  • Hur skapas demokratier? : Förklaring av demokratispridning genom systemdynamisk simulering
  • 2008
  • Ingår i: Tvärsnitt : humanistisk och samhällsvetenskaplig forskning. - : Humanistisk-samhällsvetenskapliga forskningsrådet (HSFR). - 0348-7997. ; 8:4, s. 36-39

  • Something is sustainable in the state of Denmark : A review of the Danish district heating sector
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: Renewable & sustainable energy reviews. - Oxford : Elsevier. - 1364-0321 .- 1879-0690. ; 158
  • Forskningsöversikt (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This paper provides a coherent review of district heating in Denmark, exploring past, present and future perspectives. Danish district heating is known as unique internationally in terms of heat planning strategies, technical solutions and combinations, energy efficiency and sustainability, ownership models and financing, and it has captured the attention of district heating communities and stakeholders worldwide from the early days. Historically, a ban on landfills incentivised waste incineration, and the strategic integration of combined heat and power plants and recycling of waste heat from industry all increased energy efficiency in the energy system. Ultimately, this contributed to the top World Energy Council ranking of the Danish energy system according to the energy trilemma criteria. A cooperative mind-set, welfare state values and the notions of energy efficiency-, availability-, independency- and sustainability were all pivotal for the evolution of the district heating networks throughout Denmark. Other unique features of the Danish district heating sector include large-scale collective heat planning, the mandatory connection, the non-profit principle, the same approximate price for customers irrespective of heat density, and the relatively high average price of district heating. Moreover, district heating knowledge hubs have led to world-wide exports of district heating technologies and know-how. Future challenges for the Danish district heating sector include increasing biomass import dependency, the changing role of combined heat and power plants in the energy system, transitions to non-combustion heat supplies, and competition from individual heat pumps in single-family houses. However, future ‘smart’ thermal grids will increasingly facilitate sector coupling processes as more renewable energy resources are integrated into the energy system in Denmark and internationally. © 2022 The Authors. • Climate change : using robustness as a policy response
  • 2004
  • Ingår i: Building Research & Information. - London : Taylor & Francis Group. - 0961-3218 .- 1466-4321. ; 32:1, s. 71-74
  • Forskningsöversikt (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This commentary paper deals two issues: There is an insecurity of the predicted climate change and its impact on the built environment and there is a big time gap between the timescale for the climate change predictions and the timescale that is used for making decisions about the built environment. It is advocated that long term decisions for the built environment must be based on reliable predictions and if they are not the decisions will often make more damage than if no decisions were made at all. It is also stated that very few of the stakeholders in the building process have taken any actions to respond to the expected climate change. There is a total discrepancy between the climate change perspective and the stakeholders’ decision making perspective and it is therefore probably more efficient to cope to the current climate situation than to adapt to an uncertain very long-term climate change. For long term climate changes, robustness in the built environment probably is a more valid strategy.

  • Generation Pep – study protocol for an intersectoral community-wide physical activity and healthy eating habits initiative for children and young people in Sweden
  • 2024
  • Ingår i: Frontiers In Public Health. - Lausanne : Frontiers Media S.A.. - 2296-2565. ; 12
  • Forskningsöversikt (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Background: There is overwhelming evidence for the preventive effects of regular physical activity and healthy eating habits on the risk for developing a non-communicable disease (NCD). Increasing attention has been paid to community-wide approaches in the battle against NCDs. Communities can create supportive policies, modify physical environments, and foster local stakeholder engagement through intersectoral collaboration to encourage communities to support healthy lifestyles. The Pep initiative is based on intersectoral community-wide collaboration among Sweden’s municipalities. Primary targets are municipality professionals who work with children and young people as well as parents of children <18 years. The goal is to spread knowledge and create commitment to children’s and young people’s health with a special focus on physical activity and healthy eating habits to facilitate and support a healthy lifestyle. The overarching aim of the research project described in this study protocol is to investigate factors that influence the implementation of the Pep initiative in Sweden, to inform tailored implementation strategies addressing the needs and local prerequisites of the different municipalities. Methods: The project includes a qualitative and a quantitative study and is framed by a theoretical model involving four complementary forms of knowledge, explicitly recognized in the Pep initiative: knowledge about the issue; knowledge about interventions; knowledge about the context; and knowledge about implementation. Study 1 is a focus group study exploring barriers and facilitators for implementing the Pep initiative. The study will be carried out in six municipalities, selected purposively to provide wide variation in municipality characteristics, including population size and geographical location. Data will be analyzed using thematic analysis. Study 2 is a cross-sectional web-based survey investigating the implementability of the Pep initiative in Sweden’s 290 municipalities. Conditions for implementing different areas of the Pep initiative will be examined in terms of the acceptability, appropriateness, and feasibility, three predictors of implementation success. Data will be analyzed using non-parametric statistics.Discussion: The findings of the two studies will increase understanding of the prerequisites for implementing the Pep initiative in Swedish municipalities, which will provide valuable input into how implementation of the Pep initiative can best be facilitated in the different municipality settings.

