• A uniform approach to detect CKD on a population level allows the understaning of key risk fctors for disease, provides valuable data for health care agencies, and establishes a basis for comparisons between regions. This documents elaborates a core protocol and minimum dataset for population-level investigations of CKD not related to diabetes, hypertension or other known risk factors (CKDu), which will allow international comparisons.
