Die „Öhrchen-Installation“ : Ein Erhebungsverfahren in der Kindheits- und Schülerforschung

• Was geht in den Schülern während des Schulunterrichts vor – was denken sie über den Unterricht, den Lehrer, ihre Mitschüler – mit welchen Fantasien beschäftigen sie sich, wenn ihre Aufmerksamkeit vom Unterricht abschweift? Welche wissenschaftlichen Möglichkeiten der Kindheits- bzw. Schülerforschung gibt es bisher, um solche Informationen zu bekommen? Mit einer erstmals angewandten "Öhrchen-Installation" ist es möglich geworden, Kinder während des Schulunterrichts sich darüber kontrolliert informell – ohne zu stören – äußern zu lassen. Eine nachgebildete Ohrmuschel mit eingebautem, ein- und ausschaltbarem Mikrofon zeichnet das vom Kind in das "Öhrchen" Gesprochene auf. Die empirische Studie rekonstruiert aus den erhobenen Äußerungen der Kinder unter Rückgriff auf die "Dokumentarische Methode" (Bohnsack) deren Lebenswelten, um grundlegende Prinzipien kindlicher Wirklichkeit und Bedingungen von deren Konstruktion in Erfahrung zu bringen. Möglichkeiten und Grenzen des Einsatzes der "Öhrchen-Installation" im Rahmen der neuen Kindheits- resp. Schülerforschung können so im Sinne einer ausschnitthaft summativen Evaluation ausgelotet werden.

• What is going on during school lessons - what do the pupils think about the classroom, the teacher, their classmates - what fantasies do they have, when their attention wanders? What are the scientific possibilities of Children Studies in the frame of Classroom Research so far to get such information? With the "Auricle Installation", it is possible for children to express themselves - without disturbing the lesson - during the school lessons. A reproduced auricle with a built-in microphone that can be switched on and off records a child's voice. From the children's utterances aspects of their lifeworlds are reconstructed. Basic principles of childhood reality and the conditions of its construction are worked out. In terms of a comprehensive summative evaluation, also the possibilities and limits of the use of the "Auricle Installation" as an instrument for data collection in Children Research are explored.
