  • The Genome Sequence of Taurine Cattle : A Window to Ruminant Biology and Evolution
  • 2009
  • Ingår i: Science. - : American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). - 0036-8075 .- 1095-9203. ; 324:5926, s. 522-528
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • To understand the biology and evolution of ruminants, the cattle genome was sequenced to about sevenfold coverage. The cattle genome contains a minimum of 22,000 genes, with a core set of 14,345 orthologs shared among seven mammalian species of which 1217 are absent or undetected in noneutherian (marsupial or monotreme) genomes. Cattle-specific evolutionary breakpoint regions in chromosomes have a higher density of segmental duplications, enrichment of repetitive elements, and species-specific variations in genes associated with lactation and immune responsiveness. Genes involved in metabolism are generally highly conserved, although five metabolic genes are deleted or extensively diverged from their human orthologs. The cattle genome sequence thus provides a resource for understanding mammalian evolution and accelerating livestock genetic improvement for milk and meat production.

  • A Simple Compact Reconfigurable Slot Antenna With a Very Wide Tuning Range
  • 2010
  • Ingår i: IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation. - 0018-926X .- 1558-2221. ; 58:11, s. 3725-3728
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • A simple and compact slot antenna with a very wide tuning range is proposed. A 25 mm (roughly equal to lambda(H)/8, where lambda(H) corresponds to the highest frequency of the tuning range) open slot is etched at the edge of the ground. To achieve the tunability, only two lumped elements, namely, a PIN diode and a varactor diode are used in the structure. By switching the PIN diode placed at the open end of the slot, the slot antenna can resonate as a standard slot (when the switch is on) or a half slot (when the switch is off). Continuous tuning over a wide frequency range in those two modes can be achieved by adjusting the reverse bias (giving different capacitances) of the varactor diode loaded in the slot. Through optimal design, the tuning bands of the two modes are stitched together to form a very wide tuning range. The fabricated prototype has a tuning frequency range from 0.42 GHz to 1.48 GHz with S11 better than -10 dB, giving a frequency ratio (f(R) = f(u)/f(L)) of 3.52:1. The measured full spherical radiation patterns show consistent radiation characteristics of the proposed antenna within the whole tuning range.

  • Energy-effectively printed all-polymer solar cells exceeding 8.61% efficiency
  • 2018
  • Ingår i: Nano Energy. - : Elsevier BV. - 2211-2855. ; 46, s. 428-435
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • All-polymer solar cells (all-PSCs) have attracted tremendous attention in the past few years due to their unique advantages. However, up to now most of high-efficiency all-PSCs are processed by spin-coating with complicated post treatment processes, which is ill-suited to a large-area roll-to-roll (R2R) technique. In this work, high-efficiency all-PSCs based on PTB7-Th and PNDI-T10 are achieved by one of R2R compatible printing techniques, i.e. doctor-blading, without any annealing treatment. It was found that incorporating an additive into all polymer blends solution can prolong the drying time of all polymer nanocomposites from 120 to 1000 s to form a better bulk heterojunction morphology and a higher crystallinity, which thus reduce charge recombination and show much better electrical impedance spectroscopy parameters. Record-breaking power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) of 8.61% and high fill factors (FF) of 0.71 are achieved by doctor-blading under an extremely process-simple and energy-effective conditions. Moreover, large-area (2.03 cm 2 ) flexible ITO-free all-PSCs by doctor-blading with record-breaking PCEs of 6.65% and FF of 0.65 are realized, which are much higher than conventional fullerene-based ones under the same condition, demonstrating that all-PSCs are more suitable for the flexible device structure and have a bright future towards practical application with R2R manufacture.

