Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
- An integrable front-end architecture for WLAN applications in the 2.4 GHz band is described in this paper. It is based on a multi-functional switched-capacitor block, which performs RF sampling, quadrature downconversion to IF, tunable IF filtering, downconversion to baseband, and sampling rate decimation. The proposed RF sampling downconversion filter is designed in a 0.18-μm CMOS technology. In the downconverted channel band the anti-alias suppression is more than 26 dB. The signal gain is 8 dB, the noise figure is 22 dB, and the IIP3 is at +11 dBm. The image rejection is better than 66 dB. Without the clock generation block the sampling mixer and downconversion filter consume 2.9 mW power.

Konferensbidrag (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
- An improved high-performance dynamic-logic tri-state phase-frequency detector architecture is derived through extensive time domain analysis. In particular, the impact of the reset time's on the maximum operating frequency and phase characteristics of the phase-frequency detector is discussed. The analysis is verified for the presented improved architecture and excellent agreement between theory and simulation is observed. The phase-frequency detector architecture is proven to function for supply voltages below 1 V and has an increased frequency capability of more than 20% with a power consumption of 10 μW at 500 MHz input frequency.

Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
- A high-linearity SiGe monolithic downconversion mixer for 5-6GHz wireless applications is implemented. The mixer offers a high-linearity thanks to taking the MIROMIXER topology with an inductive degeneration transconductance stage. IM3 products are largely cancelled so as to exhibit the state-of-the-art high input IP3. The performances of the mixer are 5.8dBm input 1P(3), -7dBm 1-dB compression point, 6.8dB conversion power gain and 12.9dB noise figure, respectively. Its power consumption is only 8.7mW from a single 3V power supply. The chip size is 991 x 989 mum(2).
