  • Models of teamwork: ideal or not? : A critical study of theoretical team models
  • 2012
  • Ingår i: Team Performance Management. - : Emerald. - 1352-7592 .- 1758-6860. ; 18:5/6, s. 328-340
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Purpose - There is a tendency in team research to employ concepts of stepwise models, reachingfrom the primitive to the excellent, to suggest that a higher level of evolution is better than the basic and simple. This tendency includes typologies of teams. This article aims to question the relevance of this view.Design/methodology/approach - Data were collected in three steps. In the first step, articles and books analyzing teams and teamwork from stepwise analytical models were collected. In the second step the collected data were classified into different themes. Each stepwise model was classified into one essential denomination. This classification resulted in eight themes. In the third step each theme was analyzed, which led to the fusion of some of the themes.Findings - The conclusion is that a synchronous, complementary or mature team is not necessarily optimal. Contrary to this, a differentiated, sequential or multi team approach can be optimal for some purposes. Team research needs to establish a more open, inductive and critical attitude than at present.Originality/value - The paper highlights the need to observe and use team theories in a balanced and critical way.

  • Hope in a time of catastrophe? Resilience and the future in bare life
  • 2014
  • Ingår i: Resilience: International Policies, Practices and Discourses. - : Informa UK Limited. - 2169-3293 .- 2169-3307. ; 2:3
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The framework of resilience has been claimed to strip bodies of both hope and the promise of the future, reducing life to mere biology, concerned only with its survivability. This article interrogates such claims by critical theory, analysing the definitions of life and time embedded in them. Reading the figure of human nature as it appears in US President Obama's call for a common humanity – united by hope in a world of insurmountable insecurity – this article asks what promises structure liberal subjectivity when security and universalism are seemingly abandoned. Through the lens of Agambian biopolitics, I argue that resilient life is produced not in opposition to hope, but as its embodiment, turning indefinite insecurity into a continuous experience of hope, and hence into a structure of promise. As such, I submit that the hopeful life today has become the barest of all, engendered by the production of a paradoxical temporal indistinction between an open future and the inevitability of catastrophe.

  • Spontaneous associations and label framing have similar effects in the public goods game
  • 2014
  • Ingår i: Judgment and decision making. - : Cambridge University Press (CUP). - 1930-2975 .- 1930-2975. ; 9:5, s. 360-372
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • It is known that presentation of a meaningful label (e. g., The Teamwork Game) can influence decisions in economic games. A common view is that such labels cue associations to preexisting mental models of situations, a process here called frame selection. In the absence of such cues, participants may still spontaneously associate a game with a preexisting frame. We used the public goods game to compare the effect of such spontaneous frame selection with the effect of label framing. Participants in a condition where the public goods game was labeled The Teamwork Game tended to contribute at the same level as participants who spontaneously associated the unlabeled game with teamwork, whereas those who did not associate the the unlabeled game with teamwork tended to make lower contributions. We conclude that neutrally described games may be subject to spontaneous frame selection effects comparable in size to the effects of label framing.

  • Ansvarsfull verksamhetsstyrning
  • 2012

  • Visualisations of Relatonics : A Tool to Support Change in the Organising of Work?
  • 2014
  • Ingår i: Impact of Emerging Digital Technologies on Leadership in Global Business. - Hersey : IGI Global. - 9781466661356 - 9781466661349 ; , s. 166-182
  • Bokkapitel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This chapter is based on theorising and analysis from an ongoing research and development project exploring the use of visualisations in task-based development, specifically the potential of new types of organisational images that may support understanding about work-integrated learning. Thus, the aim of the chapter is to explore the possibilities of visualising work-integrated competence networks-here referred to as relatonics-and contribute to the understanding of how such visualisations can support efforts of organising change when organisational boundary-crossing cooperation is needed for a significant task. A conclusion is that images representing relatonic can be utilised to identify areas with a developmental need and, in this way, are a resource to make more knowledgeable interventions and enable a relatonic to emerge in certain directions.

  • Stavas killars problem i skolan ”anti-pluggkultur”?
  • 2010
  • Ingår i: Locus.

  • Unstable Identities: Stable Unsustainability
  • 2010
  • Ingår i: Sustainable Development. - : Wiley InterScience. - 0968-0802 .- 1099-1719. ; 18:3, s. 119-122
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The identity concept has emerged as a key analytical concept in the social sciences in the past decades. In both scientifi c accounts and everyday use, the identity concept has tradi- tionally been seen as something that individuals possess. This view has however been heavily criticized by a social identity strand of social science, where identity is a matter of a negotiation where different social roles are learned in relations with others. The relational view of identities creates some serious problems for the sustainability challenge. In a world of relational identities, individuals are engaged in identity-creating interactions every day. Key problems are that the interactions, in urban environments, are highly commercialized; consumption cues are emotionally based and speak to our senses, and outnumber the competing cues several times over. Sustainable lifestyles are thus very fragile.
