  • Effects of Nonradiative Losses at Charge Transfer States and Energetic Disorder on the Open-Circuit Voltage in Nonfullerene Organic Solar Cells
  • 2018
  • Ingår i: Advanced Functional Materials. - : WILEY-V C H VERLAG GMBH. - 1616-301X .- 1616-3028. ; 28:5
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The considerable improvement on the power conversion efficiency (PCE) for emerging nonfullerene polymer solar cells is still limited by considerable voltage losses that have become one of the most significant obstacles in further boosting desired photovoltaic performance. Here, a comprehensive study is reported to understand the impacts of charge transport, energetic disorder, and charge transfer states (CTS) on the losses in open-circuit voltage (V-oc) based on three high performing bulk heterojunction solar cells with the best PCE exceeding 11%. It is found that the champion poly[(2,6-(4,8-bis(5-(2-ethylhexyl)thiophen-2-yl)benzo[1,2-b:4,5-b]dithiophene)-co-(1,3-di(5-thiophene-2-yl)-5,7-bis(2-ethylhexyl)-benzo[1,2-c:4,5-c]dithiophene-4,8-dione))] (PBDB-T):IT-M solar cell (PCE = 11.5%) is associated with the least disorder. The determined energetic disorder in part reconciles the difference in V-oc between the solar cells. A reduction is observed in the nonradiative losses (V-nonrad) coupled with the increase of energy of CTS for the PBDB-T:IT-M device, which may be related to the improved balance in carrier mobilities, and partially can explain the gain in V-oc. The determined radiative limit for V-oc combined with the V-nonrad generates an excellent agreement for the V-oc with the experimental values. The results suggest that minimizing the energetic disorder related to transport and CTS is critical for the mitigation of V-oc losses and improvements on the device performance.

  • Differential expression patterns in chemosensory and non-chemosensory tissues of putative chemosensory genes identified by transcriptome analysis of insect pest the purple stem borer Sesamia inferens (Walker)
  • 2013
  • Ingår i: PLoS ONE. - : Public Library of Science (PLoS). - 1932-6203 .- 1932-6203. ; 8:7
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Background:A large number of insect chemosensory genes from different gene subfamilies have been identified and annotated, but their functional diversity and complexity are largely unknown. A systemic examination of expression patterns in chemosensory organs could provide important information.Methodology/Principal Findings:We identified 92 putative chemosensory genes by analysing the transcriptome of the antennae and female sex pheromone gland of the purple stem borer Sesamia inferens, among them 87 are novel in this species, including 24 transcripts encoding for odorant binding proteins (OBPs), 24 for chemosensory proteins (CSPs), 2 for sensory neuron membrane proteins (SNMPs), 39 for odorant receptors (ORs) and 3 for ionotropic receptors (IRs). The transcriptome analyses were validated and quantified with a detailed global expression profiling by Reverse Transcription-PCR for all 92 transcripts and by Quantitative Real Time RT-PCR for selected 16 ones. Among the chemosensory gene subfamilies, CSP transcripts are most widely and evenly expressed in different tissues and stages, OBP transcripts showed a clear antenna bias and most of OR transcripts are only detected in adult antennae. Our results also revealed that some OR transcripts, such as the transcripts of SNMP2 and 2 IRs were expressed in non-chemosensory tissues, and some CSP transcripts were antenna-biased expression. Furthermore, no chemosensory transcript is specific to female sex pheromone gland and very few are found in the heads. Conclusion:Our study revealed that there are a large number of chemosensory genes expressed in S. inferens, and some of them displayed unusual expression profile in non-chemosensory tissues. The identification of a large set of putative chemosensory genes of each subfamily from a single insect species, together with their different expression profiles provide further information in understanding the functions of these chemosensory genes in S. inferens as well as other insects.

