  • Micro-strip circuit for loss reduction
  • 2003
  • Patent (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • A printed circuit (1) on a lossy substrate (2) has been provided whereby intermediate structures (11, 12, 17, 18) under the top layer strips (5) have been formed having a width being (d2) smaller than the width (w) of the strip. The intermediate structures (11, 12, 17, 18) are particular well suited for inductors (9) on silicon substrates and result in a considerable increase in the Q-factor of the inductor at microwave frequencies

  • A new neck injury criterion candidate-based on injury findings in the cervical spinal ganglia after experimental neck extension trauma
  • 1996
  • Ingår i: PROCEEDINGS OF THE 1996 INTERNATIONAL IRCOBI CONFERENCE ON THE BIOMECHANICS OF IMPACT, SEPTEMBER 11-13, DUBLIN, IRELAND. ; , s. 123-136
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • In this study a mathematical model, based on Navier Stokes equations, was developed and validated against experimental data. This model predicts the pressure changes in the spinal canal as a function of the volume change inside the canal during neck bending in the x-z (sagittal) plane. Another aim of the study was to investigate pressure phenomena and ganglion injuries at static neck extension loading and dynamic neck extension trauma with a head-restraint present. Experiments on pigs were conducted. Preliminary results indicate that ganglion injuries, as well as pressure transients inside the spinal canal, seem to correlate to the phase shift when the neck passes an s-shape (or maximal retraction) during the rearward motion of the head. That is, when the upper neck quickly changes from a flexion to an extension shape. Static loading of the neck resulted in no signs of injuries to the ganglia. A possible candidate for a neck injury criterion is presented, based on the relative acceleration between the top and the bottom of the cervical spine. A tolerance level based on the pig tests is also discussed.

  • Working together--primary care doctors' and nurses' attitudes to collaboration.
  • 2010
  • Ingår i: Scandinavian journal of public health. - : SAGE Publications. - 1651-1905 .- 1403-4948. ; 38:1, s. 78-85
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Multidisciplinary teamwork is recommended for various disorders and it has been suggested that it is a way to meet the new challenges and demands facing general practitioners (GPs) in modern society. Attempts to introduce the method in primary care have failed partly due to GPs' unwillingness to participate. The aim of this study was to measure attitudes towards collaboration among GPs and district nurses (DN) and to investigate whether there is a correlation between a positive attitude toward collaboration and high self-esteem in the professional role.

  • An LC VCO for High Power Millimeter-Wave Signal Generation
  • 2013
  • Ingår i: 35th IEEE Compound Semiconductor Integrated Circuit Symposium: Integrated Circuits in GaAs, InP, SiGe, GaN and Other Compound Semiconductors, CSICS 2013, Monterey, United States, 13-16 October 2013. - 1550-8781. - 9781479905836
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The paper presents a G band second harmonic VCO in 0.25um InP DHBT technology. The VCO uses a cross-coupled topology with a capacitive emitter degeneration and a second order tank to peak second harmonic signal. The VCO presents a tuning range from 169-176GHz and delivers a peak power of -2.7dBm, biased at Vc=4V and Ic=46mA. To the best of authors' knowledge, this is the first HBT cross-coupled VCO designed above 100 GHz.

  • Affect-group intervention for alexithymia in eating disorders
  • 2015
  • Ingår i: International Journal of Emergency Mental Health. - 1522-4821. ; 17:1, s. 219-223
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The purpose of this study is to describe a treatment intervention to alleviate eating disturbance and alexithymia symptoms in thirty patients diagnosed with anorexia nervosa and/or bulimia nervosa. The method consists of teaching and coaching about the emotional/affective status of individuals and incorporates both written and oral sessions. The treatment is presented within groups on one occasion (90 min) each week over eight-week periods. The results indicated that the intervention treatment reduced significantly the extent of alexithymia, as measured using the Toronto Alexithymia Scale, expressed by the patients. This implies that the teaching-coaching episodes affected their ability to cope with feelings thereby expressing improved insights concerning self-awareness and an understanding of themselves and others.

  • Cognitive-affective status in anorexia nervosa: self-image and absence of positive emotions
  • 2015
  • Ingår i: Clinical and Experimental Psychology. - : OMICS Publishing Group. - 2471-2701. ; 1:1
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The relationships between eating disorder patterns (Eating Disorders Examination Questionnaire), alexithymia (Toronto Alexithymia Scale) and cognitive-affective (Positive Affect Negative Affect Schedule) status in forty-nine patients presenting AN in an age- and education-matched comparison with thirty-four healthy controls were investigated. AN patients expressed higher levels of restraint, eating concern, shape concern, weight concern and a higher global score on the Eating Disorders Examination Questionnaire. These responses were accompanied by higher scores on Emotional identifying, Emotional describing, Emotional orientation and Total scoring on the Toronto Alexithymia Scale. AN patients expressed also less positive affect (PA) and more negative affect (NA) than the healthy matched controls. Linear regression analysis indicated that three factors predicted the AN condition, namely Shape concern (β = 0.689) and Weight concern (β = 0.570) whereas PA was counter-predictive (β = -0.291), whereas for the Control condition, only PA was predictive (β = 0.350). The present findings are discussed from a perspective of documented regional brain dysfunctions underlying cognitive and emotional domains that have been obtained from neuro-imaging studies of anorexia.
