- If voice over is the superior voice that dictates truth, I examine voice under, the other truths that take place simultaneously. In my doctoral thesis voice under, I explore all the parallel voices beyond the dominating all-knowing voice over. The intention of the project and concept voice under is to open up a wider sensory register in both the creation and the experience of film. By looking closely at, challenging, and playing with different cinematic conventions, I explore how we can recreate seemingly dominant expressions and find spaces for resistance, although temporary. This document outlines the different modes of publication of the doctoral thesis voice under. voice under consists of two branches: film and text.The Documented Artistic Research Project (Doctoral Thesis) voice under will be made public and archived on September 1, 2023, through the following three materials:1. - Carolina Jinde och Ester Martin Bergsmark undersöker vad en expanderad förståelse för lyssnandet kan bidra med när det ges en mer central roll i filmskaparprocessen. Via överlappande beröringspunkter i deras respektive forskningsprojekt, Enhear och Voice-under, experimenterar de med arbetsflöden inom filmproduktion för att lustfyllt destabiliserar traditionella filmproduktionsprocesser. De har utforskat metoder för att arbeta med icke-linjära processer och letat förutsättningar för att låta ett audiellt anslag brottas med bildval, skådespeleri och med den narrativa stommen. I syfte att generera modeller för icke-linjära processer har de till exempel förlagt arbetsmoment som inom konventionell filmproduktion tillhör postproduktion till utvecklings- och preproduktions-fas. Ljud design har använts till scenografi på inspelning, audivisuella manus har varit viktiga delmoment och mood spheres snarare än mood boards har skapats för att ge för-förståelse till berättelsen.

- Artistic researchers Carolina Jinde and Ester Martin Bergsmark explore how an expanded understanding of listening can contribute to the filmmaking process, if and when given a more central role. Through their coinciding projects, Enhear and Voice Under, they experiment with workflows, playfully destabilizing traditional production processes within film production.The project has generated many insights into the potentials of interdisciplinary collaboration in film making and reveals creative potentials of working with more non-linear processes in film making. The researchers enhear a broadened understanding of imagery and the voice under of their work challenges the traditional position of the image as the carrier of truth.
