  • The population history of northeastern Siberia since the Pleistocene
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: Nature. - : Springer Science and Business Media LLC. - 0028-0836 .- 1476-4687. ; 570:7760
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Northeastern Siberia has been inhabited by humans for more than 40,000 years but its deep population history remains poorly understood. Here we investigate the late Pleistocene population history of northeastern Siberia through analyses of 34 newly recovered ancient genomes that date to between 31,000 and 600 years ago. We document complex population dynamics during this period, including at least three major migration events: an initial peopling by a previously unknown Palaeolithic population of 'Ancient North Siberians' who are distantly related to early West Eurasian hunter-gatherers; the arrival of East Asian-related peoples, which gave rise to 'Ancient Palaeo-Siberians' who are closely related to contemporary communities from far-northeastern Siberia (such as the Koryaks), as well as Native Americans; and a Holocene migration of other East Asian-related peoples, who we name 'Neo-Siberians', and from whom many contemporary Siberians are descended. Each of these population expansions largely replaced the earlier inhabitants, and ultimately generated the mosaic genetic make-up of contemporary peoples who inhabit a vast area across northern Eurasia and the Americas.

  • A global look at time : a 24-country study of the equivalence of the Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory
  • 2014
  • Ingår i: SAGE Open. - : SAGE Publications. - 2158-2440. ; :4, s. 1-12
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • In this article, we assess the structural equivalence of the Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory (ZTPI) across 26 samples from 24 countries (N = 12,200). The ZTPI is proven to be a valid and reliable index of individual differences in time perspective across five temporal categories: Past Negative, Past Positive, Present Fatalistic, Present Hedonistic, and Future. We obtained evidence for invariance of 36 items (out of 56) and also the five-factor structure of ZTPI across 23 countries. The short ZTPI scales are reliable for country-level analysis, whereas we recommend the use of the full scales for individual-level analysis. The short version of ZTPI will further promote integration of research in the time perspective domain in relation to many different psycho-social processes.

  • Mica behavior in aqueous solutions with pH 3-9
  • 2005
  • Ingår i: Geochemistry International. - 0016-7029 .- 1556-1968. ; 43:7, s. 702-707
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Muscovite and phlogopite behavior was examined in aqueous solutions with pH 3-9. Mica dissolution was demonstrated to involve ion exchange and adsorption and depend on the acid-basic properties of surface oxides. The rate of mica dissolution is limited by the rate of silicon leaching in acid solutions and by the rate of aluminum leaching in alkaline solutions

  • Taxonomy and nomenclature of seven names in Bacidia (Ramalinaceae, Lecanorales) described from Russia
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: Phytotaxa. - : Magnolia Press. - 1179-3155 .- 1179-3163. ; 316:3, s. 292-296
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We aim to increase understanding and improve taxonomy of seven names currently treated in Bacidia that were described from Russian territory based on material collected during 19th-century expeditions: Bacidia alborussula, B. freshfieldii, B. graminum, B. indigens, B. primigenia, B. subabbrevians, and B. xylophila. B. alborussula, B. graminum, and B. indigens are transferred here to Haematomma, Lecania, and Bacidina, respectively. Bacidia freshfieldii and B. subabbrevians belong in the Ramalinaceae and are provisionally kept in Bacidia even though none of them is congeneric with the type of that genus. B. primigenia belongs in Arthrorhaphis, but we refrain from making any new combination owing to its questionable status as a species distinct from A. grisea. B. xylophila is a younger synonym of Lecania subfuscula. We designate lectotypes for names previously not typified and for which syntypes exist: Lecidea alborussula, L. graminum, L. indigens, and L. subabbrevians.

  • Extended study on the synthesis of amorphous titanium phosphates with tailored sorption properties
  • 2012
  • Ingår i: Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids. - : Elsevier BV. - 0022-3093 .- 1873-4812. ; 358:22, s. 2943-2950
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The influence of concentrations of both TiO2 and H2SO4 in the syntheses of amorphous titanium phosphates (TiP) is reported. IR, XRD, TGA, BET and NMR techniques were used to characterise the isolated TiP products. The concentration of sulphuric acid in the initial synthesis plays a major role in the structural diversity and sorption properties of the final ionites. In the primary solutions, Ti(IV) is in monomeric, polymeric and colloidal forms. Upon addition of H3PO4 the presence of monomeric titanium ensures formation of the Ti(HPO4)2 phase. The polymeric Ti(IV) is responsible for formation of the titanium hydroxo-phosphate phase, Ti(OH)2(HPO4), whilst the colloidal form of Ti(IV) appears to have a role in coagulation of a minor Ti(OH)4 phase in an amorphous TiP. It is found that TiP ion-exchange capacities gradually increase with an increase of both TiO2 and H2SO4 concentrations and reach a maximum value of 3.8 mg-eq g− 1 when TiO2 is 70–100 g L− 1 and H2SO4 is 480–560 g L− 1. Analyses of compositional, structural and sorption data allowed 3D correlation diagrams to be built that can facilitate fabrication of TiP with tailored sorption properties.

  • Surface properties of cleaved mica
  • 2004
  • Ingår i: Colloid Journal of the Russian Academy of Science. - 1061-933X .- 1608-3067. ; 66:3, s. 322-328
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The structural characteristics of cleaved mica are studied. Cleavage of phlogopite and muscovite is shown to be accompanied by the deformation of their crystal lattices. The structural charge emerging as a result amounts to 90–95% of the total charge of the mica surface. The acid–base properties of the surfaces of these minerals are studied by the method of potentiometric titration. As is shown using constant capacitance surface complexation model, only deprotonation reactions are characteristic for muscovite, whereas phlogopite undergoes also ion-exchange reactions. The corresponding constants of acid–base equilibrium are determined.
