  • Electromagnetic corrections in partially quenched chiral perturbation theory
  • 2007
  • Ingår i: Physical Review D (Particles, Fields, Gravitation and Cosmology). - 1550-2368. ; 75:1
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We introduce photons in partially quenched chiral perturbation theory and calculate the resulting electromagnetic loop-corrections at next-to-leading-order (NLO) for the charged meson masses and decay constants. We also present a numerical analysis to indicate the size of the different corrections. We show that several phenomenologically relevant quantities can be calculated consistently with photons which couple only to the valence quarks, allowing the use of gluon configurations produced without dynamical photons.

  • eta Mass and NNLO three-flavor partially quenched chiral perturbation theory
  • 2006
  • Ingår i: Physical Review D (Particles, Fields, Gravitation and Cosmology). - 1550-2368. ; 74:5
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We show how to resum neutral propagators to all orders in partially quenched chiral perturbation theory. We calculate the relevant quantities to next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO). Using these results we show how to extend the proposal by Sharpe and Shoresh for determining the parameters relevant for the eta mass from partially quenched lattice QCD calculations to NNLO.

  • Partially quenched and three flavour ChPT at two loops
  • 2007
  • Ingår i: Acta Physica Polonica. Series B: Elementary Particle Physics, Nuclear Physics, Statistical Physics, Theory of Relativity, Field Theory. - 0587-4254. ; 38:9, s. 2777-2787
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • A summary of recent progress in Chiral Perturbation Theory (ChPT) at the two-loop level is given. A short introduction to ChPT is included, along with an explanation of the usefulness of developing ChPT for partially quenched QCD. Further, our recent work in partially quenched ChPT is reviewed, and a few comments are given on older work in mesonic ChPT at the two-loop level. In particular, we quote the present best values for the low-energy constants of the O(p(4)) chiral Lagrangian.

  • Pseudoscalar meson mass to two loops in three-flavor partially quenched chiral perturbation theory
  • 2004
  • Ingår i: Physical Review D (Particles and Fields). - 0556-2821. ; 70:11
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This paper presents a first study of the pseudoscalar meson masses to two loops, or next-to-next-to-leading order, within the supersymmetric formulation of partially quenched chiral perturbation theory (PQchiPT). The expression for the pseudoscalar meson mass in the case of three valence and three sea quarks with equal masses, but different from each other, is given to O(p(6)), along with a numerical analysis.

  • Three-flavor partially quenched chiral perturbation theory at NNLO for meson masses and decay constants
  • 2006
  • Ingår i: Physical Review D (Particles, Fields, Gravitation and Cosmology). - 1550-2368. ; 73:7: 074509
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We discuss partially quenched chiral perturbation theory (PQ chi PT) and possible fitting strategies to lattice QCD data at next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) in the mesonic sector. We also present a complete calculation of the masses of the charged pseudoscalar mesons, in the supersymmetric formulation of PQ chi PT. Explicit analytical results are given for up to three nondegenerate sea-quark flavors, along with the previously unpublished expression for the pseudoscalar meson decay constant for three nondegenerate sea-quark flavors. The numerical analysis in this paper demonstrates that the corrections at NNLO are sizable, as expected from earlier work.

  • Two loop partially quenched and finite volume chiral perturbation theory results
  • 2005
  • Ingår i: [Host publication title missing]. ; LAT2005, s. 058-058
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This talk presents some results relevant for lattice QCD at higher order in ChPT. First we discuss the finite volume corrections at two loops for the quark condensate as well as a Luscherlike finite volume formula for it. The latter allows for an alternative determination of meson sigma terms. The second set of results presented here are the calculations at two loops in partially quenched chiral perturbation theory of masses and decay constants of the charged mesons. We present results for all relevant quark mass combinations for the cases with two and three sea quarks.

