  • Sinuosity Effects on Longitudinal Dispersion Coefficient
  • 2011
  • Ingår i: International Journal of Sustainable Water and Environmental Systems. - 1923-7545. ; 2:2, s. 77-84
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • A method for reaching longitudinal dispersion coefficient accounting sinuosity effects is suggested. The proposed method was verified using 43 sets of measured field data from previous study were collected from 30 streams and these data were chosen depends on characteristics availability (flow parameters, fluid properties and Sinuosity). Statistical programs namely MINITAB and SPSS were used to derive the relationship between measured longitudinal dispersion coefficient and geometric parameters were used. The new predicted formulas of the longitudinal dispersion coefficient, were correlated with a high coefficient compared to the measured data (i.e. R2 = 0.92 and 0.94) excluding and including sinuosity in the calculations respectively. Comparisons made among 16 other studies of over long period of measured, experimental, and predicted longitudinal dispersion coefficient from different cross-sectional areas (e.g. triangle, rectangular, full and half full circular pipe, parabolic, narrow and deep and, wide and shallow). The correlation coefficients increased when including irregularities (Sinuosity) term of the natural streams of different cross section in the calculations. Also, the second equation which including sinuosity is more precisely describing the longitudinal dispersion in the rivers and streams. Thus, we strongly prefer and recommend using the second equation for better result than the one not including sinuosity especially for mixing in the case of brine and wastewater discharge. The two results were compared for RMSE (30.1, 24.0, 51.0, 48.9, 90.6, and 70.0) to previous studies e.g. Kashefipour and Falconer (2002), Deng et al. (2001), Seo and Cheong (1998), and Iwasa and Aya (1991) respectively.

  • Så kan Sverige bli ledande nation i resurseffektivitet
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: Dagens Nyheter. - 1101-2447. ; :2016-04-30
  • Tidskriftsartikel (populärvet., debatt m.m.)abstract
    • Ny rapport.

  • A high-performance embedded massively parallel processing system
  • 1994
  • Ingår i: Proceedings of the First International Conference on Massively Parallel Computing Systems (MPCS) The Challenges of General-Purpose and Special-Purpose Computing. - Piscataway, N.J. : IEEE. - 0818663227 - 9780818663222 ; , s. 201-206
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • A need to apply the massively parallel computing paradigm in embedded real-time systems is foreseen. Such applications put new demands on massively parallel systems, different from those of general purpose computing. For example, time determinism is more important than maximal throughput, physical distribution is often required, size, power, and I/O are important, and interactive development tools are needed. The paper describes an architecture for high-performance, embedded, massively parallel processing, featuring a large number of nodes physically distributed over a large area. A typical node has thousands of processing elements (PEs) organized in SIMD mode and is the size of the palm of a hand, Intermodule communication over a scalable optical network is described. A combination of wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) and time division multiplexing (TDM) is used. © 1994 IEEE.

  • A processor array module for distributed, massively parallel, embedded computing
  • 1993
  • Ingår i: Microprocessing and Microprogramming. - Amsterdam : Elsevier. - 0165-6074. ; 38:1-5, s. 529-537
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • With the increased degree of miniaturization resulting from the use of modem VLSI technology and the high communication bandwidth available through optical connections, it is now possible to build massively parallel computers based on distributed modules which can be embedded in advanced industrial products. Examples of such future possibilities are ''action-oriented systems'', in which a network of highly parallel modules perform a multitude of tasks related to perception, cognition, and action. The paper discusses questions of architecture on the level of modules and inter-module communication and gives concrete architectural solutions which meet the demands of typical, advanced industrial real-time applications. The interface between the processors arrays and the all-optical communication network is described in some detail. Implementation issues specifically related to the demand for miniaturization are discussed.

  • Medeltida kollekttavlor från Gotland
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: Myntstudier. - 1652-2303. ; :2, s. 1-90

  • HER2 expression in breast cancer primary tumours and corresponding metastases : Original data and literature review
  • 2004
  • Ingår i: British Journal of Cancer. - : Springer Science and Business Media LLC. - 0007-0920 .- 1532-1827. ; 90:12, s. 2344-2348
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The aim of this study was to evaluate whether the HER2 expression in breast cancer is retained in metastases. The HER2 expression in primary tumours and the corresponding lymph node metastases were evaluated in parallel samples from 47 patients. The HercepTest was used for immunohistochemical analyses of HER2 overexpression in all cases. CISH/FISH was used for analysis of gene amplification in some cases. HER2 overexpression (HER2-scores 2+ or 3+) was found in 55% of both the primary tumours and of the lymph node metastases. There were only small changes in the HER2-scores; six from 1+ to 0 and one from 3+ to 2+ when the metastases were compared to the corresponding primary tumours. However, there were no cases with drastic changes in HER2 expression between the primary tumours and the corresponding lymph node metastases. The literature was reviewed for similar investigations, and it is concluded that breast cancer lymph node metastases generally overexpress HER2 to the same extent as the corresponding primary tumours. This also seems to be the case when distant metastases are considered. It has been noted that not all patients with HER2 overexpression respond to HER2-targeted Trastuzumab treatment. The stability in HER2 expression is encouraging for efforts to develop complementary forms of therapy, for example, therapy with radionuclide-labelled Trastuzumab.
