- Academic libraries collaborate in several ways. For instance, collaboration can concern standards for indexing and statistics, technical solutions or collection development. A question that a given academic library might ask is with which other academic libraries the library should principally collaborate. In this study, we show how bibliometric methods can be used to generate information that can support decision making with regard to the question at stake. We evaluate the amount of research collaboration between Stockholm University and other Swedish academic institutions across five publishing years, and for the whole considered time period, where research collaboration is operationalized as co-publishing. A dataset of publications obtained from Web of Science, where each publication has at least one Stockholm University address, is used in the study. Co-publishing rates, non-fractionalized and fractionalized, across the publishing years and for the whole for period, for Stockholm University and other Swedish academic institutions, are reported. Further, parts of the outcome of the study are visualized in terms of co-publishing networks.

Traffic Characteristics on 1Gbit/s Access Aggregation Links

- Large network operators have thousands or tens of thousands of access aggregation links that they need to manage and dimension properly. Measuring and understanding the traffic characteristics on these type of links are therefore essential. What do the traffic intensity characteristics look like on different timescales from days down to milliseconds? How do the characteristics differ if we compare links with the same capacity but with different type of clients and access technologies? How do the traffic characteristics differ from that on core network links? These are the type of questions we set out to investigate in this paper. We present the results of packet level measurements on three different 1Gbit/s aggregation links in an operational IP network. We see large differences in traffic characteristics between the three links. We observe highly skewed link load probability densities on timescales relevant for buffering (i.e. 10-milliseconds). We demonstrate the existence of large traffic spikes on short timescales (10-100ms) and show their impact on link delay. We also found that these traffic bursts often are caused by only one or a few IP flows.

Lotagnostus? : mystacinus, a rare agnostid from the Upper Cambrian of Sweden

- Agnostids afford the best means of correlating Cambrian strata, and they are widely used for intercontinental correlations. They are most common in open-marine deposits and reached a maximum diversity during the Middle and early Late Cambrian. About twenty species of agnostids are known from the Upper Cambrian of Scandinavia. Lotagnostus? mystacinus Tjernvik, 1953 is a rare agnostid from the Upper Cambrian Agnostus pisiformis Zone of south-central Sweden. It is redescribed following examination of the holotype and an additional pygidium. The outline and morphology of especially the pygidial posteroaxis, which is distinctly trilobate by a pair of deep notular furrows, suggest that the species is best classified as a species of Lotagnostus. If correctly assigned to Lotagnostus, it would be the oldest known species of that genus.
