    • Purpose - The concept of Triple Helix relates to collaboration between universities, governments and industry. Such collaboration can take different forms in different countries. This paper examines collaboration between universities and industry in China, specifically in the city of Hefei in Anhui province, one of the most rapidly developing regions in the country. In so doing, it seeks to address the research question: How does industry collaborate with universities in order to acquire commercialized knowledge? Design/ Methodology/ Approach - The study is qualitative, based on interviews with experts in R & D, and Intellectual Property Rights from high-tech companies based in Hefei. We analyzed our findings using a conceptual framework that focuses on Knowledge Transfer and Innovation Diffusion (Liyanage et al, 2012). Our study describes and discusses the entire process, from an initial awareness of new knowledge to its eventual acquisition.Findings and implications - We conclude that Chinese high-tech companies design comprehensive strategies for the acquisition of knowledge generated from external sources. These strategies are based on local, provincial and state government industrial policies that aim to support collaboration with universities and implement external knowledge in existing systems.Originality - Commercialized knowledge put into practice by industries for their own innovation and commercial purposes.Limitation - We interviewed industrial experts from three high-tech companies in the city of Hefei, which is located in an industrial area of Anhui province.

    • Because of the large number of companies that enter the market on a daily basis and the new business trends, the business environment is always evolving. Companies must develop a flexible management system to respond to quick changes in order to maintain a competitive advantage in the market. To do so, businesses must constantly produce new ideas and suggest innovative ways to keep up with the market. Hence this work aimed to examined the link between management innovation and company sustainability. A case study was undertaken on a local manufacturing company that faces management innovation and business sustainability issues. The needed data was gathered through a questionnaire that was distributed to the company's employees. To extract the conclusions, the questionnaire results were analyzed using statistical techniques. The findings indicate that management innovation enhances organizational sustainable performance and drives sustainability. The finding is a usefull guide for entrepreneurs and company ploicy makers to necessitates continual management improvement.

    • The growth of the technology of internet services and devices had made the users easier to access to the internet and get the information through online. Information technology (IT) is consider reasonable, powerful and accessible. Without IT, effective supply chain management (SCM) is impossible to comply with, and the development and adoption of IT has become a common phenomenon in the SCM era. This article is important to guide the industry on the decision making in information technology The objectives of the study are to identify the impacts of IT in SCM and to prioritize the impacts of IT in SCM based on pairwise comparison. The pairwise comparison is use to analysis the prioritization of impacts. The data were collected by distributing questionnaire to 30 respondents in Malaysia. The respondents are considered as the experts which have educated in information technology, at least 5 years working experience and involve in information technology in the retail industry The results showed the impacts according to the prioritization. The organization can get the decision on improving the information technology according to the organization needs.

  • Retirement Preparedness and Subjective Well-Being: Evidence from Malaysia

    • Organizations offer sufficient preparation to prepare their employees to succeed at work, but very few, if any, prepare their employees for life after work. A cross-sectional survey was undertaken, with a total of 514 Malaysian employees participating in the study. The Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modelling estimation technique was employed to analyse the data. The results revealed that retirement preparedness in orgnizations via financial knowledge, retirement goals and retirement confidence significantly enhances subjective well-being of employees. The study serves to discuss current policy issues that affect the government, financial institutions, the employees, the elderly and their families

In this technology advanced era, most of the counties are trend to promote high technology in business development to increase the profitability and market value. The information technology (IT) project having a dynamic and complex nature caused high uncertainty and trend to be risky in any resources or a capital loss. There are many risk factors is difficult to manage and mitigate by the project manager unless they try to accept or avoid it in the implementation process. Regardless of the previous studies have focused on the critical success factors in information system and project till date, there are fewer studies emphasis on critical risk factor in IT projects. To address these issues above, this paper aims to Prioritize the main Critical risk factors (CRFs) affecting the IT projects in Malaysia based on Pairwise comparison. This study is conducted through experts in the IT field company responded to the Pair-wise comparison survey. Besides that, the research questionnaire is a close-ended survey and 22 CRFs have been converted in a matrix form of a table for the respondents to answer based on their judgment, perception, and experience in IT projects. The result showed that the most significant important CRFs affecting IT projects is task distribution and resource coordination, and lack of communication while the finding can contribute to the IT company, other researchers and the government sector who intend to expand their opportunities in the IT projects.

    • Information technology (IT) projects do not only function as a business platform for launching new business direction, but can also simultaneously increase the profit and market value of the industry. In general, many of the implemented IT projects are accompanied by countless risks that might be difficult for the project manager to manage and mitigate. As such, the project manager is often faced with the mammoth task of making a prognosis on the potential risks that may threaten the implementation of a unique, complex or/and large-scale IT project. Hence, by reviewing existing literature, this study had aimed to concentrate on the critical risk factors faced by the IT projects as a way of aiding the project manager in mitigating the current management issues.