  • Employment Sustainability for People with Intellectual Disability : A Systematic Review
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: Journal of occupational rehabilitation. - New York : Springer. - 1053-0487 .- 1573-3688. ; 32:3, s. 353-364
  • Forskningsöversikt (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Purpose: Previous reviews about employment for people with intellectual disability (ID) have left questions about employment sustainability unanswered. Therefore, the aim of this systematic review was to identify and analyse research regarding employment sustainability for people with ID. The research questions were: What research about employment sustainability for people with ID has been published internationally between 2010 and 2020? In the identified studies, how is employment sustainability defined and measured and what are the main findings regarding employment sustainability? Methods: A systematic review was conducted using eight databases from various disciplines including medical, health, and social sciences. After a selection process, 10 articles remained, and a framework matrix was created to analyse them. An employment sustainability definition was used as an analytical tool. Results: Ten articles were identified as being about employment sustainability for people with ID. Five of them used qualitative designs and five used quantitative designs. Only four out of ten contained a definition of employment sustainability, and there was an inconsistency in measurement methods. The reported findings in the studied articles were categorised into three types: proportions of long-term employed individuals within the studied population, facilitators and barriers to long-term employment. Conclusions: There is only a limited amount of research about employment sustainability for people with ID. Nevertheless, a few facilitators and barriers could be identified. There is no consensus about how to define or measure employment sustainability, making comparisons difficult. © The Author(s) 2021

  • Successful dying. Later life strategics to cope with the finiteness of life [Att förhålla sig till andligheten i livet och strategier för "framgångsrikt döende"]
  • 2020
  • Ingår i: Sociologisk forskning. - : Sveriges Sociologförbund. - 0038-0342 .- 2002-066X. ; 57:3-4, s. 271-287
  • Forskningsöversikt (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This article aims to explore how older people relate to the finiteness of life. Unlike many other similar studies, this study focuses on older people outside palliative care and residential care, those who are still active and engaged in society. When, and in what ways do finiteness of life become apparent to them in their everyday lives? What strategies do they use to manage awareness of the finiteness of life? In 2015, data was collected via six focus group occasions with people aged 69-90. The result show that finiteness of life was something that all respondents were occupied with almost daily and in several ways. In most cases with ambiguity and even fear for the uncertainty of the future, but also with a feeling that the awareness of finitude made the present more valuable. Death was manifested in the respondents everyday lives, as something to be postponed, planned and administered by the types of self-disciplining techniques that are significant for successful ageing. I therefore conclude that these norms and techniques of suc-cessful ageing have expand into the field of ways of practice dying and thereby, become norms and techniques of successful dying. © 2020 Sociologisk Forskning. • A Comparative Study of Chinese and Western MBA Programs
  • 2020
  • Ingår i: International Journal of Chinese Education. - Leiden : Brill Nijhoff. - 2212-585X .- 2212-5868. ; 9:1, s. 89-112
  • Forskningsöversikt (refereegranskat)abstract
    • In the last two decades, questions have been raised against the relevance of business education all around the globe including the famous MBA program. Despite few shortcomings of western MBA programs, they are considered to be the global benchmark owing to their reputation, quality, research focus etc., whereas most of their Chinese counterparts are criticized heavily for their different weaknesses ranging from obsolescence and incorporating unique Chinese characteristics to blindly following the US model, without devising the right mix. This study compares the Chinese MBA with the Western MBA programs, highlighting the crucial weaknesses prevailing in Chinese MBA programs and then identifying the necessary improvements to bring them at par with their western counterparts. The study also contributes by bringing-forth 'must have' and 'can have' courses as a part of the MBA curriculum by going through both Western and Chinese MBA curriculums in depth. © 2020 Copyright 2020 by Koninklijke Brill NV, Leiden, The Netherlands.

  • Towards a Conceptual Framework of Sustainable Business Model Innovation in the Agri-Food Sector : A Systematic Literature Review
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: Sustainability. - Basel : M D P I AG. - 2071-1050. ; 9:9
  • Forskningsöversikt (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This paper aims to increase our understanding of sustainable business model innovation in the agri-food sector in terms of its theoretical and practical approaches for sustainability and their degree of complexity and maturity. The paper is based on a systematic literature review of 570 journal articles on business models and business model innovation published between 1990 and 2014. Of these articles, only 21 have business model innovation as their main focus. The review shows that research interest in the agri-food sector has increased in these years. The paper proposes a conceptual framework for sustainable business model innovation in the agri-food sector that can be used to meet the challenges encountered in taking a sustainability perspective. © 2017 by the authors

  • The effects of interpersonal development programmes with sport coaches and parents on youth athlete outcomes : a systematic review and meta-analysis
  • 2024
  • Ingår i: Psychology of Sport And Exercise. - Amsterdam : Elsevier. - 1469-0292 .- 1878-5476. ; 70
  • Forskningsöversikt (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Interpersonal coach-and parent development programmes (CDP and PDP, respectively), have the goal to foster positive youth sport experiences through high-quality relations between coaches, parents, and youth athletes. In this paper we systematically reviewed the extant literature and estimate the overall magnitude of such programmes and how they can inform future interventions. Specifically, we aimed to: (a) conduct a systematic review on the literature of interpersonal CDPs and PDPs within the youth sport context; (b) examine the effects of such interventions on youth athlete outcomes via a meta-analysis. English written peer-reviewed publications and grey literature was identified through electronic search in databases and manual searches of reference lists. By utilising a priori criteria for inclusion and exclusion, 33 studies describing interpersonal CDPs, and PDPs were identified in the systematic review. Studies that presented required data for estimation of Hedge's g effect sizes were included in the meta-analysis (k = 27). By and large, the included studies used a quasi-experimental design (58%), sampled from team sports (79%), and reported several delivery methods (e.g., workshops, audio feedback, observations, peer group discussions) and outcome measures (e.g., anxiety, autonomous motivation, self-confidence). Some interventions were based on the same delivery protocols (e.g., Coach Effectiveness Training, Mastery Approach to Coaching) or theoretical frameworks (e.g., Achievement Goal Theory, Self-Determination Theory). The meta-analysis showed statistically significant small, and medium, effect sizes on a subsample of youth athlete outcomes (e.g., task-related climate, fun and enjoyment, anxiety), indicating that coach interpersonal skills can contribute to positive youth sport experiences. Theory-based interpersonal CDPs and PDPs are recommended to expand the knowledge in this field of research.
