  • The European network of living labs for CWE : user-centric co-creation and innovation
  • 2006
  • Ingår i: Integrating Visions of Technology. - : CPTS. - 9080771856 - 9789080771857 ; , s. 79-90, s. 840-847
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • In this paper we focus on Living Labs for promoting and developing collaborative working environments (CWEs). The issues we address in this context are related to knowledge-sharing for innovation. More precisely we explore methodologies for appreciative inquiry that stimulate creativity and facilitate the process for co-creative needfinding and innovation. Additionally we contribute to a European state-of-the-art in utilizing Living Labs to user-centric ICT innovation and to establishing a foundation for a European Network of Living Labs. A pan-European Network of Living Labs brings the extreme benefit of leveraging the concept of a Europe of Regions. However, when interactions are conducted at a distance across organisational, geographical and cultural boundaries, placing at risk the overall competiveness of an organisation, the challenge is to develop tools, methods, and work-practices to manage this interaction. This is the aim of this research.

  • Establishing technical quality criteria for Learning Objects
  • 2007
  • Ingår i: Exploiting the Knowledge Economy. - Amsterdam : IOS Press. - 1586036823 ; , s. 1431-1439
  • Bokkapitel (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • The idea of Learning Objects is now a widely accepted concept for the delivery of modularized e-learning content. Originating from Object Oriented programming, the concept has evolved to embrace almost everything that is digital. Based on literature, experience from implementation and a comparative study of Learning Objects, we argue that the concept needs to be more clearly defined in order to deliver what it promises. We argue that most implementations are not technology- and pedagogy-neutral and do not support sophisticated reuse. In the conclusion, six action areas for establishing technical quality criteria are suggested: a narrow definition, a mapping taxonomy, more extensive standards, and best practise for use of existing standards, architecture models, and the separation of pedagogy from the supporting technology of Learning Objects.

  • Modelling ICT Diffusion
  • 2006
  • Ingår i: Exploiting the Knowledge Economy. - : IOS Press. - 1586036823 ; , s. 390-396
  • Bokkapitel (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • The paper presents a part of the research devoted to exploring the experience with ICT diffusion in Central and Eastern European countries. The interest was broaden by the ambition to identify some of the metrics for measuring ICT diffusion, possibly recognize the different patterns behind the dissemination of these new technologies, and sort out the factors for the adoption of services supported through the Internet. It was also important to scale down the role and the magnitude of each one of the factors. The paper is a summary of the research results and some pointers to future studies.
