Kartläggning av mängder och flöden av textilavfall

• Kunskapen om flöden av textilier i Sverige är idag begränsad. Målet med det här projektet har därför varit att beräkna inflödet av textiler till Sverige och att få en uppfattning om avfallsmängderna av textil från olika aktörer i landet. I projektet har även ingått att föreslå indikatorer för återanvänd textil. Projektet har varit av-gränsat till textilier i form av kläder och hemtextil.Det går att beräkna nettoinflödet av kläder och hemtextil i ton genom att kombinera statistik över import, export och inhemsk produktion av textilvaror. 2008 var netto-inflödet av kläder och hemtextil till Sverige totalt 131 800 ton eller knappt 15 kg/person. För att få en uppfattning om förändringen över tid, har vi även be-räknat nettoinflödet för perioden 2000-2009, men då enbart beräknat som import – export. Detta bedömdes som möjligt då den inhemska produktionen av kläder och hemtextil är mycket liten. Sett över hela perioden har nettoinflödet av kläder och hemtextil, i ton, ökat med närmare 40 % .Enligt SCB:s Företagsdatabas finns det cirka 4 600 företag och 8 000 anställda inom textil- och beklädnadsvaruindustrin. Sektorn är uppdelad på tre branscher enligt Standard för Sveriges Näringsgrensindelning (SNI). Drygt 80 % av företagen i sektorn har inte några anställda, d.v.s. det är i de flesta fall enmansföretag.För mängden textilavfall och textil som återbrukas från hushållen, har uppgifter från två flöden inhämtats; textilier som slängs i säck- och kärlavfallet och textilier som skänks till välgörenhetsorganisationer. Baserat på plockanalyser slängs upp-skattningsvis 8 kg textiler/person och år i Sverige i säck- och kärlavfallet. Av de kläder som samlas in via välgörenhet, ca 3 kg textilier/person och år kommer hu-vuddelen från privatpersoner. Textilier från företag står för en jämförelsevis myck-et liten andel.Livslängden för textilier kan variera stort för samma typ av plagg. Men även skilja stort mellan olika användare av samma plagg. Till följd av de stora osäkerheterna med att ansätta livslängder har vi jobbat utifrån antagandet att den potentiella mängden avfall av kläder och hemtextil (här kallad förbrukad mängd) per år är lika med nettoinflödet för samma år. För att fortsatt följa avfallet av kläder och hemtex-til föreslår vi därför följande indikatorer:Insamlad mängd kläder och hemtextil av förbrukad mängd kläder och hem-textil.Återbrukad mängd kläder och hemtextil av förbrukad mängd kläder och hemtextil.Andel kläder och hemtextil i hushållsavfallet av förbrukad mängd kläder och hemtextil

• The knowledge about flows of textiles in Sweden is limited. The objective of this project has therefore been to calculate the net inflow of textiles to Sweden and follow the flows of textile waste from different actors in the country. Suggestions on indictors in order to observe flows of recycled textiles have also been part of the study. The project has been limited to textiles in the form of clothing and home textiles.It is possible to calculate the net inflow of clothing and home textiles in tonnes by combining statistics on imports, exports and domestic production of textile goods. In 2008 the net inflow of clothing and home textiles to Sweden was 131 800 tonnes or just below 15 kg / capita. In order to see changes over time, the net inflows for the period 2000-2009 was also estimated. However, only account for as imports - exports. This approximation was considered possible since the domestic production of clothing and home textiles is little in Sweden. Over the entire period, net inflows of clothing and home textiles, in tonnes have increased by nearly 40%.According to the Business Register, Statistics Sweden, there are about 4600 com-panies and 8000 employees in the textile and clothing industries in Sweden. The sector is divided into three subsectors according to Swedish Standard Industrial Classification (SIC). More than 80% of companies in the sector do not have any employees, i.e. it is in most cases one-person businesses.For accounting the amount of textile waste and the share of recycled textile from households, data from two waste streams were collected: textiles that are thrown into a bag and container waste and textiles donated to charities. Based on sorting analysis approximately 8 kg textiles per person and year are to be found in waste s from households. About 3 kg textiles per person and per year is given to charities.The life time of clothing and home of textiles can diverge widely for the same type of garment. But also differ largely among users of the same type garment. Due to the large uncertainties in applying life times the assumption that the amount of textile waste per year is equal to the net inflow for the same year were used in the calculations. Hence, in order to continue to monitoring flows of clothing and home textiles, we suggest the following indicators.• Collected amount of clothing and home and textiles of the used volume of apparel and home textiles.• Reused amount of clothing and home textile / the used volume of clothing and textiles• Share of clothing and home textiles in the domestic waste per consumed clothing and home textiles
