  • Treatment of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus Diagnosed Early in Pregnancy
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: Obstetrical and Gynecological Survey. - : Lippincott Williams & Wilkins. - 0029-7828 .- 1533-9866. ; 78:11, s. 636-637
  • Tidskriftsartikel (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • (Abstracted from N Engl J Med 2023;388(23):2132-2144) Gestational diabetes mellitus is a common pregnancy complication. It is associated with adverse outcomes, including preeclampsia, obstetrical intervention, large-for-gestational-age neonates, shoulder dystocia, birth trauma, and neonatal hypoglycemia. Cohort studies have found that women with hyperglycemia before 20 weeks of gestation are more likely to experience accelerated fetal growth by 24 to 28 weeks than those diagnosed with GDM later in pregnancy.

  • A COST Action on microbial responses to low pH : Developing links and sharing resources across the academic-industrial divide
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: New Biotechnology. - : Elsevier BV. - 1871-6784 .- 1876-4347. ; 72, s. 64-70
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We present work of our COST Action on "Understanding and exploiting the impacts of low pH on micro-or-ganisms". First, we summarise a workshop held at the European Federation of Biotechnology meeting on Mi-crobial Stress Responses (online in 2020) on "Industrial applications of low pH stress on microbial bio-based production", as an example of an initiative fostering links between pure and applied research. We report the outcomes of a small survey on the challenging topic of developing links between researchers working in academia and industry that show that, while people in different sectors strongly support such links, barriers remain that obstruct this process. We present the thoughts of an expert panel held as part of the workshop above, where people with experience of collaboration between academia and industry shared ideas on how to develop and maintain links. Access to relevant information is essential for research in all sectors, and because of this we have developed, as part of our COST Action goals, two resources for the free use of all researchers with interests in any aspects of microbial responses to low pH. These are (1) a comprehensive database of references in the literature on different aspects of acid stress responses in different bacterial and fungal species, and (2) a database of research expertise across our network. We invite the community of researchers working in this field to take advantage of these resources to identify relevant literature and opportunities for establishing collaborations.

  • Performance analysis of flat plate hybrid PV/thermal configurations
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: AIP Conference Proceedings. - : American Institute of Physics (AIP). - 9780735443570
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • In the recent times many hybrid renewable energy sources are developed. In that, hybrid PV/Thermal gains the more attention than other hybrid sources. In the present work, made a performance analysis of different PV/Thermal configurations. The flat plate configurations have the more feasibility for the domestic applications than the concentrated type. In this paper, liquid, air, nano fluid, phase change material and Thermoelectric generator type configurations are presented. The performance analysis of all configurations done with energy output generation and efficiency of the system.

  • Advanced opportunities and insights on the influence of nitrogen incorporation on the physico-/electro-chemical properties of robust electrocatalysts for electrocatalytic energy conversion
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: Coordination chemistry reviews. - : Elsevier. - 0010-8545 .- 1873-3840. ; 449
  • Forskningsöversikt (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The use of a wide range of methods for incorporating nitrogen atoms on robust catalysts has given rise to fundamental advances in the field of energy conversion and storage. Recently, nitrogen incorporation has proven to be able to fine-tune the electron densities of exposed active sites to create high-performance electrocatalysts. The preservation of a strong interface between the local atomic coordination of nitrogen atoms on bare carbon, single metal atoms, transition metal oxides, metal chalcogenides, and MXenes during synthesis plays an important role in producing an efficient electrocatalysts. In addition, the ability of nitrogen atoms to bind with carbon or metal atoms can be influenced by processing conditions. In this regard, this review is the first comprehensive overview of the range of synthetic strategies to form nitrogen incorporated catalysts and assess their chemical, structural, physical electronic property modification and their influence on electrocatalytic ORR, OER, and HER performance. This review will describe how specific strategies have been utilized to realise effective electrocatalytic systems, including the energy conversion of nitrogen incorporated catalysts, structural coordination, and material optimization. Finally, the main challenges to be considered in future investigations in order to initiate new research efforts in this promising research area are discussed.

  • Large-scale production of extracellular vesicles: Report on the “massivEVs” ISEV workshop
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: Journal of Extracellular Biology. - : Wiley. - 2768-2811. ; 1:10
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Extracellular vesicles (EVs) large-scale production is a crucial point for the translation of EVs from discovery to application of EV-based products. In October 2021, the International Society for Extracellular Vesicles (ISEV), along with support by the FET-OPEN projects, “The Extracellular Vesicle Foundry” (evFOUNDRY) and “Extracellular vesicles from a natural source for tailor-made nanomaterials” (VES4US), organized a workshop entitled “massivEVs” to discuss the potential challenges for translation of EV-based products. This report gives an overview of the topics discussed during “massivEVs”, the most important points raised, and the points of consensus reached after discussion among academia and industry representatives. Overall, the review of the existing EV manufacturing, upscaling challenges and directions for their resolution highlighted in the workshop painted an optimistic future for the expanding EV field.