  • High-Throughput Hyperparameter-Free Sparse Source Location for Massive TDM-MIMO Radar : Algorithm and FPGA Implementation
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing. - 0196-2892. ; 61
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The sparse iterative covariance-based estimation (SPICE) algorithm is promising for hyperparameter-free sparse source location for time-division-multiplexing multiple-input-multiple-output (TDM-MIMO) radar systems, with well-documented merits in resolution enhancement and sidelobe suppression. Regrettably, the method typically requires a large number of iterations to converge, each requiring high-dimensional matrix operations, rendering the existing batch SPICE method impractical and expensive to implement in hardware when dealing with massive TDM-MIMO observations. In order to enable real-time processing, this article presents a subaperture-recursive (SAR) SPICE method, allowing for recursively refining the location parameters for each received (RX) block observation that becomes available sequentially in time. The proposed method not only offers the same benefits as the batch SPICE method but also allows for computationally efficient online processing, without the need for high-dimensional matrix operations, notably reducing the required hardware resources as well as processing time. We further present a high-throughput architecture for the resulting method on an XCZU15EG-FFVB1156 field-programmable gate array (FPGA). In combination with simulation results, we demonstrate the effectiveness through experimental data measured by a cascaded MIMO radar system with 12 transmit (TX) and 16 receive (RX) antennas, demonstrating that the computational time of resolving closely spaced sources on 256 predefined grid points can be processed in merely 12 ms.

  • Safety Prediction of Soleplate Corrosion State in Petroleum Storage Tank Based on Grey Theory Model
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: 3rd International Conference on Applied Engineering. - : AIDIC - associazione italiana di ingegneria chimica. - 9788895608433 ; , s. 271-276
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The corrosion protection of petroleum storage tank is important for safety work in petroleum depot. Precise prediction of soleplate corrosion may reflect the security state of a storage tank, and it can provide scientific references to the anti-corrosion and maintenance in safety management. Grey Model GM (1,1) in the Grey Theory is a good prediction method based on small volume of original data, and it is introduced and applied to predict the soleplate corrosion of No. G-2 petroleum storage tank in Luquan oil depot. In order to improving the calculation speed, the GM (1,1) model is programmed by MATLAB and is further utilized in data processing. Compared with the measurements, the prediction results meet them very well, which shows that this model is practical. Meanwhile, the prediction results also reflect the status and the corrosion rate of a petroleum tank which is of great importance for the future safety management and maintenance works. Meanwhile, the GM (1,1) is suitable for wide applications in other relative fields in oil depots.

  • Addressing Initial Power Undershoots in Grid-Forming Converters : The Role of RHP Zero
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: 2023 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition, ECCE 2023. - : Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). ; , s. 1374-1379
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This paper investigates initial undershoots during the power response of grid-forming (GFM) converters. At first, the small signal model of the active power control loops (APC) is established. Based on the analytical model, the locations of the closed-loop RHP zero is utilized to indicate the existence and the peak of the initial undershoots. Subsequently, the impacts of the virtual impedance (VI) control and operating points on the initial power undershoots are comprehensively investigated. It is found that the VI control helps to dampen the oscillation but only has minimal influence on the RHP zero. In addition, the larger active power reference and smaller grid voltage leads to stronger undershoots. Finally, simulation results are presented to verify the accuracy of the established model and analysis.

  • Research on Fire and Explosion Accidents of Oil Depots
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: 3rd International Conference on Applied Engineering. - : AIDIC - associazione italiana di ingegneria chimica. - 9788895608433 ; , s. 163-168
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Fire and explosion accidents occurred frequently in oil depots in China which lead to great casualties, severe environmental pollution and large economic losses. Case studies of 435 fire and explosion accidents of oil depots in China from 1951 to 2013 are reviewed in this paper. From the analysis of time scale, area, facilities & equipment, ignition sources, types of accident substances, and responsibility, the statistic results show that the most dangerous area is the loading and unloading operation area, and the most vulnerable facilities & equipment are the storage tanks. Meanwhile, the proportions of ignition sources are so evenly distributed that the prevention of fire and explosion should be equally concentrated to several impact factors. The vapor cloud explosion could be the most common accident type in oil depots, and the management responsibility dominates in all of the accident causes. According to data analysis, special lessons learned from these accidents are proposed, and the majority of fire and explosion accidents in oil depots would have been prevented or avoided if security management had been improved.
