- Hälso- och sjukvårdens resurser är ändliga och för att använda resurserna på bästa sätt är prioriteringar nödvändiga. I syfte att tjäna som underlag vid prioriteringar genomförs allt fler hälsoekonomiska utvärderingar, i vilka kostnader för olika behandlingar ställs mot de positiva effekter på hälsa/livskvalitet som de medför. Dessa positiva effekter uttrycks vanligen som kvalitetsjusterade levnadsår (QALYs) och resultatet av en utvärdering uttrycks som kostnaden per vunnen QALY. Det är dock inte självklart vad en QALY står för då denna kan mätas och räknas fram på flera olika sätt.Denna rapport ägnas åt effektmåttet QALY med avseende på vad det innebär, vad det är tänkt att representera, hur det mäts, teoretiska och metodologiska problem, samt tänkbara alternativa tillvägagångssätt. Förutom att beskriva och ge en bild av effektmåttet QALY är syftet med rapporten att identifiera intressanta och relevanta frågor för vidare forskning om QALY och mätning av vårdens effekter.Rapporten inleds med ett kapitel där QALY-ansatsen sätts in i sitt sammanhang genom en bakgrund och teoretisk grund. Sedan följer en redogörelse för prospekt teorin, som tagits fram som en kritik mot den traditionella QALYansatsen och som möjligen kan utgöra en alternativ ansats. Kapitel 2 beskriver från vilka olika perspektiv QALY-vikter kan mätas samt vilken betydelse val av perspektiv kan ha för resultatet. Med perspektiv avses här i första hand vem som ska tillfrågas om hur bra eller dåligt ett sjukdomstillstånd är, drabbade patienter eller representanter för allmänheten? I kapitel 3 beskrivs metoder för mätning och värdering av QALY-vikter. Såväl direkta som indirekta metoder förklaras. Metodproblem beskrivs och diskussion förs om fördelar och nackdelar med olika mätmetoder samt vilka skillnader i resultat de kan förväntas medföra. Kapitel 4 ägnas åt specialfrågorna om negativa QALY-vikter, eller hälsotillstånd värre än döden, samt värdering av temporära tillstånd. Mätmetoder för dessa situationer och problem förknippade med dessa diskuteras. I kapitel 5 sätts QALY-ansatsen in i ett större sammanhang genom att den relateras till idén om rättvisa. Frågor som diskuteras är till exempel huruvida QALY-ansatsen är förenlig med en rättvis fördelning av resurser och om rättvisa borde tas hänsyn till i QALY-modellen eller inte. I kapitel 6 länkas QALY-ansatsen till teorier om lycka. Kan lyckoforskningen berika den traditionella hälsoekonomiska ansatsen? Kan lyckoforskningen bidra till bättre metoder för mätning av vårdens effekter, det vi vanligen kallar QALY? Rapporten avslutas med en diskussion som mynnar ut i intressanta och angelägna forskningsfrågor. Tanken är att vi ska gå vidare med en del av dessa frågeställningar.

In this chapter we present the pioneering contributions of the ADITdivision at Link¨oping University to the field of ontology debugging.

Utvärdering av metoder mot mobbning

- Denna utvärdering ger besked om insatser och arbetssätt som effektivt förebygger och åtgärdar mobbning. Utvärderingen är unik genom att den omfattar stora mängder data, både kvalitativa och kvantitativa från 39 skolor, att enskilda individers utsatthet följs upp vid tre tillfällen och att den omfattar flera program samtidigt.Resultaten visar bland annat att olika insatser har olika effekt för pojkar och flickor samt olika effekt beroende på om mobbningen är social eller fysisk. Den visar också att ingen enskild insats har dramatiskt positiva effekter. För att en skola ska lyckas förebygga och åtgärda mobbning krävs ett systematiskt arbete och en kombination av insatser. Åtta namngivna program som används mot mobbning har ingått i utvärderingen: Farstametoden, Friends, Lions Quest, Olweusprogrammet, SET – Social och emotionell träning, Skolkomet, Skolmedling samt Stegvis. I utvärderingens fristående metodfördjupning Utvärdering av metoder mot mobbning. Metodappendix och bilagor till rapport 353, (endast publicerad som pdf ) redovisar forskarna utförligt utvärderingens design och redogör för tillvägagångssättet vid datainsamling och analys.

We review the relevant research literature and investigate to what extent the observer's (legal decision makers') perception, assessment and memory is affected by the presentation format used (e.g. whether the witness appear live or on video).

