Enterprise 2.0 as a way to facilitate, enhance, and coordinate intelligence work within large organizations : A Case Study at Toyota Material Handling Europe

• Unstructured information is an essential ingredient of Business Intelligence, and in order to improve issues of handling unstructured information, there is a need for change of the organizational culture in many large industrial organizations, which are shaped by a mindset stemming from the 20(th) century, built upon the concept of central control. We present the technologies connected to the concept Enterprise 2.0, as tools that could help organizations to improve their Business Intelligence work. The case company, Toyota Material Handling Europe, is a large industrial organization with a functional structure. Work that can be categorized as "intelligence work" is performed within most corporate functions, but lack of coordination results in double work and inefficiency. We see that the Enterprise 2.0 concept could be successfully used to help overcome these issues.
