- Numerical simulation and experimental study have been conducted to investigate the feasibility of using laser-assisted drilling for Kangan hydrocarbon field for oil and gas and geothermal good development. The main rock type in this field is limestone and the temperature is very promising for producing energy toward low carbon emissions future. All experimental and simulation works lead us to achieve important results for the calculation of fracture pressure in before and after lasing operation to find downhole condition and explain the problems encounter using laser technology and attempt to solve them in analytic condition. Based on different equations which existed to calculate fracture pressure, finding the best value for fracture pressure before and after lasing is not difficult. There is the Eaton equation for normal calculation that does not depend on porosity directly but needs to Poisson’s ratio as one of the most important parameters. However, the elastic parameter is playing the most important roles in the deformation parameters.
