- Radiation cystitis is a rare disease, appearing as the result of radiation of pelvic tumors. We support mathematically the recognition of the most efficacious treatments, which reduce the impact of symptoms typical of the illness. To permute the therapies in the ordering, commencing with the optimal therapy, we apply the fuzzy decision making model furnished with finite fuzzy sets. These act as measures of the treatment effectiveness-utility. In the solution, we adopt the older operations on fuzzy sets of type 1, which make the model simple to be easily converted into a computer program.

- This paper presents two new approaches for finding the homogenized coefficients of multiscale elliptic PDEs. Standard approaches for computing the homogenized coefficients suffer from the so-called resonance error, originating from a mismatch between the true and the computational boundary conditions. Our new methods, based on solutions of parabolic and elliptic cell problems, result in an exponential decay of the resonance error.

Gaussian Coarse Graining of a Master Equation Extension of Clarke's Model

- We study the error and computational cost of generating outputsignal realizations for the channel model of a moving receiver in a scatteringenvironment, as in Clarke’s model, with the extension that scatterers randomlyflip on and off. At micro scale, the channel is modeled by a Multipath FadingChannel (MFC) model, and by coarse graining the micro scale model we derivea macro scale Gaussian process model. Four algorithms are presented for gen-erating stochastic signal realizations, one for the MFC model and three for theGaussian process model. A computational cost comparison of the presentedalgorithms indicates that Gaussian process algorithms generate signal realiza-tions more efficiently than the MFC algorithm does. Numerical examples ofgenerating signal realizations in time independent and time dependent scatter-ing environments are given, and the problem of estimating model parametersfrom real life signal measurements is also studied.

Finansierat av Vetenskapsrådet och NAVET.Kalkylatorn programmerades efter noggrann livscykelanalys (LCA) av Lina Perssons forskningsaktiviteter samt studenters examensfilmer vid film och mediainstitutionen. Metodrapporten finns på dokumentets sista sida.Syftet var att öka förståelsen för klimatavtrycket av filmproduktionens olika delar och ge konkreta verktyg för att transformera filmproduktioner och dess konstnärliga processer till mer hållbara. Målet är att verktygen skall användas i SKH’s undervisning och av aktörer i filmbranschen och det konstnärliga fältet.
