  • Lie-symmetry vector fields for linear and nonlinear wave equations
  • 1989
  • Ingår i: International journal of theoretical physics. - 0020-7748 .- 1572-9575. ; 28:11, s. 1397-1403
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We derive the Lie symmetry vector fields for the linear wave equation .. u=0 and nonlinear wave equation .. u=u 3. The conformal vector fields for the underlying metric tensor fieldg are also given. We construct the conservation laws and derive similarity solutions. Furthermore, we perform a Painlevé test for the nonlinear wave equation and discuss whether Lie-Bäcklund vector fields exist.

  • Electrodynamics of Perfect Conductors
  • 2013
  • Ingår i: International journal of theoretical physics. - : Springer Science and Business Media LLC. - 0020-7748 .- 1572-9575. ; 52:5, s. 1701-1705
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The most general electrodynamic equations of a perfect conducting state are obtained using a variational principle in a classical framework, following an approach by Pierre-Gilles de Gennes. London equations are derived as the time-independent case of these equations, corresponding to the magnetostatic minimal energy state of the perfect conducting system. For further confirmation, the same equations are also derived in the classical limit of the Coleman-Weinberg model, the most successful quantum macroscopic theory of superconductivity. The magnetic field expulsion is, therefore, a direct consequence of zero resistivity and not an exclusive property of superconductors.

  • Stability of the Landau-Fermi Liquid Theory
  • 2012
  • Ingår i: International journal of theoretical physics. - New York : Plenum Publishing. - 0020-7748 .- 1572-9575. ; 51:5, s. 1379-1385
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The stability of the Landau-Fermi liquid theory is investigated. It has been shown that if the interaction function of the Fermi system is a finite function of the angle between the momenta of two particles at the Fermi surface, then the liquid can be stable. We have shown that the absolute value of the expansion coefficients of the interaction functions in Legendre polynomials are decreasing function of the coefficients indices. We solve the stability condition for one photon exchange (OPE) in an electron gas. The results show that we must use the massive boson propagator (higher order corrections to the photon propagator). Similar to previous works (Abrikosov et al. in Method of Quantum Field Theory in Statistical Physics, Pergamon, Elmsford, 1965), our result is proportional to g 2. The density and temperature dependence of results is occulted in the effective mass of the system. © 2011 Springer Science+Business Media, LLC.

  • Quantum-Like Tunnelling and Levels of Arbitrage
  • 2013
  • Ingår i: International journal of theoretical physics. - : Springer Science and Business Media LLC. - 0020-7748 .- 1572-9575. ; 52:11, s. 4083-4099
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We apply methods of wave mechanics to financial modelling. We proceed by assigning a financial interpretation to wave numbers. This paper makes a plea for the use of the concept of 'tunnelling' (in the mathematical formalism of quantum mechanics) in the modelling of financial arbitrage. Financial arbitrage is a delicate concept to model in social science (i.e. in this case economics and finance) as its presence affects the precision of benchmark financial asset prices. In this paper, we attempt to show how 'tunnelling' can be used to positive effect in the modelling of arbitrage in a financial asset pricing context.

  • Noncommutative Geometrical Structures of Multi-Qubit Entangled States
  • 2011
  • Ingår i: International journal of theoretical physics. - : Springer Science and Business Media LLC. - 0020-7748 .- 1572-9575. ; 50:5, s. 1486-1492
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We study the noncommutative geometrical structures of quantum entangled states. We show that the space of a pure entangled state is a noncommutative space. In particular we show that by rewriting the coordinate ring of a conifold or the Segre variety we can get a q-deformed relation in noncommutative geometry. We generalized our construction into a multi-qubit state. We also in detail discuss the noncommutative geometrical structure of a three-qubit state.

  • Epistemological and historical implications for elementary particle theories
  • 2007
  • Ingår i: International journal of theoretical physics. - : Springer Science and Business Media LLC. - 0020-7748 .- 1572-9575. ; 46:2, s. 269-299
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The epistemological credo of Einstein is further developed and specified in greater detail for practical applications. The results are applied to quasi-historical creation processes of established physical theories and to current theories for elementary particles. The outcome of these applications is then considered from epistemological viewpoints. Reasons underlying the basic difficulties of the current main stream particle theory, the standard model, are given. The steps in the creation of an alternative approach, the scalar strong interaction hadron theory, are delineated.

  • Analog of Formula of Total Probability for Quantum Observables Represented by Positive Operator Valued Measures
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: International journal of theoretical physics. - : Springer Science and Business Media LLC. - 0020-7748 .- 1572-9575. ; 55:9, s. 3859-3874
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We represent Born’s rule as an analog of the formula of total probability (FTP): the classical formula is perturbed by an additive interference term. In this note we consider practically the most general case: generalized quantum observables given by positive operator valued measures and measurement feedback on states described by atomic instruments. This representation of Born’s rule clarifies the probabilistic structure of quantum mechanics (QM). The probabilistic counterpart of QM can be treated as the probability update machinery based on the special generalization of classical FTP. This is the essence of the Växjö interpretation of QM: statistical realist contextual and local interpretation. We analyze the origin of the additional interference term in quantum FTP by considering the contextual structure of the two slit experiment which was emphasized by R. Feynman.

  • Can There be Given Any Meaning to Contextuality Without Incompatibility?
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: International journal of theoretical physics. - : Springer. - 0020-7748 .- 1572-9575. ; 60, s. 106-114
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Our aim is to compare the fundamental notions of quantum physics - contextuality vs. incompatibility. One has to distinguish two different notions of contextuality, Bohr-contextuality and Bell-contextuality. The latter is defined operationally via violation of noncontextuality (Bell type) inequalities. This sort of contextuality will be compared with incompatibility. It is easy to show that, for quantum observables, there is no contextuality without incompatibility. The natural question arises: What is contextuality without incompatibility? (What is "dry-residue"?) Generally this is the very complex question. We concentrated on contextuality for four quantum observables. We shown that, for "natural quantum observables" , contextuality is reduced to incompatibility. But, generally contextuality without incompatibility may have some physical content. We found a mathematical constraint extracting the contextuality component from incompatibility. However, the physical meaning of this constraint is not clear. In Appendix 1, we briefly discuss another sort of contextuality based on Bohr's contextuality-incompatibility principle. Bohr-contextuality plays the crucial role in quantum foundations. Incompatibility is, in fact, a consequence of Bohr-contextuality. Finally, we remark that outside of physics, e.g., in cognitive psychology and decision making Bell-contextuality distilled of incompatibility can play the important role.
