  • DESIREE Physics with cold stored ion beams
  • 2015
  • Ingår i: DR2013 : Ninth international conference on dissociative recombination: theory, experiment, and applications.
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Here we will briefly describe the commissioning of the Double ElectroStatic Ion Ring ExpEriment (DESIREE) facility at Stockholm University, Sweden. This device uses purely electrostatic focussing and deflection elements and allows ion beams of opposite charge to be confined under extreme high vacuum and cryogenic conditions in separate rings and then merged over a common straight section. This apparatus allows for studies of interactions between cations and anions at very low and well-defined centre-of-mass energies (down to a few meV) and at very low internal temperatures (down to a few K).

  • Prioritization of quality requirements: State of practice in eleven companies
  • 2011
  • Ingår i: 2011 IEEE 19th International Requirements Engineering Conference, RE 2011; Trento; 29 August 2011 through 2 September 2011. - 978-145770923-4 ; s. 69-78
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Requirements prioritization is recognized as an important but challenging activity in software product development. For a product to be successful, it is crucial to find the right balance among competing quality requirements. Although literature offers many methods for requirements prioritization, the research on prioritization of quality requirements is limited. This study identifies how quality requirements are prioritized in practice at 11 successful companies developing software intensive systems. We found that ad-hoc prioritization and priority grouping of requirements are the dominant methods for prioritizing quality requirements. The results also show that it is common to use customer input as criteria for prioritization but absence of any criteria was also common. The results suggests that quality requirements by default have a lower priority than functional requirements, and that they only get attention in the prioritizing process if decision-makers are dedicated to invest specific time and resources on QR prioritization. The results of this study may help future research on quality requirements to focus investigations on industry-relevant issues.

  • Modeling the cluster decay in mm-wave channels
  • 2014
  • Ingår i: 8th European Conference on Antennas and Propagation, EuCAP 2014. ; s. 804-808
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The cluster power is an important parameter for cluster-based wireless channel models. This paper addresses modeling and estimation of the cluster power for wireless channels. A novel way of estimating the cluster decay and cluster fading, where the effects of the noise floor is taken into account, is presented. Due to the noise floor present in the measurement, only a limited number of clusters are available when estimating the cluster decay. It is shown that the estimated cluster decay and cluster fading can be improved if the effects of the noise floor and cluster fading are modeled and taken into account in the estimation step. If the noise floor is not taken into account in the estimation of the cluster decay, the resulting model can overestimate the RMS delay spread. Further, the paper includes estimates of the cluster decay and fading based on measured clusters for an indoor wireless mm-Wave channel in a conference room environment.

  • A Case Study Evaluation of the Guideline-Supported QUPER Model for Elicitation of Quality Requirements
  • 2015
  • Ingår i: Requirements Engineering: Foundation for Software Quality/Lecture Notes in Computer Science. - Springer. - 1611-3349 .- 0302-9743. - 978-3-319-16100-6 - 978-3-319-16101-3 ; 9013, s. 230-246
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • [Context & motivation] For market-driven software product developing organizations operating on a competitive open market, it is important to plan the product’s releases so that they can reach the market as early as possible with a competitive level of quality compared to its competitors' products. Hence, quality requirements can be seen as a key competitive advantage. The QUPER model was developed with the aim to support high-level decision-making in release planning of quality requirements. [Question/problem] As a follow up on previous studies on QUPER, this study investigates: What are practitioner's views on the utilities of QUPER extended with guidelines including domain-specific examples? [Principal ideas/results] In the presented case study, a set of detailed guidelines of how to apply QUPER in practice, including how to handle cost dependencies between quality requirements, was evaluated at a case company in the mobile handset domain with 24 professionals using real quality requirements. [Contribution] The results point to the importance of having concrete guidelines combined with instructive examples from real practice, while it is not always obvious for a practitioner to transfer cost-dependency examples into the domains that are different from the example domain. The transferability of guidelines and examples to support methodology adoption is an interesting issue for further research.

  • Laplace model for multi-axial responses in fatigue analysis of a cultivator frame
  • 2014
  • Ingår i: Proceedings of the 3rd International Commercial Vehicle Technology Symposium (CVT 2014). - Shaker Verlag. - 978-38-44-02573-6 ; s. 141-150
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This paper reviews means for fatigue damage rates estimation using Laplace distributed multiaxial loads. The model is suitable for description of stresses containing transients of random amplitudes and locations. Explicit formulas for computing the expected value of rainflow damage index as a function of excess kurtosis are given for correlated loads. A Laplace model is used to describe variability of forces and bending moments measured at some location on a cultivator frame. An example of actual cultivator data is used to illustrate the model and demonstrate the accuracy of damage index prediction.

  • Collecting dialect data and making use of them an interim report from Swedia 2000
  • 2000
  • Ingår i: Proceedings FONETIK 2000. - University of Gothenburg. ; s. 17-20
  • Konferensbidrag (övrigt vetenskapligt)abstract
    • This paper consists of two, somewhat disparate parts. In the first part, some experiences of two years of fieldwork are summarized, concentrating, as the subtitle suggests, on the very heart of phonetic fieldwork: the encounters and interviews with the informants. As a result of the fieldwork, the project now has access to recordings from approximately 1300<br /> speakers of more than 100 dialects of Swedish. We are currently initiating research on various aspects of the sound patterns of these dialects. The second part of the paper is meant to give an overview of some of our research plans for the near future.
