• The rise of Bronze Age peripheries was linked to the expansion of civilization and its need for goods that only peripheries could deliver, such as copper and tin, horses and slaves. The gradual westward expansion of peripheries from the Caucasus to the Carpathians to the Alps and northern Europe is documented and discussed
