Test of the no-signaling principle in the Hensen loophole-free CHSH experiment

- We analyze the data from the loophole-free CHSH experiment performed by Hensen et al., and show that it is actually not exempt of an important loophole. By increasing the size of the sample of event-ready detections, one can exhibit in the experimental data a violation of the no-signaling principle with a statistical significance at least similar to that of the reported violation of the CHSH inequality, if not stronger. The data from the loophole-free CHSH experiment performed by Hensen et al. are analysed, It is shown that it is actually not exempt of an important loophole. - We present a list of Calabi-Yau threefolds known to us, and with holonomy groups that are precisely SU(3), rather than a subgroup, with small Hodge numbers, which we understand to be those manifolds with height (h1,1+h2,1)24. With the completion of a project to compute the Hodge numbers of free quotients of complete intersection Calabi‐Yau threefolds, most of which were computed in Refs. [1-3] and the remainder in Ref. [4], many new points have been added to the tip of the Hodge plot, updating the reviews by Davies and Candelas in Refs. [1, 5]. In view of this and other recent constructions of Calabi‐Yau threefolds with small height, we have produced an updated list.

Hodge Numbers for CICYs with Symmetries of Order Divisible by 4

- We compute the Hodge numbers for the quotients of complete intersection Calabi-Yau three-folds by groups of orders divisible by 4. We make use of the polynomial deformation method and the counting of invariant Kahler classes. The quotients studied here have been obtained in the automated classification of V. Braun. Although the computer search found the freely acting groups, the Hodge numbers of the quotients were not calculated. The freely acting groups, G, that arise in the classification are either Z(2) or contain Z(4), Z(2) x Z(2), Z(3) or Z(5) as a subgroup. The Hodge numbers for the quotients for which the group G contains Z(3) or Z(5) have been computed previously. This paper deals with the remaining cases, for which G superset of Z(4) or G superset of Z(2) x Z(2). We also compute the Hodge numbers for 99 of the 166 CICY's which have Z(2) quotients.

A Minimal b Ghost

- The b ghost, or b operator, used for fixing Siegel gauge in the pure spinor superfield formalism, is a composite operator of negative ghost number, satisfying (Formula presented.), where q is the pure spinor differential (BRST operator). It is traditionally constructed using non-minimal variables. However, since all cohomology has minimal representatives, it seems likely that there should be versions of physically meaningful operators, also with negative ghost number, using only minimal variables. The purpose of this letter is to demonstrate that this statement holds by providing a concrete construction in (Formula presented.) super-Yang–Mills theory, and to argue that it is a general feature in the pure spinor superfield formalism.

- D = 4, N = 4 super-Yang–Mills theory has an off-shell superspace formulation in terms of pure spinor superfields, which is directly inherited from the D = 10 theory. That superspace, in particular the choice of pure spinor variables, is less suitable for dealing with fields that are inherently 4-dimensional, such as the superfields based on the scalars, which are gauge-covariant, and traces of powers of scalars, which are gauge-invariant. We give a reformulation of D = 4, N = 4 super-Yang–Mills theory in N = 4 superspace, using inherently 4-dimensional pure spinors. All local degrees of freedom reside in a superfield based on the physical scalars. The formalism should be suited for calculations of correlators of traces of scalar superfields.

- We consider supersymmetry in five dimensions, where the fermionic parameters are a 2-form under (Formula presented.). Supermultiplets are investigated using the pure spinor superfield formalism, and are found to be closely related to infinite-dimensional extensions of the supersymmetry algebra: the Borcherds superalgebra (Formula presented.), the tensor hierarchy algebra (Formula presented.) and the exceptional superalgebra E(5, 10). A theorem relating (Formula presented.) and E(5, 10) to all levels is given.

- Although the introduction of generalised and extended geometry has beenmotivated mainly by the appearance of dualities upon reductions on tori, it hasuntil now been unclear how (all) the duality transformations arise from firstprinciples in extended geometry. A proposal for solving this problem is givenin the framework of double field theory. It is based on a clearly definedextension of the definition of gauge symmetry by isometries of an underlyingpseudo-Riemannian manifold. The ensuing relation between transformations ofcoordinates and fields, which is now derived from first principles, differsfrom earlier proposals.
