(6), 2s(2)2p(3)3s, 2s(2)2p(3)3p, 2s(2)2p(3)3d, 2s2p(4)3s, 2s2p(4)3p, and 2s2p(4)3d configurations in O-like Ions between Ar XI (Z = 18) and Cr XVII (Z = 24) is provided. Our data set is compared with the NIST compiled values and previous calculations. The data are accurate enough for identification and deblending of new emission lines from hot astrophysical and laboratory plasmas. The amount of data of high accuracy is significantly increased for the n = 3 states of several O-like ions, where experimental data are very scarce. (c) 2020 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

  • Installation of O-glycan sulfation capacities in human HEK293 cells for display of sulfated mucins
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: Journal of Biological Chemistry. - : Elsevier. - 0021-9258 .- 1083-351X. ; 298:2
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The human genome contains at least 35 genes that encode Golgi sulfotransferases that function in the secretory pathway, where they are involved in decorating glycosaminoglycans, glycolipids, and glycoproteins with sulfate groups. Although a number of important interactions by proteins such as Selectins, Galectins, and Siglecs are thought to mainly rely on sulfated O-glycans, our insight into the sulfotransferases that modify these glycoproteins, and in particular GalNAc-type O-glycoproteins, is limited. Moreover, sulfated mucins appear to accumulate in respiratory diseases, arthritis, and cancer. To explore further the genetic and biosynthetic regulation of sulfated O-glycans, here we expanded a cell-based glycan array in the human HEK293 cell line with sulfation capacities. We stably engineered O-glycan sulfation capacities in HEK293 cells by site-directed knock-in of sulfotransferase genes in combination with knockout of genes to eliminate endogenous O-glycan branching (core2 synthase gene GCNT1) and/or sialylation capacities in order to provide simplified substrates (core1 Galβ1-3GalNAcα1-O-Ser/Thr) for the introduced sulfotransferases. Expression of the galactose 3O-sulfotransferase 2 (GAL3ST2) in HEK293 cells resulted in sulfation of core1 and core2 O-glycans, whereas expression of galactose 3O-sulfotransferase 4 (GAL3ST4) resulted in sulfation of core1 only. We used the engineered cell library to dissect the binding specificity of galectin-4 and confirmed binding to the 3-O-sulfo-core1 O-glycan. This is a first step towards expanding the emerging cell-based glycan arrays with the important sulfation modification for display and production of glycoconjugates with sulfated O-glycans.

  • Energy levels, lifetimes and radiative rates for transitions in the bromine isoelectronic sequence La XXIII-Dy XXXII, W XL
  • 2018
  • Ingår i: Atomic Data and Nuclear Data Tables. - : Elsevier. - 0092-640X .- 1090-2090. ; 123, s. 114-167
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Using the multiconfiguration Dirac-Fock method, calculations for the lowest 62 levels of the ([Ar] 3d(10))4s(2) 4p(5), ([Ar] 3d(10))4s(2)4p(3)4d(2), ([Ar] 3d(10))4s(2)4p(4)4d, ([Ar] 3d(10))4s4p(6), and ([Ar] 3d(10))4s4p(5)4d configurations are performed for the bromine isoelectronic sequence La XXIII-Dy XXXII, W XL. Results of energy levels, lifetimes, wavelengths, and electric dipole, magnetic dipole, electric quadrupole, and magnetic quadrupole radiative rates are presented. In order to assess the accuracy of results, independent calculations for W XL have been carried out using the many-body perturbation theory (MBPT) method. Comparisons are made with available theoretical results from other calculations and the observed values of the Atomic Spectra Database of the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Energy levels are estimated to be accurate to better than 1%, and radiative rates (and lifetimes) are accurate to better than 20% for a majority of strong transitions. These results should be useful in many applications of lanthanide ions related to broad area of research such as applied physics, laser physics and fusion science. (C) 2017 Elsevier Inc. • Extended calculations of energy levels, radiative properties, A(J), B-J hyperfine interaction constants, and Lande g(J)-factors for nitrogen-like Ge XXVI
  • 2018
  • Ingår i: Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy and Radiative Transfer. - : Pergamon Press. - 0022-4073 .- 1879-1352. ; 208, s. 134-151
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Employing two state-of-the-art methods, multiconfiguration Dirac-Hartree-Fock and second-order many body perturbation theory, highly accurate calculations are performed for the lowest 272 fine -structure levels arising from the 2s(2)2p(3), 2s(2)p(4), 2p(5), 2s(2)2p(2)3l (l = s, p, d), 2s2p(3)3l (l = s, p, d), and 2p(4)3l (l = s, p. d) configurations in nitrogen-like Ge XXVI. Complete and consistent atomic data, including excitation energies, lifetimes, wavelengths, hyperfine structures, Lande g(J)-factors, and E1, E2, M1, M2 line strengths, oscillator strengths, and transition rates among these 272 levels are provided. Comparisons are made between the present two data sets, as well as with other available experimental and theoretical values. The present data are accurate enough for identification and deblending of emission lines involving the n = 3 levels, and are also useful for modeling and diagnosing fusion plasmas. • Resonance-enhanced electron-impact excitation of Cu-like gold
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy and Radiative Transfer. - : Pergamon Press. - 0022-4073 .- 1879-1352. ; 198, s. 48-58
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Employing the independent-process and isolated-resonance approximations using distorted-waves (IPIRDW), we have performed a series of calculations of the resonance-enhanced electron-impact excitations (EIE) among 27 singly excited levels from the n <= 6 configurations of Cu-like gold (Au, Z = 79). Resonance excitation (RE) contributions from both the n = 4 -> 4 - 7 and n = 3 -> 4 core excitations have been considered. Our results demonstrate that RE contributions are significant and enhance the effective collision strengths (Upsilon) of certain excitations by up to an order of magnitude at low temperature (10(6.1) K), and are still important at relatively high temperature (10(7.5) K). Results from test calculations of the resonance-enhanced EIE processes among 16 levels from the n <= 5 configurations using both the Dirac R-matrix (DRM) and IPIRDW approaches agree very well with each other. This means that the close coupling effects are not important for this ion, and thus warrants the reliability of present resonance enhanced EIE data among the 27 levels. The results from the collisional-radiative model (CRM) show that, at 3000 eV, near where Cu-like Au is most abundant, RE contributions have important effects (up to 25%) on the density diagnostic line intensity ratios, which are sensitive near 10(20) cm(-3). The present work is the first EIE research including RE contributions for Cu-like Au. Our EIE data are more accurate than previous results due to our consideration of RE contributions, and the data should be helpful for modeling and diagnosing a variety of plasmas. • Benchmarking calculations with spectroscopic accuracy of level energies and wavelengths in W LVII–W LXII tungsten ions
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy and Radiative Transfer. - : Elsevier. - 0022-4073 .- 1879-1352. ; 269
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Atomic properties of n=3 states of the W56+ - W61+ ions are systematically investigated through two state-of-the-art methods, namely, the second-order many-body perturbation theory, and the multi-configuration Dirac–Hartree–Fock method combined with the relativistic configuration interaction approach. The contributions of valence-valence and core-valence electron correlations, the Breit interaction, the higher-order retardation correction beyond the Breit interaction through the transverse photon interaction, and the quantum electrodynamical corrections to the excitation energies are studied in detail. The excitation energies and wavelengths obtained with the two methods agree with each other within ≈0.01%. The present results achieve spectroscopic accuracy and provide a benchmark test for various applications and other theoretical calculations of W56+ - W61+ ions. They will assist spectroscopists in their assignment and direct identification of observed lines in complex spectra.

