Heymerico de Campo lector de Aristóteles: la noción de problema dialéctico en el Compendium Logicae y el Tractatus Problematicus

• The aim of this contribution is twofold: first, to analyze the passage of Heymericus de Campo’s Compendium logicae dealing with the concept of dialectical problem, such as it is defined by Aristotle in Topics I.11; second, to determine how and to what extent is Heymericus’ understanding of the notion of problema in the context of the Aristotelian commentary later employed in his Tractatus problematicus. Unsurprisingly, Heymericus seems to follow mostly Albert the Great’s commentary on the Topics. However, his view presents some original features worth considering, namely an attempt at a thorough taxonomy that accounts for all possible categories of dialectical problems, and a technical sense of the notion of problema that rules out certain discussions (viz. the views identified with the via moderna) while accepting others as philosophically relevant.
