• Measurements of (XcJ)-> K+K-K+K- decays
• 2006
• Ingår i: Physics Letters B. - 0370-2693. ; 642:3, s. 197-202
• Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
• Using 14M psi(2S) events taken with the BESII detector, chi(cJ) -> 2(K+K-) decays are studied. For the four-kaon final state, the branching fractions are B(chi(c0,1,2) ->.2(K+K-)) = (3.48 +/- 0.23 +/- 0.47) x 10(-3), (0.70 +/- 0.13 +/- 0.10) x 10(-3), and (2.17 +/- 0.20 +/- 0.31) x 10(-3). For the phi K+K- final state, the branching fractions, which are measured for the first time, are B(chi(c0,1,2) -> phi K+K-) = (1.03 +/- 0.22 +/- 0.15) x 10(-3), (0.46 +/- 0.16 +/- 0.06) x 10(-3), and (1.67 +/- 0.26 +/- 0.24) x 10(-4). For the phi phi final state, B(chi(c0,2) -> phi phi) = (0.94 +/- 0.21 +/- 0.13) x 10(-3) and (1.70 +/- 0.30 +/- 0.25) x 10(-3).

• Design of Flip-Chip Interconnect Using Epoxy-Based Underfill Up to V-Band Frequencies With Excellent Reliability
• 2010
• Ingår i: IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques. - 0018-9480. ; 58:8, s. 2244-2250
• Tidskriftsartikel (övrigt vetenskapligt)abstract
• This study demonstrates a flip-chip interconnect with epoxy-based underfill (epsilon(r) = 3.5 and tan delta = 0.02 at 10 MHz) for packaging applications up to V-band frequencies. To achieve the best interconnect performance, both the matching designs on GaAs chip and Al2O3 substrate were adopted with the underfill effects taken into consideration. The optimized flip-chip interconnect showed excellent performance from dc to 67 GHz with return loss below -20 dB and insertion loss less than 0.6 dB. Furthermore, the dielectric loss induced by the underfill was extracted from measurement and compared with the simulation results. The reliability tests including 85 degrees C/85 % relative humidity test, thermal cycling test, and shear force test were performed. For the first time, the S-parameters measurement was performed to check the flip-chip reliability, and no performance decay was observed after 1000 thermal cycles. Moreover, the mechanical strength was improved about 12 times after the underfill was applied. The results show that the proposed flip-chip architecture has excellent reliability and can be applied for commercial applications.

• A search for excited neutrinos in e(-) p collisions at HERA
• 2008
• Ingår i: PHYSICS LETTERS B. - ELSEVIER SCIENCE BV. - 0370-2693. ; 663:5, s. 382-389
• Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
• A search for first generation excited neutrinos is performed using the full e(-) p data sample collected by the HI experiment at HERA at a centre-of-mass energy of 319 GeV, corresponding to a total luminosity of 184 pb(-1). The electroweak decays of excited neutrinos nu* -> nu gamma, v* -> nu Z and nu* -> eW with subsequent hadronic or leptonic decays of the W and Z bosons are considered. No evidence for excited neutrino production is found. Mass dependent exclusion limits on nu* production cross sections and on the ratio of the coupling to the compositeness scale f/boolean AND are derived within gauge mediated models. A limit on f/boolean AND A, independent of the relative couplings to the SU(2) and U(1) gauge bosons, is also determined. These limits extend the excluded region to higher masses than has been possible in previous excited neutrino searches. (c) 2008 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

• DNA microarray study on gene expression profiles in co-cultured endothelial and smooth muscle cells in response to 4- and 24-h shear stress
• 2006
• Ingår i: Molecular and cellular biochemistry. - 0300-8177. ; 281:1-2, s. 1-15
• Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
• Shear stress, a major hemodynamic force acting on the vessel wall, plays an important role in physiological processes such as cell growth, differentiation, remodelling, metabolism, morphology, and gene expression. We investigated the effect of shear stress on gene expression profiles in co-cultured vascular endothelial cells (ECs) and smooth muscle cells (SMCs). Human aortic ECs were cultured as a confluent monolayer on top of confluent human aortic SMCs, and the EC side of the co-culture was exposed to a laminar shear stress of 12 dyn/cm(2) for 4 or 24 h. After shearing, the ECs and SMCs were separated and RNA was extracted from the cells. The RNA samples were labelled and hybridized with cDNA array slides that contained 8694 genes. Statistical analysis showed that shear stress caused the differential expression (p < or = 0.05) of a total of 1151 genes in ECs and SMCs. In the co-cultured ECs, shear stress caused the up-regulation of 403 genes and down-regulation of 470. In the co-cultured SMCs, shear stress caused the up-regulation of 152 genes and down-regulation of 126 genes. These results provide new information on the gene expression profile and its potential functional consequences in co-cultured ECs and SMCs exposed to a physiological level of laminar shear stress. Although the effects of shear stress on gene expression in monocultured and co-cultured EC are generally similar, the response of some genes to shear stress is opposite between these two types of culture (e.g., ICAM-1 is up-regulated in monoculture and down-regulated in co-culture), which strongly indicates that EC-SMC interactions affect EC responses to shear stress.

