  • Parents want Swedish child health services to focus more on motor development and practical advice
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: Acta Paediatrica. - : John Wiley & Sons. - 0803-5253 .- 1651-2227. ; 110:8, s. 2415-2423
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Aim Parents' experiences and expectations are key to developing evidence-based approaches that respond to family needs. However, little is known about how parents regard the motor assessments in well-child surveillance and what they need to support their child's motor development. This study explored their experiences. Methods We conducted 11 semi-structured interviews with Swedish-speaking parents whose children had been referred to a physiotherapist by child health services (CHS) before 18 months of age. Consecutive sampling was conducted from March to November 2018. The data were analysed using systematic text condensation. Results The three themes that emerged were that that parents liked the CHS setting, but had concerns about the lack of focus on motor development during routine health visits and wanted more dialogue about this area. The parents said that the assessments varied considerably and that their concerns were not always taken seriously. They wanted to know more about the professionals' observations, how their child was expected to develop and what they could do to support their motor development. Conclusion Parents wanted a greater focus on motor development during routine health visits. This included advice on how they could support their child's development.

  • Världar i kollision : En studie av Kerstin Ekmans roman Gör mig levande igen
  • 2001
  • Ingår i: Samlaren. - Uppsala : Svenska Litteratursällskapet. - 0348-6133 .- 2002-3871. ; 122, s. 74-94
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Cecilia Lindhé. Worlds in Collision: A Study of Kerstin Ekman's Novel Gör mig levande igen.Kerstin Ekman's novel Gör mig levande igen (1996) [Make me Alive Again] is a rewriting and continuation of Eyvind Johnson's Krilon-trilogy (1941–43). This essay addresses the different challenges which Ekman's novel makes to Johnson's trilogy. It is argued that these challenges do not simply take the shape of a confrontation of the male perceiving subject, but appear also as a questioning of literary traditions in the wider sense. Through these challenges Gör mig levande igen manages not only to give a voice to women but also transgresses conventional female representation. Exploring the novel's intertextual relationship with the traditions, conventions, and genres that constitute it, Gör mig levande igen is revealed to be a contradictory novel working within the system it attempts to destabilise. This essay shows how the novel re-evaluates the distinctions and boundaries that mark the idea of a hegemonic subject and a literary canon by undermining boundaries that run between worlds of different ontological status. These worlds, that consist of reality/myth, fact/fiction, and original/imitation are set in motion and collide, opening up a structure that strives toward closure. By highlighting these collisions together with the oscillation between epistemological and ontological dominants, between literary modernist techniques and postmodernist devices, it is possible to see how Gör mig levande igen works to open up a closed structure thus making room for women's perspectives.

  • Safety profile of the adjuvanted recombinant zoster vaccine : Pooled analysis of two large randomised phase 3 trials
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: Vaccine. - : Elsevier Ltd. - 0264-410X .- 1873-2518. ; 37:18, s. 2482-2493
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Background: The ZOE-50 (NCT01165177) and ZOE-70 (NCT01165229) phase 3 clinical trials showed that the adjuvanted recombinant zoster vaccine (RZV) was ≥90% efficacious in preventing herpes zoster in adults. Here we present a comprehensive overview of the safety data from these studies. Methods: Adults aged ≥50 (ZOE-50) and ≥70 (ZOE-70) years were randomly vaccinated with RZV or placebo. Safety analyses were performed on the pooled total vaccinated cohort, consisting of participants receiving at least one dose of RZV or placebo. Solicited and unsolicited adverse events (AEs) were collected for 7 and 30 days after each vaccination, respectively. Serious AEs (SAEs) were collected from the first vaccination until 12 months post-last dose. Fatal AEs, vaccination-related SAEs, and potential immune-mediated diseases (pIMDs) were collected during the entire study period. Results: Safety was evaluated in 14,645 RZV and 14,660 placebo recipients. More RZV than placebo recipients reported unsolicited AEs (50.5% versus 32.0%); the difference was driven by transient injection site and solicited systemic reactions that were generally seen in the first week post-vaccination. The occurrence of overall SAEs (RZV: 10.1%; Placebo: 10.4%), fatal AEs (RZV: 4.3%; Placebo: 4.6%), and pIMDs (RZV: 1.2%; Placebo: 1.4%) was balanced between groups. The occurrence of possible exacerbations of pIMDs was rare and similar between groups. Overall, except for the expected local and systemic symptoms, the safety results were comparable between the RZV and Placebo groups irrespective of participant age, gender, or race. Conclusions: No safety concerns arose, supporting the favorable benefit-risk profile of RZV. © 2019 GlaxoSmithKline Biologicals SA

  • Thoughts on the end of life in patients with oxygen-dependent chronic obstructive pulmonary disease : A qualitative interview study
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: Nursing Open. - : John Wiley & Sons. - 2054-1058. ; 10:4, s. 2158-2164
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Aim: The aim of the study was to deepen the current knowledge of how patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and long-term oxygen treatment think about and expect end-of-life. Design: A qualitative design was used. Methods: A purposeful sample of 19 patients with oxygen-dependent chronic obstructive pulmonary disease was obtained from the Swedish National Registry on Respiratory Failure (Swedevox). Data was collected with semi-structured interviews and analysed using a hermeneutic approach. Results: The analysis revealed three themes: Living in the present without a future; difficulty talking about the uncertainty; and feeling anxious about leaving family behind. Participants indicated that healthcare professionals should invite them to mutual discussions as it was easier to reject an invitation if they could not talk right then, than to initiate a discussion themselves. Start of home oxygen or a deteriorating health status may be an important time to clinically address existential and end-of-life issues.

  • Large Housing Estates in Sweden. Policies and practices
  • 2004
  • Rapport (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • RESTATE is the acronyme for Restructuring Large-scale Housing Estates in European Cities: Good Practices and New Visions for Sustainable Neighbourhoods and Cities. The project focus on large housing estates built after the Second World War in ten European countries: France, Germany, Hungury, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovenia, Spain and United Kingdom. The aim of this report is to answer the following question: - What is the philosophy behind the different existing policies with regard to large-scale housing estates in Sweden, specifically in the cities of Stockholm and Jönköping. What are the the main aims? What are the main activities included in the policies and what is the balance between these activities? - How are these policies organised? Who participated in the policy and who has decided about this participation? Can the policy be seen as a top-down or as a bottom-up process? What are the advantages and the disadvantages of these approaches? Has the policy, the way that it is organised and the way that it is perceived by residents and others changed over the time period that it has been in place? The same kind of information for estates in other countries in the RESTATE project can be found in the parallel reports.
