    • This paper aims to study and analyze the tools of linguistic analysis contained in the modern monetary methods, which used by Kamal Abu Deeb in his book “in Defense of Qur'an” to respond to the claim of Thomas Holland and his teacher Patricia Krona presented in a television program on Channel 4 in England. They claimed the prophet Mohammed is a false personality and that the Qur'an is forged, invented by the Umayyad caliph Abdul Malik bin Marwan. The study focuses on the tools of linguistic analysis on which the textual methods, formalism, structuralism, stylistic, and deconstruction approaches are based, since they all depend on the linguistic analysis tools that established by Disusier. The study tried to examine the effectiveness of these tools, and how to work to serve the goals of the book and the purpose of its authorship, where Abu Deeb used to refute the case of Holland / Crowna, and hence prove that the Qor'an coherent text unified with single author, and that prophet Mohammed is real person, recognized, not only in Arabs and Muslims but in history and the world.

    • The study based on the descriptive analytical methodology, using the tools of the modern narrative theories, to examine the Saudi short stories. The study shows that the dialogue performs diverse functions linked to narrative’s transformations in the text. Also some of the dialogues cover the text and other contained different partial narratives, or parallel stories to the central story. The study concluded to emphasize the existence of relating between the dialogue and shaping of the narrative view, the narrator, narratee, and the narrative time. We find that the dialogue is able to make its narrative activity also add new entrances to the text from the various perspectives

  • Women Stereotype in the Book: Yemeni Tales and Legends

    • The paper seeks to understand how women stereotypes are formed in Ḥekayᾱt Wa Asaṭīr Yamanī [Yemeni Tales and Legends] book compiled by Ali Muhammad Abdo. The paper consists of a preface that includes a theoretical background on the stereotype and the approach used in its detection, and six sections that examine the stereotypical image of women in the book and its genres. The paper uses feminist theory and cultural criticism as tools for study and analysis. It has been shown that the Yemeni folk tale - as it appeared in this book - has drawn a stereotype of women that does not deviate much from her stereotype at the level of representations in other cultural productions in the society. As the tales work to shape an exemplary image of men in comparison with for image of women, which is one of betraying trust, and deceitfulness and creating intrigues. The study also revealed the nature of the cultural link between the authoritarian side; men who make women followers and transform them into a means of entertainment attached to his perfect image. All of this appears wrapped in the form of beautiful fantasy stories that present a distorted, albeit socially accepted, image of women.

    • Many researches have studied the dialogue in poetry in terms of its narrative function, and what value it adds to poetry when borrowing this artistic feature from a neighboring field, but most of those researches focus on it as a narrative or dramatic technique and then studied it depending on narrative theories and methods While this study focuses on what the dialogue adds to the poetic of poem, and the adoption of poetic tools, theories and critical approaches, as the question is not what dialogue adds to the poetics text, but what dialogue adds to the poetic of text. The research was based on the descriptive analytical method and using the tools of poetic theories, especially the theory of Roman Jakobson and Jean Cohen. The research consists of four sections, the first focuses on the theoretical introduction of dialogue and its journey between the narrative, drama and poetic arts, while the second deals with the poetry of dialogue on the communicative program, the third section examined the poetic connotations of dialogue, and the last section is concerned with the study of phonetic semantics, whether for sentences or words.One of the most prominent results of the research: that the Saudi poet has applied dialogue in a way that served poetic text, and re-arranged the communicative model to highlight his feelings and load his words significants of poetry which developed as a narrative technique to become a poetic technique depicting the inner worlds of the poet, and reshape what is outside according to his vision, And touch other texts.

    • Abstract in Arabic مع بداية النصف الثاني من القرن الماضي أو تحديدا نهاية العقد الخامس وبداية العقد السادس، انطلقت بدايات الكتابة النسائية الإبداعية في عدد من الدول العربية حتى فرضت الكاتبات العربيات وجودهن بقوة في المشهد الثقافي الإبداعي وتألقن في تقديم التجربة النسوية لاحقا، ليجسدن لنا واقع المرأة ويعبرن عن خصوصيتها الأنثوية وأحاسيسها وتجربتها الاجتماعية آأنثى، فأسمعتنا صوتها عبر شخصيتها المحورية في الرواية والقصة والشعر. وفي هذا الإطار، يمكننا القول أن المشهد الإبداعي لدى الكاتبات الفلسطينيات لم يكن مغايرا. وهكذا استطاعت المرأة الفلسطينية الكاتبة – مثلها مثل المرأة العربية الكاتبة – أن "تُظهر بوضوح أن دور المرأة في هذا المجال الإبداعي لم يعد هامشيا على الإطلاق".

    • This study examines the 'Emergence of Trans-Jordan' in the light of the Cairo Conference, which was held in March, 1921 on the initiative of Winston Churchill. It examines furthermore, British political activities in the Near East in general and Trans-Jordan in particular, following the establishment of Trans-Jordan under Emir Abdullah ibn Husayn. This study which is concerned with the period 1921-1928, draws extensively on previously unpublished documents of the British government.
