  • Hindered E4 decay of the 12(+) yrast trap in Fe-52
  • 2005
  • Ingår i: Physics Letters. Section B: Nuclear, Elementary Particle and High-Energy Physics. - : Elsevier BV. - 0370-2693. ; 619:1-2, s. 88-94
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The gamma decay of the 12(+) yrast trap in Fe-52 has been measured for the first time. The two E4 gamma-branches to the 8(+) states are hindered with respect to other B(E4) reduced transition probabilities measured in the f(7/2) shell. The interpretation of the data is given in the full pf shell model framework, comparing the results obtained with different residual interactions. It is shown that measurements of hexadecapole transition probabilities constitute a powerful tool in discriminating the correct configuration of the involved wavefunctions.

  • Mixed methods in international collaborative research: The experiences of the international study of parents, children, schools
  • 2006
  • Ingår i: CROSS-CULTURAL RESEARCH. - : SAGE Publications. - 1069-3971 .- 1552-3578. ; 40:1, s. 65-82
  • Tidskriftsartikel (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • The power of a mixed-methods approach combining anthropological and psychological theories and methods is demonstrated through the experiences of the International Study of Parents, Children, and Schools, a collaborative project involving teams of researchers from seven Western countries. The developmental niche framework of Super and Harkness proved useful for integrating multiple methods to understand the context of children’s early development at home and at school. Several parts of the study are presented as illustrations: the development and application of a common list of descriptors for coding parents’ discourse about their children; the construction of a derived etic form of a child temperament questionnaire; the discovery and exploration of ideas and practices related to parent-child co-sleeping; and the identification of cultural themes across various kinds of data. The authors conclude that a combination of anthropological and psychological methods can enrich understanding of children’s development in various cultural settings.

  • J-domain proteins : From molecular mechanisms to diseases
  • 2024
  • Ingår i: Cell stress & chaperones (Print). - 1355-8145 .- 1466-1268. ; 29:1, s. 21-33
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • J-domain proteins (JDPs) are the largest family of chaperones in most organisms, but much of how they function within the network of other chaperones and protein quality control machineries is still an enigma. Here, we report on the latest findings related to JDP functions presented at a dedicated JDP workshop in Gdansk, Poland. The report does not include all (details) of what was shared and discussed at the meeting, because some of these original data have not yet been accepted for publication elsewhere or represented still preliminary observations at the time.

  • Radiative electron capture in the first-forbidden unique decay of 81Kr
  • 2010
  • Ingår i: Physical Review C - Nuclear Physics. - 2469-9985 .- 2469-9993. ; 82:4, s. 044308-
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The photon spectrum accompanying the orbital K-electron capture in the first-forbidden unique decay of 81Kr was measured. The total radiation intensity for photon energies larger than 50 keV was found to be 1.42(22)×10-4 per K capture. Both the shape of the spectrum and its intensity relative to the ordinary, nonradiative capture rate are compared to theoretical predictions. The best agreement is found for the recently developed model that employs the length gauge for the electromagnetic field.

  • Nuclear structure of Th-229
  • 2006
  • Ingår i: Physical Review C. Nuclear Physics. - : American Physical Society. - 0556-2813 .- 1089-490X. ; 73:4
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Lifetimes of excited states in Th-229, populated in the beta decay of Ac-229, have been measured using the advanced time-delayed beta gamma gamma(t) method. Half-lives of 14 states have been determined including 11 of them for the first time. Twenty-seven new gamma lines have been introduced into the beta-decay scheme of Ac-229 based on results of gamma gamma coincidence measurements. Reduced transition probabilities have been determined for more than 70 gamma transitions in Th-229. Average parallel to D-0 parallel to values of 0.029(1), 0.077(3), and 0.024(5) e fm have been deduced for the lowest K-pi=1/2(+/-),3/2(+/-), and 5/2(+/-) parity partner bands, respectively. Excited states in Th-229 and experimental transition rates have been interpreted within the quasiparticle-plus-phonon model. The half-life of the 3.5-eV, 3/2(+) isomeric state is predicted to be about 10 h. Potential energy surfaces on the (beta(2),beta(3)) plane for the lowest single quasiparticle configurations in Th-229 have been calculated using the Strutinsky method.