Feeling by Doing - The Social Organization of Everyday Emotions in Academic Talk-in-Interaction

- The present dissertation is concerned with the social organization of emotions in talk-in-interaction. Conversation analytic procedures were used to uncover the practices through which participants in social interaction convey, understand, enact, and utilize emotions that are made relevant to the interaction. The central aim is to describe such practices and the contexts in which they are deployed, and to link emotions to the social actions that they perform or contribute to performing within situated activities. Conversation analytic work has generally not addressed emotions explicitly for reasons discussed in the dissertation, and a second aim was therefore to test the applicability of conversation analysis to emotion research, to theoretically bring together separate fields of inquiry, and to discuss advantages and limitations of a talk-in-interactional approach to emotions. Furthermore, the analytic approach to emotions is restricted to displays and orientations that are made relevant by participants themselves.<br/><br/>Data consists of video recordings of six graduate school seminars at a large university in the United States, as well as interviews with all 22 participants. From the analyses, three themes emerged; frustration, embarrassment, and enjoyment, and within each, an assortment of practices for doing emotions were found. Frustration was primarily located in the context of violations of activity-specific turn-taking norms. Embarrassment was found to do multiple interactional work; for example, in contexts of repair, teasing, and culturally delicate matters. Enjoyment was found to be collaboratively pursued between and within institutional activities; for example, through reported speech dramatizations, utilization of activity-transitional environments, and playful mock emotions. Timing of gaze aversion, laughter, and gestures were also found to be key to the display and perception of emotions. <br/><br/>The findings indicate that emotion displays can be viewed as transforming a situated action, opening up alternative trajectories for sequences-in-progress, and also function as actions in themselves. Furthermore, it was concluded that conversation analysis is indeed a fruitful empirical route for understanding emotions and their role in social interaction.

Learning in global settings for sustainable development:

- The pilot project Lund Calling is a step for initiating the process of learning about sustainability issues in global–local settings through the implementation of the Young Masters Programme (YMP). Lund Calling was originally started by the Municipality of Lund to promote education for sustainable development (ESD), giving pupils from grade 8 up to the completion of upper secondary level the opportunity to study the YMP within the framework of their regular studies. This was to be accomplished by the construction of a local course, considered to be “a raw model” for all schools in Lund. A number of schools were specifically selected by the Department of Education in the Municipality of Lund to participate in the pilot project Lund Calling. Alongside with the educational pilot project, a research project was also to be conducted. The aim of the research project was to analyse and describe pupils’ and teachers’ experiences of the pilot project. Later, interviews with headmasters were also included. The purpose of this empirical investigation is, in other words, not to evaluate or assess the effectiveness of the initial attempts to implement the YMP at schools in the Municipality of Lund, but rather to contribute to the further development of the implementation processes, by capturing some of the experiences, voices and engagement of the many stakeholders and participants. Preliminary findings were presented during a seminar (2008) at the International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics (IIIEE) at Lund University, which was addressed to participants from schools in Lund. Findings were also presented at the international conference initiated by the Regional Centre of Expertise on education for sustainable development in Skåne (RCE-Skåne): EU as Global Actor – The pilot project Lund Calling 2009. Accessibility and self-archiving of conference articles

- The main purpose of this project has been to examine the accessibility of refereed conference articles and the OA- and publishing policies of conferences in order to in this way elucidate different aspects concerning self-archiving in Swedish institutional repositories. For this purpose, the project participants have examined a number of conferences and references to conference articles via their institutional repositories during a specific time period and described these from the perspective of a common scheme. The study has showed that the local institutional repositories fill an important role to make conference publications visible. We have found that ca. 50% of the conference papers can be published as postprints in our institutional repositories. We have noticed that ca. 15% or the studied conference articles are not available at all. It is, therefore, of great importance to use local institutional repositories as a publishing channel, not only for primary published material such as dissertations and reports, but also as a source for finding these conference articles "without a home". Between 20-25% of the examined articles were found in some type of OA archive; ca. half of these were found in one of the project participants' own institutional repositories. This indicates that the publishing database of respective higher education institution is an important factor for open accessibility. Ca. 10% of the conferences in the study had an explicit OA policy or expressed such a policy by openly making conference articles accessible on their conference sites. A big problem when it comes to self-archiving of conference articles is the lack of information about OA policy. The landscape of conference publishing is complex and the self-archiving of documents from conferences is very time-consuming. Above all, we would wish a policy resource for conferences similar to the SHERPA/RoMEO. At present, however, there is no other alternative than scrutinizing the conferences' copyright information to the authors and from this attempt to draw conclusions about possible self-archiving. To facilitate the future handling and classification of conference articles in Swedish institutional repositories a number of recommendations are suggested
