- The sculpture EP9 Starlight Reserves was installed in Amerikadammen in Göteborgs Botaniska Trädgård and part of GIBCA Extended 2023. This work is situated in the expanded field of sculpture, where the negotiation with a specific situation plays a central role in material investigations of environmental and sustainability concerns. The shape and title of the sculpture derive from the container of old batteries, "Exposed Pallet 9," which the International Space Station launched into space in 2021 to circulate around the Earth for 2-4 years before entering the Earth's atmosphere and hopefully burn up. [1] Commercial interests, colonization, and tourism led by rich nations and private companies contribute to the increase of space debris. The main inquiry of this research project is how artistic work, through visualization in sculptural form, can draw attention to scientific observations and advocacy in establishing international environmental space law concerning space debris. By using recycled plastic from electronic scrap for the large-scale IRBAM printing of the sculpture, the work highlights the potential for sustainable and ephemeral materials in sculptural production to promote environmental awareness and question the validity of the standard requirement for "permanence" in public sculpture. 3D printing in collaboration with Samuel Johansson and Woodrow Wiest RISE – AM center in Mölndal, Sweden with in-kind funding. - This video is devoted to show the way in which popular urban planning works with the program Barrio Nuevo Barrio Tricolor in the popular districs of Barrio Nuevo, Bucaral, Bello Campo and La Cruz, in the municipality of Chacao, State of Miranda, Republica Bolivariana de Venezuela.In the video the participants explain the way in which they perceive the ambitions of the housing program from a participatory and communitarian perspective. There are examples of the complementary division of labour among men and women. In the international debate it has been stressed the displacement of politics. In this particular case this displacement implies the way in which new and popular forms of decision making emerges, for example the “Salas de Batalla Socialista”. As in other instances of participation the role of women is crucial to advance the coordination of the work. - Med utställningen Människan i skogen, skogen i människan vill projektet belysa ett antal aktuella och viktiga frågor för vår region och samtid, samlade under ett tema: skog och hållbar utveckling. I utställningen får besökaren möta kunskap och perspektiv från fem forskare och forskargrupper vid Mittuniversitetet. Forskarna är verksamma inom biologi, ekoteknik, historia, litteraturvetenskap respektive turismvetenskap. Forskningens olika perspektiv länkas i utställningen samman genom sina förhållningssätt till tid, såsom avgörande för förståelse, kunskap och handling. De olika forskningsinriktningarna visar också fram spänningar mellan olika synsätt på skog och kan tillsammans ge flera svar och berättelser om skogens värden. En arbetsgrupp vid Universitetsbiblioteket står för gestaltning och produktion av utställningen.

Iconoclastic controversies exhibition : A visual sociology of statues and commemoration sites in the southern part of Cyprus

- The photographs, taken in the southern regions of Cyprus, investigate the monuments, landmarks and statues that are part of the everyday life of Greek Cypriots. “The statues are vehicles of communication. They are vehicles of ideology, of information. It’s the entire object that also becomes a medium”, explains the professor.These photographs analyse how statues and commemoration sites narrate and frame the Cyprus Problem, and how they in many cases contain references to the “Self” and the “Other” by presenting a heroic “self” to the “own” community, or by showing the suffering of the “self”. But the exhibition also investigates how some (exceptional) statues undermine this presentation of the “self” and offer a different narrative of the conflict, and the identities of the people involved. “The logics of war and conflict often makes us believe that there is a homogenous community that is identical. And that is part of the problem, actually, because it hides the diversity that is so important. Showing these internal differences is very important in dealing with conflicts like in the Cyprus Problem”, notes professor Carpentier. He continues: “the project shows how important and how traumatic the Cyprus Problem is. The Cyprus Problem scratched the Cyprus soul, it really went very deep. The statues are ways of dealing with that”.

Situated Writing as Theory and Method : The Untimely Academic Novella

- This creative and original book develops a framework for situated writing as theory and method, and presents a trilogy of untimely academic novellas as exemplars of the uses of situated writing. It is an inter- and trans-disciplinary book in which a diversity of forms are used to create a set of interwoven novellas, inspired by poststructuralist and postcolonial feminist theory and literary fiction, along with narrative life writing genres such as diaries and letters, memory work, poetic writing, and photography. The book makes use of a politics of location, situated knowledges, diffraction, and intersectionality theories to promote situated writing as a theory and method for exploring the complexity of social life through gender, whiteness, class, and spatial location. It addresses writing as an inter- and trans-disciplinary form of scholarship in its own right, with emancipatory potential, emphasising the role of writing in shaping creative, critical, and reflexive approaches to research, education, and professional practice. It is useful for researchers, teachers, postgraduate and PhD students in feminist and intersectionality studies, narrative studies, and pursuing interdisciplinary approaches across the humanities, social sciences, design, and the arts to inspire a theory and method for situated writing.

- Studier visar att intresset för teknikämnet i skolan sjunker dramatiskt bland flickor mellan årskurs 5 och årskurs 8. Är det verkligen så att flickor tappar allt intresse för teknik eller visar siffrorna på något annat? Ulrika Sultan, doktorand i teknikens didaktik vid Institutionen för samhälls- och välfärdsstudier vid Linköpings universitet, menar att flickor ÄR intresserade av teknik och GÖR teknik hela tiden, men att de inte definierar det de gör som teknik.Arbetsgivarorganisationen Teknikföretagen lyfter fram att för att Sverige ska kunna behålla sin position i framkant när det gäller industriell utveckling och innovation behövs en breddad rekrytering till tekniska yrken.Utställningen tar med besökaren till miljöer där kvinnor, flickor och tjejer i olika åldrar rör sig i teknikens värld. - Denna antologi har sin grund i arbetet med projektet MIUN Research Exhibition: Upplevelsebara forskningsutställningar i det fysiska och digitala biblioteksrummet, som under åren 2020-2022 pågick vid Mittuniversitetet. I antologin skriver samtliga medlemmar i projektgruppen ett eller flera kapitel med utgångspunkt i den roll som var och en har haft inom projektet. Syftet med antologin är att samla och dokumentera erfarenheter från arbetet med projektet. Därigenom är antologin ett forum för en avslutande reflektionsprocess för oss som nu under flera år har arbetat med att utarbeta och prova de modeller för forskningskommunicerande utställningar i det fysiska och digitala biblioteksrummet som utgör projektets kärna. Med antologin vill vi också bidra till den kunskapsbank som är på väg att växa fram om hur universitetsbibliotek kan initiera och skapa utställningar med utgångspunkt i forskning som bedrivs vid det egna lärosätet, och därmed bli aktörer på ämnesfältet forskningskommunikation. Antologin har mot denna bakgrund flera målgrupper. Med en förhoppning om att våra erfarenheter kan komma andra till nytta vänder vi oss till kollegor vid andra lärosäten som vill, eller redan är i gång med att, utforma sina egna forskningskommunicerande utställningar. Vi ser gärna att antologin blir ett inlägg i ett kontinuerligt samtal om hur forskningskommunikation kan bedrivas i utställningsformat och i samverkan mellan universitetsbibliotek och andra enheter vid våra lärosäten. På så sätt kan antologin också ses som ett inlägg i diskussionen om forskningskommunikationens olika format och vilka inom universitetsvärlden som är, kan vara eller borde vara aktörer i forskningskommunicerande processer.