  • Multiple violence victimisation associated with sexual ill health and sexual risk behaviours in Swedish youth
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: European journal of contraception & reproductive health care. - : Informa UK Limited. - 1362-5187 .- 1473-0782. ; 21:1, s. 49-56
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Objectives: To address the associations between emotional, physical and sexual violence, specifically multiple violence victimisation, and sexual ill health and sexual risk behaviours in youth, as well as possible gender differences. Methods: A cross-sectional population-based survey among sexually experienced youth using a questionnaire with validated questions on emotional, physical, and sexual violence victimisation, sociodemographics, health risk behaviours, and sexual ill health and sexual risk behaviours. Proportions, unadjusted/adjusted odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated. Results: The participants comprised 1192 female and 1021 male students aged 15 to 22 years. The females had experienced multiple violence (victimisation with two or three types of violence) more often than the males (21% vs. 16%). The associations between multiple violence victimisation and sexual ill health and sexual risk behaviours were consistent for both genders. Experience of/involvement in pregnancy yielded adjusted ORs of 2.4 (95% CI 1.5-3.7) for females and 2.1 (95% CI 1.3-3.4) for males, and early age at first intercourse 2.2 (95% CI 1.6-3.1) for females and 1.9 (95% CI 1.2-3.0) for males. No significantly raised adjusted ORs were found for non-use of contraceptives in young men or young women, or for chlamydia infection in young men. Conclusions: Several types of sexual ill health and sexual risk behaviours are strongly associated with multiple violence victimisation in both genders. This should be taken into consideration when counselling young people and addressing their sexual and reproductive health.

  • Strong association between earlier abuse and revictimization in youth
  • 2014
  • Ingår i: BMC Public Health. - : Springer Science and Business Media LLC. - 1471-2458. ; 14:14
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Background:  Violence victimization among youth is recognized as a public health problem. The objective was to analyze the risk pattern of emotional, physical, and sexual abuse during the past 12 months by gender, sociodemographic factors, health risk behaviors, and exposure to abuse before the age of 15, among young men and women attending youth health centers in Sweden. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted using a nationally representative sample of youth health centers. A total of 2,250 young women and 920 young men aged 15-23 completed a self-administered questionnaire. Odds ratios (OR) and adjusted odds ratios (AOR) with 95% CI were calculated. Results: A consistent and strong association was noted between exposure to all types of violence during the past year and victimization before the age of 15 for all types of violence for both women and men. The only exceptions were childhood sexual victimization and sexual violence during the past year for men. Younger age was associated with all violence exposure for the women and with emotional violence for the men. For the women, drug use was associated with all types of violence, while the association with hazardous alcohol use and not living with parents was restricted to physical and sexual violence exposure, present smoking was restricted to emotional and physical violence exposure, and partnership and living in urban areas were restricted to sexual violence. For men, not being partnered, hazardous alcohol consumption, and drug use meant increased risk for physical violence, while smoking and living in urban areas were associated with sexual violence. After adjustment, immigration had no association with violence exposure. Conclusions: Violence victimization in young men and women is often not a single experience. Findings underline the importance of early interventions among previously abused youth.

  • Short-Term Overeating Induces Insulin Resistance in Fat Cells in Lean Human Subjects
  • 2009
  • Ingår i: Molecular Medicine. - : Springer Science and Business Media LLC. - 1076-1551 .- 1528-3658. ; 15:7-8, s. 228-234
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes (T2D) are closely linked to obesity. Numerous prospective studies have reported on weight gain, insulin resistance, and insulin signaling in experimental animals, but not in humans. We examined insulin signaling in adipocytes from lean volunteers, before and at the end of a 4-wk period of consuming a fast-food, high-calorie diet that led to weight gain. We also examined adipocytes from patients with T2D. During the high-calorie diet, subjects gained 10% body weight and 19% total body fat, but stayed lean (body mass index = 24.3 kg/m2) and developed moderate systemic insulin resistance. Similarly to the situation in T2D subjects, in subjects on the high-calorie diet, the amount of insulin receptors was reduced and phosphorylation of IRS1 at tyrosine and at serine-307 (human sequence, corresponding to murine serine-302) were impaired. The amount of insulin receptor substrate protein-1 (IRS1) and the phosphorylation of IRS1 at serine-312 (human sequence, corresponding to murine serine-307) were unaffected by the diet. Unlike the T2D subjects, in subjects on the high-calorie diet, likely owing to the ongoing weight-gain, phosphorylation of MAP-kinases ERK1/2 became hyperresponsive to insulin. To our knowledge this study is the first to investigate insulin signaling during overeating in humans, and it demonstrates that T2D effects on intracellular insulin signaling already occur after 4 wks of a high-calorie diet and that the effects in humans differ from those in laboratory animals.
