The 23 entries by professionals from different countries and from different spheres are a reflection of his wide and diverse areas of expertise and interest, his many co-operations and networks, as well as his significant contribution to the language education and assessment community.

- The panel will offer insights into the many ways in which EALTA has, over the past two decades, developed and impacted the language testing and assessment community, and beyond. We will start by briefly looking back at where the language testing and assessment community was at the turn of the century, when the need for EALTA was identified and addressed, and then trace EALTA’s evolution until the present time. Now, at the 20th anniversary of the association, there is an obvious need to look around and ahead to how EALTA can stay relevant and develop even further in order to maintain its impact in the field. In what ways can EALTA continue to contribute to an improved language assessment culture regarding learning, teaching and research, whilst retaining its foundational ethos, i.e., principles of collaboration, transparency, inclusiveness and reciprocity? In this, we look forward to testimonials followed by spontaneous contributions and reactions from the audience on what EALTA has meant and can continue to mean in the future to members from different contexts.
