  • Counterterms in gravity in the light-front formulation and a D=2 conformal-like symmetry in gravity
  • 2013
  • Ingår i: Journal of High Energy Physics. - : Springer Science and Business Media LLC. - 1029-8479 .- 1126-6708. ; 58:5-6, s. 485-501
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • In this paper we discuss gravity in the light-front formulation (light-cone gauge) and show how possible counterterms arise. We find that Poincare invariance is not enough to find the three-point counterterms uniquely. Higher-spin fields can intrude and mimic three-point higher derivative gravity terms. To select the correct term we have to use the remaining reparametrization invariance that exists after the gauge choice. We finally sketch how the corresponding programme for N = 8 Supergravity should work.

  • ASYMMETRIC TWO-OUTPUT QUANTUM PROCESSOR IN ANY DIMENSION
  • 2008
  • Ingår i: Romanian Journal of Physics. - 1221-146X. ; 53:5-6, s. 725-737
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We propose two different implementations of an asymmetric two-output probabilistic quantum processor. One of them is constructed by combining asymmetric telecloning with a quantum gate array. We analyze the efficiency of this processor by evaluating the fidelities between the desired operation and the ones generated by the processor and show that the two output states are the same as the ones produced by the optimal universal asymmetric Pauli cloning machine and have a success probability of 1/2. We show further that we can perform the same one-qubit operation with unity probability at the cost of using nonlocal operations. We finally generalize the two schemes for D-level systems and find that the local ones are successful with a probability of 1/D and the nonlocal generalized scheme is always successful.

  • Accelerator mass spectrometry
  • 2003
  • Ingår i: Romanian Journal of Physics. - 1221-146X. ; 48:1-4, s. 27-37
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) is a world-wide spread technique and nearly 50 AMS laboratories exist today. The most widely spread application of AMS is for radiocarbon dating and an estimated total of nearly 100000 14C samples are measured per year. Other isotopes used are 10Be, 26Al, 36Cl, 41Ca, 129I. The number of these measured per year is estimated to be 10% of the number of 14C samples or even less

  • Seniority and truncation schemes for the nuclear configuration interaction approach
  • 2015
  • Ingår i: Romanian Journal of Physics. - 1221-146X. ; 60:5-6, s. 782-791
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • In this contribution I would like to review a few issues on the recent developments concerning the truncation schemes for the nuclear configuration interaction shell model approach. The seniority scheme is a way to solve the pairing Hamiltonian exactly and a good starting point for shell model calculations. Physically meaningful states may also be selected based on importance truncations from a perturbation perspective.
