- gamma-spectroscopy methods have been used to search for microsecond isomers among the fragmentation products of a 1 GeV/nucleon Pb-208 beam. In particular the population of the known K-pi = 35/2(-) isomer in W-179 has been investigated and several new isomeric decays have been found for neutron rich nuclei in the A approximate to 180-200 mass region. The ground state band of the neutron rich N = 116 system of W-190 has been identified for the first time and we discuss its structure in comparison to neighboring systems.

A New us Isomer in 136Sb Produced in the Projectile Fission of 238U

Ingår i: European Physical Journal A. Hadrons and Nuclei. - 1434-6001. ; 11, s. 9-13

Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
- The neutron-rich isotope Sb-136 has been produced following the relativistic projectile fission of U-238 in an experiment performed at the Fragment Separator at GSI, Darmstadt. Delayed gamma -ray spectroscopy of the fission products has been performed after isotope separation. A new isomeric state in Sb-136 has been populated, and its lifetime measured as T-1/2 = 565(50) ns. Realistic and empirical shell-model calculations have been performed and are compared to the experimental observables.

Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
- We have studied the structure of light neutron-rich nuclei around N = 16 by employing the in-beam gamma-ray spectroscopy technique using the fragmentation of secondary beams of Ne-25,Ne-26, Na-27,Na-28 and Mg-29,Mg-30 isotopes. This secondary-beam cocktail was obtained by the fragmentation of a 36 S beam at 77.5 MeV.A by the SISSI/GANIL facility. By a second-step fragmentation, we have measured gamma-ray-residue coincidences in C17-20 and O-23,O-24 and described the obtained levels in the framework of the shell model.

Band-terminating states in Ag-101

Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
- Excited states of the neutron deficient Ag-101 nucleus have been investigated via the Cr-50(Ni-58, 3rho1alpha) heavy-ion induced reaction at 261 meV by use of in-beam spectroscopic methods. On the basis of the measured gammagamma-cincidence relations and angular distribution ratios high-spin bands have been extended up to I-pi = 35/2(+), 45/2((-)) and (49/2(-)). The negative parity states at the highest energy have been interpreted as terminating non-collective oblate states in the framework of the Nilsson-Strutinsky cranking formalism.

Maximally aligned states in Ag-99

Ingår i: European Physical Journal A. Hadrons and Nuclei. - : Springer Science and Business Media LLC. - 1434-6001 .- 1434-601X. ; 16:2, s. 171-175

Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
- Excited states of Ag-99 were populated via the Cr-50 + Ni-58 (261 MeV) reaction using the NORDBALL detector array equipped with charged-particle and neutron. detector systems for reaction channel separation. On the basis of the measured gammagamma-coincidence relations and angular distribution ratios a significantly extended level scheme has been constructed up to E-x similar to 7.8 MeV and I = 35/2. The experimental results were described within the framework of the shell model. Candidates for states fully aligned in the pig(9/2)(-3)nu(d(5/2),g(7/2))(2) valence configuration space were found at 4109 and 6265 keV.