• High-pressure studies of Nano/sub-micrometer C70 rods
• 2005
• Ingår i: High Energy Physics and Nuclear Physics B. - 0254-3052. ; 29:Supplement, s. 112-115
• Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
• We have successfully synthesized C-70 rods in nano/sub-micrometers scale by evaporating solvent method. The diameter of the as grown C-70 rods is similar to 500 nm, and the length is similar to 10 mu m. The EDXD pattern and Raman spectroscopy for as -grown sample indicate that the as grown C-70 rod is in hcp structure. The pressure-induced structural phase transition has been studied by using DAC combined with EDXD and Raman spectroscopy methods under quasi-hydrostatic pressure up to 26.1GPa. It is found that hcp structure transforms into amorphous phase for C-70 rods in the pressure range from 23.3 to 26.1GPa, which is higher than the transformation pressure for bulk C-70 crystals. The phase transition is irreversible and it is induced by the collapse of C-70 cage.

• Measurement of diffractive scattering of photons with large momentum transfer at HERA
• 2009
• Ingår i: Physics Letters B. - Elsevier Science Bv. - 0370-2693. ; 672:3, s. 219-226
• Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
• The first measurement of diffractive scattering of quasi-real photons with large momentum transfer gamma p -> gamma Y, where Y is the proton dissociative system, is made using the H1 detector at HERA. The measurement is performed for initial photon virtualities Q(2) < 0.01 GeV2. Single differential cross sections are Measured as a function of W, the incident photon-proton centre of mass energy, and t, the square of the four-momentum transferred at the proton vertex, in the range 175 < W < 247 GeV and 4 < |t| < 36 GeV2. The W dependence is well described by a model based on perturbative QCD using a leading logarithmic approximation of the BFKL evolution. The measured |t| dependence is harder than that predicted by the model and those observed in exclusive vector meson production. (C) 2009 Published by Elsevier B.V.

• Measurement of isolated photon production in deep-inelastic scattering at HERA
• 2008
• Ingår i: European Physical Journal C. - Springer Berlin / Heidelberg. - 1434-6044. ; 54:3, s. 371-387
• Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
• The production of isolated photons in deep-inelastic scattering ep -> e gamma X is measured with the H1 detector at HERA. The measurement is performed in the kinematic range of negative four-momentum transfer squared 4 < Q(2)< 150 GeV2 and a mass of the hadronic system W-X > 50 GeV. The analysis is based on a total integrated luminosity of 227 pb(-1). The production cross section of isolated photons with a transverse energy in the range 3 < E-T(gamma)< 10 GeV and pseudorapidity range -1.2 <eta(gamma)< 1.8 is measured as a function of E-T(gamma), eta(gamma) and Q(2). Isolated photon cross sections are also measured for events with no jets or at least one hadronic jet. The measurements are compared with predictions from Monte Carlo generators modelling the photon radiation from the quark and the electron lines, as well as with calculations at leading and next to leading order in the strong coupling. The predictions significantly underestimate the measured cross sections.

• Measurement of the proton structure function F-L(x, Q(2)) at low x
• 2008
• Ingår i: PHYSICS LETTERS B. - ELSEVIER SCIENCE BV. - 0370-2693. ; 665:4, s. 139-146
• Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
• A first measurement is reported of the longitudinal proton structure function FL(X, Q(2)) at the ep collider HERA. It is based on inclusive deep inelastic e(+)p scattering cross section measurements with a positron beam energy of 27.5 GeV and proton beam energies of 920, 575 and 460 GeV. Employing the energy dependence of the cross section, FL is measured in a range of squared four-momentum transfers 12 <= Q2 <=, 90 GeV2 and low Bjorken x 0.00024 <= x <= 0.0036. The F-L values agree with higher order QCD calculations based on parton densities obtained using cross section data previously measured at HERA. (C) 2008 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

• Multi-lepton production at high transverse momenta in ep collisions at HERA
• 2008
• Ingår i: PHYSICS LETTERS B. - ELSEVIER SCIENCE BV. - 0370-2693. ; 668:4, s. 268-276
• Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
• Processes leading to a final state with at least two high transverse momentum leptons (electrons or muons) are studied using the full e(+/-) p data sample collected by the H1 experiment at HERA. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 463 pb(-1). Di-lepton and tri-lepton event classes are investigated. Cross sections of the production of e(+)e(-) and mu(+)mu(-) pairs are derived in a restricted phase space dominated by photon-photon collisions. In general, good agreement is found with Standard Model predictions. Events are observed with a total scalar sum of lepton transverse momenta above 100 GeV where the Standard Model expectation is low. In this region, combining di-lepton and tri-lepton classes, five events are observed in e(+) p collisions, compared to a Standard Model expectation of 0.96 +/- 0.12, while no such event is observed in e(-) p data for 0.64 +/- 0.09 expected.
