  • 2017
  • Ingår i: Proceedings of the 8th International Conference on Information, Intelligence, Systems & Applications (IISA). - : IEEE. - 9781538637326 - 9781538637319 ; , s. 89-94

The scientific literature provides four different approaches which are analyzed together with an approach from a governmental agency. As basis for the analysis is identified security challenges which are adopted to a SMEs environment. The conclusion is that most of the framework manage the security challenges well, but only two take benefits with mobile devices into account.

  • Challenges with BI adoption in SMEs
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: Proceedings of the 8th International Conference on Information, Intelligence, Systems & Applications (IISA). - : IEEE. - 9781538637319 - 9781538637326 ; , s. 172-177
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Business intelligence (BI) has become a well-known umbrella term both amongst academics and practitioners. Researchers have studied how companies can take advantage of BI and what challenges companies are facing when working with BI. However, research is mostly focused on large companies, despite the importance of small- and medium sized companies (SMEs) in both society and economically. This paper presents results of an in-depth qualitative case study on challenges faced by SMEs when adopting BI. The challenges are categorized according to a BI maturity model adopted as unit of assessment. The contribution of the results presented is two-folded; 1) It increases current literature regarding challenges when adopting BI in SMEs, and 2) It serves as guidance for SMEs on common pitfalls that ought to be avoided.

  • Recommendations for marketing campaigns in telecommunication business based on the footprint analysis : Who is a good client?
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: 2017 8th International Conference on Information, Intelligence, Systems and Applications, IISA 2017. - : Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc.. - 9781538637319 ; , s. 513-518
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • A major investment made by a telecom operator goes into the infrastructure and its maintenance, while business revenues depend on how efficiently it is exploited. We present a data-driven analytic strategy based on combinatorial optimization and analysis of historical data. The data cover historical mobility in one region of Sweden during a week. Applying the proposed method in a case study, we have identified the optimal combination of geodemographic segments in the customer base, developed a functionality to assess the potential of a planned marketing campaign, and investigated how many and which segments to target for customer base growth. A comprehensible summary of the conclusions is created via execution of the queries with a fuzzy logic component. © 2017 IEEE.
