  • Visuospating thinking, imagination and remembering
  • 2007
  • Ingår i: Everyday memory. - Hove : Psychology Press. - 9781841695792 ; , s. 27-56
  • Bokkapitel (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • One of the exceptional accomplishments of humans is their ability to visually imagine objects and mentally simulate events that are physically absent. Sometimes this is done from memory, such as when we imagine the appearance of the beach where we have spent our last holiday. Sometimes it is done by combining perceptual input with stored knowledge, e.g., while inspecting rooms offered for sale, we consider their usefulness and may mentally furnish them. However, sometimes we even imagine doing things that we are unable to perform in reality, such as making a perfect drive at the first tee of the golf course.
