Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
- We report on the first spectroscopic study of the N = 22 nucleus 32Ne at the newly completed RIKEN Radioactive Ion Beam Factory. A single γ-ray line with an energy of 722(9) keV was observed in both inelastic scattering of a 226 MeV=u 32Ne beam on a carbon target and proton removal from 33Na at 245 MeV=u. This transition is assigned to the deexcitation of the first Jπ = 2+ state in 32Ne to the 0+ ground state. Interpreted through comparison with state-of-the-art shell-model calculations, the low excitation energy demonstrates that the ‘‘island of inversion’’ extends to at least N = 22 for the Ne isotopes.

Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
- The excitation function for the elastic-scattering reaction p( 18 Ne, p) 18 Ne was measured with the first radioactive beam from the SPIRAL facility at the GANIL laboratory and with a solid cryogenic hydrogen target. Several broad resonances have been observed, corresponding to new excited states in the unbound nucleus 19 Na. In addition, two-proton emission events have been identified and are discussed.

Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
- We report a genome-wide association study in 10,286 cases and 9,135 controls of European ancestry in the Cancer Genetic Markers of Susceptibility (CGEMS) initiative. We identify a new association with prostate cancer risk on chromosome 8q24 (rs620861, P = 1.3 x 10(-10), heterozygote OR = 1.17, 95% CI 1.10-1.24; homozygote OR = 1.33, 95% CI 1.21-1.45). This defines a new locus associated with prostate cancer susceptibility on 8q24.
