  • Cordelia e l'immagine della donna italiana di fine Ottocento

  • In: Arena Romanistica. - Bergen. - 1890-4580. ; 8, s. 88-100
  • Journal article (peer-reviewed)abstract
    • The article presents the beginning of a research project on the girls' magazine Cordelia. Foglio settimanale per le giovinette italiane (1881-1942), founded in Florence by Angelo De Gubernatis. Referring to 19th century writing on the subject of young women's education and upbringing, the initial study, which covers the period 1880-1890, focuses on the founding of the magazine Cordelia and its explicit aim of encouraging the progress of female education in Italy. With an attempt to inculcate patriotic feeling in the minds of the magazine's female readers and to assign a national identity to young Italian girls, Cordelia mainly focused on the exemplary female role of the queen, Margherita of Savoy, but also on the Italian colonial policy.
