  • Study of e(+)e(-) -> omega chi(cJ) at Center of Mass Energies from 4.21 to 4.42 GeV
  • 2015
  • Ingår i: Physical Review Letters. - 0031-9007 .- 1079-7114. ; 114:9
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Based on data samples collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider at nine center of mass energies from 4.21 to 4.42 GeV, we search for the production of e(+)e(-) -> omega chi(cJ) (J = 0, 1, 2). The process e(+)e(-) -> omega chi(c0) is observed for the first time, and the Born cross sections at root s = 4.23 and 4.26 GeV are measured to be (55.4 +/- 6.0 +/- 5.9) and (23.7 +/- 5.3 +/- 3.5) pb, respectively, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. The omega chi(c0) signals at the other seven energies and the e(+)e(-) -> omega chi(c1) and omega chi(c2) signals are not significant, and the upper limits on the cross sections are determined. By examining the omega chi(c0) cross section as a function of center of mass energy, we find that it is inconsistent with the line shape of the Y(4260) observed in e(+)e(-) -> pi(+)pi(-) J/psi Assuming the omega chi(c0) signals come from a single resonance, we extract the mass and width of the resonance to be (4230 +/- 8 +/- 6) MeV/c(2) and (38 +/- 12 +/- 2) MeV, respectively, and the statistical significance is more than 9 sigma.

    • invariant mass spectrum of phi f(0)(980) with a statistical significance of greater than 10 sigma. The corresponding mass and width are determined to be M = 2200 +/- 6(stat) +/- 5(syst) MeV/c(2) and Gamma = 104 +/- 15(stat) +/- 15(syst) MeV, respectively, and the product branching fraction is measured to be B(J/psi ->eta Y(2175), Y(2175)->phi f(0)(980), f(0)(980)->pi(+)pi(-)) = (1.20 +/- 0.14(stat)+/- 0.37(syst))x10(-4). The results are consistent within errors with those of previous experiments. We also measure the branching fraction of J/psi ->phi f(1)(1285) with f(1)(1285)->eta pi(+)pi(-) and set upper limits on the branching fractions for J/psi ->phi eta(1405)/phi X(1835)/phi X(1870) with eta(1405)/X(1835)/X(1870)->eta pi(+)pi(-) at the 90% confidence level.

  • Study of J/Psi -> p(p)over-bar phi at BESIII
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: PHYSICAL REVIEW D. - 2470-0010. ; 93:5
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Using a data sample of 1.31×109 J/ψ events accumulated with the BESIII detector, the decay J/ψ→pp¯ϕ is studied via two decay modes, ϕ→KS0KL0 and ϕ→K+K-. The branching fraction of J/ψ→pp¯ϕ is measured to be B(J/ψ→pp¯ϕ)=[5.23±0.06(stat)±0.33(syst)]×10-5, which agrees well with a previously published measurement, but with a significantly improved precision. No evident enhancement near the pp¯ mass threshold, denoted as X(pp¯), is observed, and the upper limit on the branching fraction of J/ψ→X(pp¯)ϕ→pp¯ϕ is determined to be B(J/ψ→X(pp¯)ϕ→pp¯ϕ)<2.1×10-7 at the 90% confidence level.

  • Study of psi decays to the Xi(-)(Xi)over-bar(+) and Sigma(1385)(-/+)(Sigma)over-bar(1385)(+/-) final states
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: PHYSICAL REVIEW D. - 2470-0010. ; 93:7
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We study the decays of the charmonium resonances J/psi and psi(3686) to the final states Xi(-)(Xi) over bar (+), S(1385)(-/+)(Sigma) over bar (1385)(+/-) based on a single baryon tag method using data samples of (223.7 +/- 1.4) x 10(6) J/psi and (106.4 +/- 0.9) x 10(6) psi(3686) events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. The decay psi(3686) -> Sigma(1385)(-/+)(Sigma) over bar (1385)(+/-) is observed for the first time, and the measurements of the other processes, including the branching fractions and angular distributions, are in good agreement with, and much more precise than, the previously published results. Additionally, the ratios B(psi(3686)->Xi(-)(Xi) over bar (+))/B(J/psi ->Xi(-)(Xi) over bar (+)), B(psi(3686)->Sigma(1385)(-)(Sigma) over bar (1385)(+))/B(J/psi ->Sigma(1385)(-)(Sigma) over bar (1385)(+)) and B(psi(3686)->Sigma(1385)(+)(Sigma) over bar (1385)(-))/B(J/psi ->Sigma(1385)(+)(Sigma) over bar (1385)(-)) are detetmind

  • Establishment of a Large Animal Model for Eustachian Tube Functional Study in Miniature Pigs
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: Anatomical Record Part A-discoveries in Molecular Cellular and Evolutionary Biology. - : WILEY. - 1552-4884 .- 1932-8494. ; 302:6, s. 1024-1038
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This study was performed to investigate whether miniature pigs are a suitable animal model for studies of the Eustachian tube (ET). Sixteen Chinese experimental miniature pigs were used in this investigation. Ten animals were used for anatomical and morphometric analyses to obtain qualitative and quantitative information regarding the ET. Three animals were used for histological analysis to determine the fine structure of ET cross-sections. Three animals were used to investigate the feasibility of balloon dilation of the Eustachian tube (BDET). The anatomical study indicated that the pharyngeal orifice and tympanic orifice of the miniature pig ET are located at the posterior end of the nasal lateral wall and anterior wall of the middle ear cavity, respectively. The cartilaginous tube was seen to pass through the whole length of the ET, the length of the cartilaginous part of the ET and the diameter of the isthmus were similar between humans and miniature pigs. The inclination of the ET in miniature pigs was larger than that in humans. The gross histology seemed to be slightly different between miniature pig and human, but the fine structures were essentially the same in both species. BDET experiments verified that the miniature pig model is suitable as a model for clinical operations. The miniature pig ET corresponds very well to that of humans. In addition, the miniature pig ET is suitable as a model for clinical operations. Therefore, the miniature pig is a valid animal model for ET study.