  • 2021
  • Ingår i: Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series. - : Institute of Physics Publishing (IOPP). - 0067-0049 .- 1538-4365. ; 257:2
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The multiconfiguration Dirac-Hartree-Fock (MCDHF) and relativistic configuration interaction methods are used to provide excitation energies, lifetimes, and radiative transition data for the 604 (699, 702, 704, 704, 704, and 699) lowest levels of the 3s (2)3p (2), 3s3p (3), 3s (2)3p3d, 3p (4), 3s3p (2)3d, 3s (2)3d (2), 3p (3)3d, 3s3p3d (2), 3s3d (3), 3p3d (3), 3p (2)3d (2), 3s (2)3p4s, 3s (2)3p4p, 3s (2)3p4d, 3s (2)3p4f, 3s3p (2)4s, 3s3p (2)4p, 3s3p (2)4d, 3s3p (2)4f, 3s (2)3d4s, 3s (2)3d4p, 3p (3)4s, 3p (3)4p, 3s3p3d4s, 3s (2)3p5s, and 3s (2)3p5p configurations in Cr xi, (Mn xii, Fe xiii, Co xiv, Ni xv, Cu xvi, and Zn xvii). Previous line identifications of Fe xiii and Ni xv in the EUV and X-ray wavelength ranges are reviewed by comprehensively comparing the MCDHF theoretical results with available experimental data. Many recent identifications of Fe xiii and Ni xv lines are confirmed, and several new identifications for these two ions are proposed. A consistent atomic data set with spectroscopic accuracy is provided for the lowest hundreds of levels for Si-like ions of iron-group elements of astrophysical interest, for which experimental values are scarce. The uncertainty estimation method suggested by Kramida, applied to the comparison of the length and velocity line strength values, is used for ranking the transition data. The correlation of the latter with the gauge dependency patterns of the line strengths is investigated.

  • Sloan Digital Sky Survey IV : Mapping the Milky Way, Nearby Galaxies, and the Distant Universe
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: Astronomical Journal. - : IOP Publishing Ltd. - 0004-6256 .- 1538-3881. ; 154:1
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We describe the Sloan Digital Sky Survey IV (SDSS-IV), a project encompassing three major spectroscopic programs. The Apache Point Observatory Galactic Evolution Experiment 2 (APOGEE-2) is observing hundreds of thousands of Milky Way stars at high resolution and. high signal-to-noise ratios in the near-infrared. The Mapping Nearby Galaxies at Apache Point Observatory (MaNGA) survey is obtaining spatially resolved spectroscopy for thousands of nearby galaxies (median z similar to 0.03). The extended Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (eBOSS) is mapping the galaxy, quasar, and neutral gas distributions between z similar to 0.6 and 3.5 to constrain cosmology using baryon acoustic oscillations, redshift space distortions, and the shape of the power spectrum. Within eBOSS, we are conducting two major subprograms: the SPectroscopic IDentification of eROSITA Sources (SPIDERS), investigating X-ray AGNs. and galaxies in X-ray clusters, and the Time Domain Spectroscopic Survey (TDSS), obtaining spectra of variable sources. All programs use the 2.5 m Sloan Foundation Telescope at the. Apache Point Observatory; observations there began in Summer 2014. APOGEE-2 also operates a second near-infrared spectrograph at the 2.5 m du Pont Telescope at Las Campanas Observatory, with observations beginning in early 2017. Observations at both facilities are scheduled to continue through 2020. In keeping with previous SDSS policy, SDSS-IV provides regularly scheduled public data releases; the first one, Data Release 13, was made available in 2016 July.
