  • International Journal of Neuroprotection and Neuroregeneration : IJNN
  • 2004
  • Samlingsverk (redaktörskap) (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • The Journal is establishedThe 2nd issue sets an example of the rapid recognition of IJNN as a lead journal in the field. This is evident by enormous interest and enthusiasm shown by the contributors and the reviewers to submit their original contributions and evaluation reports, respectively within the shortest possible time. The journal has perhaps created history in the field of reviewing as one of the reviewers has submitted his expert comments within 4 hours after the receipt of the manuscript! On behalf of the publisher and the August Editorial Board, I salute Dr. Michael Aschner (USA) for his dedication to neuroscience and his services to the scientific community.Another important feature of the 2nd issue is the expansion of the Editorial Board that includes 8 new top-ranking neuroscientists including one of the highly cited authors. The formal "Manuscript Evaluation Forms" is ratified and approved by the new Editorial Board with minor amendments. I am sure that "Manuscript Evaluation Forms" that is included in this issue will help both the contributors and the reviewers for maintaining the highest scientific standards of publication. The editorial policy is to publish manuscripts rapidly that deal with any kind of studies on Neuroprotection and Neuroregeneration in the widest sense. We believe that new knowledge should be dissipated to the scientific community as quickly as possible for the benefits of human society in general, and the persons engaged in treating CNS disorders in particular. Our editorial team is working hard to publish original reports within 3 months of its receipt at our offices. In this issue, we have achieved this target. On this accomplishment, our reviewers should be commended. We feel that a good model or method is highly necessary for studies on Neuroprotection and Neuroregeneration. Thus, we encourage manuscripts dealing with Methods or Models that may have a direct or indirect impact on the studies on Neuroprotection and Neuroregeneration. In this regard, manuscripts describing influence of drugs on the CNS are highly welcome. In addition, the newly emerging field of structural and functional changes in the CNS in drug abuse requires our attention for the development of suitable therapeutic strategies. I hope that this kind of research will open a new avenue for drug development to minimize human sufferings in the near future.I am sure that this issue of the journal will provide new knowledge on the above aspects and will form the basis for neuroscientists to discuss new perspective of Neuroprotection and Neuroregeneration in various diseases.Hari Shanker SharmaEditor-in-Chief