  • Printed Nonfullerene Organic Solar Cells with the Highest Efficiency of 9.5%
  • 2018
  • Ingår i: Advanced Energy Materials. - : WILEY-V C H VERLAG GMBH. - 1614-6832 .- 1614-6840. ; 8:13
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The current work reports a high power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 9.54% achieved with nonfullerene organic solar cells (OSCs) based on PTB7-Th donor and 3,9-bis(2-methylene-(3-(1,1-dicyanomethylene)-indanone))-5,5,11,11-tetrakis(4-hexylphenyl)-dithieno[2,3-d:2,3-d]-s-indaceno[1,2-b:5,6-b]dithiophene) (ITIC) acceptor fabricated by doctor-blade printing, which has the highest efficiency ever reported in printed nonfullerene OSCs. Furthermore, a high PCE of 7.6% is realized in flexible large-area (2.03 cm(2)) indium tin oxide (ITO)-free doctor-bladed nonfullerene OSCs, which is higher than that (5.86%) of the spin-coated counterpart. To understand the mechanism of the performance enhancement with doctor-blade printing, the morphology, crystallinity, charge recombination, and transport of the active layers are investigated. These results suggest that the good performance of the doctor-blade OSCs is attributed to a favorable nanoscale phase separation by incorporating 0.6 vol% of 1,8-diiodooctane that prolongs the dynamic drying time of the doctor-bladed active layer and contributes to the migration of ITIC molecules in the drying process. High PCE obtained in the flexible large-area ITO-free doctor-bladed nonfullerene OSCs indicates the feasibility of doctor-blade printing in large-scale fullerene-free OSC manufacturing. For the first time, the open-circuit voltage is increased by 0.1 V when 1 vol% solvent additive is added, due to the vertical segregation of ITIC molecules during solvent evaporation.

  • ABC-AF-Stroke score predicts thromboembolism in non-anticoagulated patients following successful atrial fibrillation ablation : a report from the Chinese Atrial Fibrillation Registry
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: Chinese Medical Journal. - : Lippincott Williams & Wilkins. - 0366-6999. ; 136:20, s. 2451-2458
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Background: The age, biomarkers, and clinical history (ABC)-atrial fibrillation (AF)-Stroke score have been proposed to refinestroke risk stratification, beyond what clinical risk scores such as the CHA2DS2-VASc score can offer. This study aimed toidentify risk factors associated with thromboembolism and evaluate the performance of the ABC-AF-Stroke score in predictingthromboembolism in non-anticoagulated AF patients following successful ablations. Methods: A total of 2692 patients who underwent successful ablations with discontinued anticoagulation after a 3-monthblanking period in the Chinese Atrial Fibrillation Registry (CAFR) between 2013 and 2019 were included. Cox regressionanalysis was conducted to present the association of risk factors with thromboembolism risk. The ABC-AF-Stroke score wasevaluated in terms of discrimination, including concordance index (C-index), net reclassification improvement (NRI) andintegrated discrimination improvement (IDI), clinical utilization by decision curve analysis (DCA), and calibration bycomparing the predicted risk with the observed annualized event rate. Results: After a median follow-up of 3.5 years, 64 patients experienced thromboembolism events. Age, prior history of stroke/transient ischemic attack (TIA), high-sensitivity cardiac troponin T (cTnT-hs), and N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide(NT-proBNP) were independently associated with thromboembolism risk. The ABC-AF-Stroke score performed statisticallysignificantly better than the CHA2DS2-VASc score in terms of C-index (0.67, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.59–0.74 vs. 0.60,95% CI: 0.52–0.67, P = 0.030) and reclassification capacity. The DCA implied that the ABC-AF-Stroke score could identifymore thromboembolism events without increasing the false positive rate compared to the CHA2DS2-VASc score. The calibrationcurve showed that the ABC-AF-Stroke score was well calibrated in this population. Conclusions: In this real-world study enrolling non-anticoagulated AF patients following successful ablations, age, prior historyof stroke/TIA, level of NT-proBNP, and cTnT-hs were independently associated with an increased risk of thromboembolism. The ABC-AF-Stroke score was well-calibrated and statistically significantly outperformed the CHA2DS2-VASc score inpredicting thromboembolism risk.

  • An Electrically Small Frequency Reconfigurable Antenna With a Wide Tuning Range
  • 2011
  • Ingår i: IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters. - 1536-1225 .- 1548-5757. ; 10, s. 103-106
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • An electrically small frequency-reconfigurable antenna with a very wide tuning band is proposed. Three varactor diodes are used to achieve the tunable capacitance. With a modified feeding structure, the measured tuning range of the fabricated antenna reaches from 457.5 to 894.5 MHz, and the tuning band enhancement is also explained through an equivalent circuit analysis.
