  • A pyrazine amide – 4-aminoquinoline hybrid and its rhodium and iridium pentamethylcyclopentadienyl complexes; evaluation of anti-mycobacterial and anti-plasmodial activities
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: Journal of the Mexican Chemical Society. - 1870-249X. ; 61:2, s. 158-166
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The synthesis and characterization of N-(2-((7-chloroquino-lin-4-yl)amino)ethyl)pyrazine-2-carboxamide (L), an aminoquinoline – pyrazinamide hybrid, and the complexes (N-(2-((7-chloroquino-lin-4-yl)amino)ethyl)pyrazine-2-carboxamide)(cyclopentadienyl) chlorido-rhodium or iridium hexafluorophosphate ([M(L)(Cp*)Cl] PF6; M = Rh, Ir) and the corresponding chlorido salts ([M(L)(Cp*) Cl]Cl; M = Rh, Ir) are described. The ligand and the hexafluorophosphate salts of the metal complexes have been evaluated for anti-plasmodial and anti-mycobacterial activity. The rhodium and the iridium complexes were significantly more active against M. tuberculosis than the free ligand. The crystallographically determined molecular structures of complexes (N-(2-((7-chloroquinolin-4-yl)amino)ethyl) pyrazine-2-carboxamide)(cyclopentadienyl) chlororhodium hexafluoro-phosphate and (N-(2-((7-chloroquinolin-4-yl)amino)ethyl)pyr-azine-2-carboxamide)(cyclopentadienyl)chloro-iridium chloride are presented.

  • Secondary Metabolites from Heliotropium angiospermum
  • 2009
  • Ingår i: Journal of the Mexican Chemical Society. - 1870-249X. ; 53:2, s. 44-47
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Blumenol A (1), blumenol B (2) and loliolide (3), together with the ubiquitous beta-sitosterol, alpha-amyrin and beta-amyrin, were isolated from the organic extract of the leaves of Heliotropium angiospermum. Structural elucidation of the metabolites was carried out by analysis of their spectroscopic data and/or by comparison with those reported in the literature.

  • Pulcaffeate, a Trimeric Caffeic Acid Derivative from Bourreria pulchra
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: Journal of the Mexican Chemical Society. - 1870-249X. ; 67:3, s. 182-186
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The trimeric caffeic acid derivative pulcaffeate (1) was isolated from the organic crude extract of the roots of Bourreria pulchra (Boraginaceae). The biosynthesis of 1 appears to involve an intramolecular Diels-Alder reaction between a cyclohexa-1,3-diene intermediate, generated by the oxidation of the aromatic ring of a cinnamic acid unit, and the conjugated double bond of a caffeic acid unit. The structure of the new metabolite was elucidated through a detailed analysis of its1H and13C NMR spectroscopic data. This is the first report of a trimeric metabolite occurring in B. pulchra.

  • Electrochemistry for solar energy conversion systems : a selection of mexican contributions
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: Journal of the Mexican Chemical Society. - : Sociedad Quimica de Mexico. - 1870-249X .- 1665-9686. ; 67:4, s. 581-601
  • Forskningsöversikt (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Electrochemistry is a key technology to synthesize, study and scale-up materials and processes for applications in solar energy conversion systems. Mexico has had a tradition of excellence in electrochemistry research and methodology development, and this paper intends to honor some of the key contributors in the subjects of solar energy conversion to useful heat or electricity. We summarize the use of electrochemical techniques as a tool for the deposition and characterization, including the analysis of electrodeposition solutions and deposition mechanisms. In addition, we describe the use of electrodeposited and hybrid ZnO films for application in dye-sensitized solar cells, which are photoelectrochemical systems, and discuss the mechanisms that govern solar cell performance.
