    • This paper performs a dialogue/an encounter between Madness (or the false mad Demidamia from the opera La Finta Pazza performed in Venice in 1641) and the Bastard (the illegitimate love child of arts, performance and education). Entangled they move through time, talking, confronting, shaping and diffracting a non‐existing form. Their method is about diffracting every inch of their journey. Meeting obstacles, facing resistance, walking into bubbles of flair and comfort, stepping into dilemmas and borderlands. Continuously asking themselves: What happens in the microscopic moment? When no/thing could even be imagined. On their way they challenge both time and existence. Learning through teaching through learning. Their journey is an ornamenting becoming in itself. It is an example of mattering as in meaning-‐making and knowledge processing, based on a performance of the indeterminable and affinity. The outcome in the performative encounter in itself – a potential model for teaching and learning in higher arts education.

    • I projektet Framtidens KTH-utbildningar har vi tagit fram förslag på hur vår verksamhet skulle kunna se ut för studenter, lärare, alumner och arbetsgivare – eller vad de kommer att vara. Visioner blir ofta luddiga så vi har istället skapat konkreta bilder som vi hoppas öppnar för samtal och ett vidare arbete med utbildningar för läsåret 2027/2028 då KTH firar tvåhundraårsjubileum.Denna katalog är endast till för idévärlden och innebär inget åtagande för KTH att erbjuda de utbildningar eller koncept som beskrivs. Men det är tillåtet att önska sig dem.

    • Som exekutiv producent har jag tillsammans med Anna Sohlman, Kalle Boman, Axel Danielson och Tobias Janson arbetat med denna film i regi av Eric M. Nilsson. 1972 gjorde filmaren Eric M Nilsson en film om sin gamla skola i Belgien. Där använde lärarna en pedagogik som utgick från barnens egna utforskande av tingen och världen. Nu 50 år senare försöker han tillämpa samma pedagogik på några barn idag. En betraktelse av skillnaden mellan att veta och kunna; om den praktiska kunskapens betydelse för ett självständigt tänkande och förståelse.

    • This investigation takes its point of departure in the prominent use of the term ’musicality’ as a prestige word in theatre discourse where, obviously, not exactly the same reference and meaning is ascribed to the concept as in contexts of music. There seems to be very little previous research in this area, if any. The research question is formulated thus: What do theatre practicians mean when they speak of an actor acting with musicality?The investigation is divided into three studies. The first study focuses on different perspectives on musicality in the field of music, based on explorative literature studies. The second study focuses on a sample of citations from literature on theatre where musicality and related concepts seem to be put forward in interesting and relevant ways in connection with spoken theatre. The third study is based on a series of explorative interviews with experienced Swedish actors and directors.The results of the first study indicate that (i) references to art forms other than music are very rare among musicologists discussing the concept of musicality; and (ii) there are reasons to distinguish between different perspectives on musicality, for instance, between an absolute, a relativistic and a relational view.The second study is divided in two sections, one chronological and one systematical. The historical overview presents and discusses three ideals or paradigms of theatre: the rhetorical, the realistic and the modernistic ideal. The systematic overview is structured in accordance with the different practitioners’ perspectives that are put forward: views related to ”musical dramaturgy” as well as the views of directors, educators and actors. Educational and professional theatre discourses through history as well as today are shown to include a great variety of perspectives on music and musicality. A detailed analysis of the interviews in the third study indicates that the concept of musicality as understood and used by the interviewees can be interpreted as a combination of abilities in the actor. It is suggested that these abilities may be divided in three groups, all of which constitute necessary conditions for the actor’s musicality: acting and being ”here and now” with all senses (”presence”); apprehending, analysing and building structures (”structure”); and acting and being free, relaxed, active and open (”flow”). In conclusion, the results of the study seem to indicate that the term ’musicality’ is often applied in the field of theatre in a way that could be understood as metaphorical. Based on these results, it would seem potentially fruitful to regard ’musicality’ in theatre discourse as a socially constructed concept with important artistic, educational as well as sociological implications.

    • COVID-19 has shown its pandemic powers to the whole world. At times when many countries are forced to go for total lockdown of its economic activities, unusual economic crisis is inevitable. Amid all the crisis, the impact on education sector was also massive. In India also COVID-19 has resulted in a country-wide lockdown, which led to closure of schools and colleges. University Grant Commission, an apex educational body has come up with several guidelines for higher education institution. This study is an attempt to understand the perceptions of Indian tertiary students toward online teaching which has become the no-other-choice method of instruction for educational institutes during the pandemic. An online survey was conducted in October 2020, to collect information from the students through Google form about their perceptions and experiences with online learning. A total of 248 students completed the survey. Factor analysis has been applied on the collected data to understand the factors which most impacted the students. Results showed that “less effectiveness,” “stress and boredom” and “connectivity challenges” were among the major challenges faced by these students in their online learning experience. This study urges the need for an educational strategy to be set by policy makers to respond to the challenges encoutered during online learning.