  • Realizing Efficient Charge/Energy Transfer and Charge Extraction in Fullerene-Free Organic Photovoltaics via a Versatile Third Component
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: Nano letters (Print). - : AMER CHEMICAL SOC. - 1530-6984 .- 1530-6992. ; 19:8, s. 5053-5061
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Solution-processed organic photovoltaics (OPVs) based on bulk-heterojunctions have gained significant attention to alleviate the increasing demend of fossil fuel in the past two decades. OPVs combined of a wide bandgap polymer donor and a narrow bandgap nonfullerene acceptor show potential to achieve high performance. However, there are still two reasons to limit the OPVs performance. One, although this combination can expand from the ultraviolet to the near-infrared region, the overall external quantum efficiency of the device suffers low values. The other one is the low open-circuit voltage (V-OC) of devices resulting from the relatively downshifted lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) of the narrow bandgap. Herein, the approach to select and incorporate a versatile third component into the active layer is reported. A third component with a bandgap larger than that of the acceptor, and absorption spectra and LUMO levels lying within that of the donor and acceptor, is demonstrated to be effective to conquer these issues. As a result, the power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) are enhanced by the elevated short-circuit current and V-OC; the champion PCEs are 11.1% and 13.1% for PTB7-Th:IEICO-4F based and PBDB-T:Y1 based solar cells, respectively.

  • Effects of diabetes definition on global surveillance of diabetes prevalence and diagnosis: a pooled analysis of 96 population-based studies with 331288 participants
  • 2015
  • Ingår i: The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology. - 2213-8595 .- 2213-8587. ; 3:8, s. 624-637
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Background Diabetes has been defined on the basis of different biomarkers, including fasting plasma glucose (FPG), 2-h plasma glucose in an oral glucose tolerance test (2hOGTT), and HbA(1c). We assessed the effect of different diagnostic definitions on both the population prevalence of diabetes and the classification of previously undiagnosed individuals as having diabetes versus not having diabetes in a pooled analysis of data from population-based health examination surveys in different regions. Methods We used data from 96 population-based health examination surveys that had measured at least two of the biomarkers used for defining diabetes. Diabetes was defined using HbA(1c) (HbA(1c) >= 6 . 5% or history of diabetes diagnosis or using insulin or oral hypoglycaemic drugs) compared with either FPG only or FPG-or-2hOGTT definitions (FPG >= 7 . 0 mmol/L or 2hOGTT >= 11 . 1 mmol/L or history of diabetes or using insulin or oral hypoglycaemic drugs). We calculated diabetes prevalence, taking into account complex survey design and survey sample weights. We compared the prevalences of diabetes using different definitions graphically and by regression analyses. We calculated sensitivity and specificity of diabetes diagnosis based on HbA1c compared with diagnosis based on glucose among previously undiagnosed individuals (ie, excluding those with history of diabetes or using insulin or oral hypoglycaemic drugs). We calculated sensitivity and specificity in each survey, and then pooled results using a random-effects model. We assessed the sources of heterogeneity of sensitivity by meta-regressions for study characteristics selected a priori. Findings Population prevalence of diabetes based on FPG- or-2hOGTT was correlated with prevalence based on FPG alone (r= 0 . 98), but was higher by 2-6 percentage points at different prevalence levels. Prevalence based on HbA(1c) was lower than prevalence based on FPG in 42 . 8% of age-sex-survey groups and higher in another 41 . 6%; in the other 15 . 6%, the two definitions provided similar prevalence estimates. The variation across studies in the relation between glucose-based and HbA(1c)-based prevalences was partly related to participants' age, followed by natural logarithm of per person gross domestic product, the year of survey, mean BMI, and whether the survey population was national, subnational, or from specific communities. Diabetes defined as HbA(1c) 6 . 5% or more had a pooled sensitivity of 52 . 8% (95% CI 51 . 3-54 . 3%) and a pooled specificity of 99 . 74% (99 . 71-99 . 78%) compared with FPG 7 . 0 mmol/L or more for diagnosing previously undiagnosed participants; sensitivity compared with diabetes defined based on FPG-or-2hOGTT was 30 . 5% (28 . 7-32 . 3%). None of the preselected study-level characteristics explained the heterogeneity in the sensitivity of HbA(1c) versus FPG. Interpretation Different biomarkers and definitions for diabetes can provide different estimates of population prevalence of diabetes, and differentially identify people without previous diagnosis as having diabetes. Using an HbA(1c)-based definition alone in health surveys will not identify a substantial proportion of previously undiagnosed people who would be considered as having diabetes using a glucose-based test.
