- The article investigates the relation one can argue exists between the actions performed by state representatives and the underlying norms supposed to direct these actions. It is suggested that this relation is characterized by a basic anomic lack. A distinction between an ontic anomie and an ontological anomie is made. The ontological anomie, which is understood as necessary and unavoidable, is analyzed through the work of Hans Kelsen, Carl Schmitt and Giorgio Agamben.
