  • Inner southern magnetosphere observation of Mercury via SERENA ion sensors in BepiColombo mission
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: Nature Communications. - : Nature Publishing Group. - 2041-1723. ; 13:1
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Mercury’s southern inner magnetosphere is an unexplored region as it was not observed by earlier space missions. In October 2021, BepiColombo mission has passed through this region during its first Mercury flyby. Here, we describe the observations of SERENA ion sensors nearby and inside Mercury’s magnetosphere. An intermittent high-energy signal, possibly due to an interplanetary magnetic flux rope, has been observed downstream Mercury, together with low energy solar wind. Low energy ions, possibly due to satellite outgassing, were detected outside the magnetosphere. The dayside magnetopause and bow-shock crossing were much closer to the planet than expected, signature of a highly eroded magnetosphere. Different ion populations have been observed inside the magnetosphere, like low latitude boundary layer at magnetopause inbound and partial ring current at dawn close to the planet. These observations are important for understanding the weak magnetosphere behavior so close to the Sun, revealing details never reached before.

  • Overview of recent results on Heating and Current Drive in JET
  • 2007
  • Ingår i: RADIO FREQUENCY POWER IN PLASMAS. - : AIP. ; , s. 249-256
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Recent progress on heating and current drive on JET is reported. Topics discussed are: high power coupling of ICRF/LH at ITER relevant antenna/launcher-separatrix distances, succesfull demonstration of 3 dB couplers for ELM tolerance of the ICRF system, influence of ICRF on LH operation, rotation studies in plasma without external momentum with standard and enhanced JET toriodal field ripple, studies of different ICRF heating schemes and of NTM avoidance schemes using Ion Cyclotron Current Drive. A brief outlook on future plans for experiments at JET is given.

  • Centeredness in Healthcare : A Concept Synthesis of Family-centered Care, Person-centered Care and Child-centered Care
  • 2018
  • Ingår i: Journal of Pediatric Nursing. - : W.B. Saunders. - 0882-5963 .- 1532-8449. ; 42, s. 45-56
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Background: Increasingly within healthcare, different kind of ‘centeredness’ are used to denote the focus of care which can create confusion for practitioners. Methods: A concept analysis was undertaken to identify the antecedents, attributes and relationship between family-, person-, and child-centered care. PubMed and CINAHL were searched from 2012 to 2017 and thirty-five papers were reviewed. Results: Both person- and child-centered care are focused on individuals, a symmetric relationship and the tailoring of care to individual needs while family- centered care is focused on the family as a unit of which the child is included. Person-centered care focuses on an adult person with autonomy, while the focus in child-centered care is the individual child as an own actor with rights but still close to a family. Conclusion: It appears at a conceptual level that the concepts of centeredness contain both similarities and differences. Finding ways to structure nursing and focus the care that respects a person's dignity and humanity is essential in healthcare and should be a major goal of health policy and health systems worldwide. Implications: The identification of the antecedents and attributes embedded in the concepts may help raise professionals’ awareness of the different foci and how this will influence one's practice. There is a need to recognize strengths and weaknesses of the centeredness in different settings and environments. Furthermore, it is important to know which approach to apply within different situations so that quality care is enabled for every person, child and family.

  • Thrombin generation during a regular menstrual cycle in women with von Willebrand disease
  • 2018
  • Ingår i: Scientific reports. - : Springer Science and Business Media LLC. - 2045-2322. ; 8:1, s. 17467-
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Fluctuations of the sex steroids during the menstrual cycle might significantly influence hemostasis. This association, derived from a number of the observations on healthy women, is yet to be described in females affected by bleeding disorders. The aim of the current study was to assess the changes in hemostatic variables in women with vWD during two phases of the menstrual cycle (follicular and luteal) and to compare it with healthy controls. The study group included 12 vWD-affected females with regular menstrual cycle, with none of them being prescribed any hormonal treatment. The control group consisted of 102 healthy females, matched for age and BMI. Within the vWD group FVIII and FX were both significantly higher during follicular phase than in luteal phase (p = 0.013 and p = 0.033 respectively). AT, FII, FVII and FX were higher in women with vWD, compared with controls during both phases of the menstrual cycle (p < 0.0005, p < 0.0005, p = 0.001 and p < 0.0005). In women with vWD, lag time and time to peak were prolonged during both phases of the menstrual cycle(p < 0.0005), while peak thrombin concentration was reduced (p = 0.003 and p = 0.002 during follicular and luteal phase respectively) compared to healthy peers. Lower levels of FVIII and FX during luteal phase may predispose women to the development of the menorrhagia - common complication of vWD. Women with vWD need more time to reach the peak thrombin concentration, while the latter still remains less than in healthy women. Higher levels of AT in vWD-affected females, compared to controls, may also contribute to the existing bleeding tendency in this cohort.

  • How do school nurses promote participation in health visits with children of foreign origin?
  • 2020
  • Ingår i: European Journal of Public Health. - : Oxford University Press. - 1101-1262 .- 1464-360X. ; 30:Supplement 5
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Background:All children in Sweden are invited to health visits to the school nurse to talk about their health. However, health visits with children of foreign origin might involve challenges when the child and school nurse do not share language and or culture. Such challenges might hinder the child's participation as e.g. sharing needs and experiences important for their health. Hence, school nurses' promotion of participation for these children need to be clarified to develop knowledge on how to promote health. The aim was to investigate school nurses' descriptions of promoting participation for children of foreign origin in health visits. Methods:A cross-sectional study was conducted, using a web-based questionnaire distributed to all school nurses in Sweden. It contained eight open-ended questions regarding promotion of participation for children of foreign origin. Answers were provided by 673 Swedish school nurses and analyzed using qualitative content analysis. Results:The preliminary result shows that school nurses use three approaches to promote participation: 1) adjusting according to the child's proficiency in Swedish and/or cultural or national background, 2) adjusting according to the child's individual needs, and 3) doing the same for all children regardless of their origin. These approaches are used throughout the health visit, although the most commonly was number 1. Such adjustments included the school nurse considering cultural aspects, simplifying their way of talking, or asking the child about their culture or background. Conclusion:Adjustment according to the child's proficiency in Swedish and/or cultural or national background are warranted to promote participation in health visits with children of foreign origin. These will strengthen the opportunities for children to share their experiences as well as the encounter between school nurses and children.Key messages:School nurses adjust promotion of participation when encountering children of foreign origin.Adjusting promotion of participation in health visits will enable children to share their health needs.
